Nekron and the Blackhand are both amazing villains who really shined in possibly the best mega event DC ever put out: Blackest night. Thanks for the heads up on Corps#2!!
That era of Legion Of Super-Heroes still makes marvellous reading with beautiful art. I wish I had a dollar for every time I've been told that character X is rumoured to be appearing in the next [fill in name of movie or series here]. Speculating on rumours is a waste of money 99.9% of the time. The Grell issues of The Warlord are very enjoyable (although the last two years were actually written by Mrs. Grell), particularly when Mike Grell also drew the comics. This one has a special place in my collection: I have all issues from First Issue Special 8 to 133 plus all Annuals, miniseries and Specials, I've met Mike Grell twice and the comic printed my letters in the 1980s. I had no idea about DC's Hot Wheels, although I recall Charlton (I think) having a series. Good concept and good video Jim.
Crazy. I had no idea that Hot Wheels had a comic book title, or if I did, I've forgotten all about it. Now I kinda want to find those books out of nostalgia. I had a ton of Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars as a kid. Very interesting list, Jim.
The Warlord run was a beautiful drawn book by Mike Grell....years ago found First Special #8 and No.1 signed copies which I kept over years. I know have a few of others.
Did'nt knew about First Bumblebee in teen titans #48 but it's in this issue that the joker's daughter become Harlequin. Two First appearance in one book. Better key then i tought. 👍
Used to have some of those. Still have the Brave and the Bold. Will get the Teen Titans as I'm working on that run and Super Friends # 25 for Fire. Grwat vid.
Hi Jim, great video and great titles (with the exception of Super Friends, I hate this lousy show). I totally forgot about Richard Dragen. Everyone talks about Shang-Chi or Iron Fist but Richard Dragon is a great character, too. I simply cannot get enough of this DC special videos of yours.
Great content, Jim! Since I'm not largely a DC guy, I never knew about some of these. I just recently started picking up those ADVENTURE COMICS with Ditko's STAR MAN. They're pretty cool. Loved the Ross Andru covers. Didn't WARLORD crossover with an iteration of the Teen Titans at some point, when Perez had returned to do inks on that title, which I believe was penciled by Jurgens. (Can't recall who wrote it). But was that actually Warlord's son in the Warlord mantel by that point? As for that HOT WHEELS series, I'm very ashamed that I knew there was a Team America comic and an Evil Knevil(sp) comic, but I had no idea there was a HOT WHEELS comic. Que sera sera...
Great video. The only dc book I’m specking on for green lantern is justice league international #10 for Guy Gardner. The nekron one is a interesting one though.
I was looking for some Bronze Age videos to watch on my lunch break, and lo and behold, I find this. Instant subscribe!

Great video! Could you do a Marvel version of this?
Working on one!
That Hot Wheels comic had the most appeal for me. Never seen it before. Thanks for sharing your research into DC.
Thanks - another great scholarly effort. Love it !

Thanks, Jim. I rushed down to my bulk comics int he basement and pulled out the Firestorm and Legion books. Great tip!
the warlord appearance in the new justice league animated movie - war world - was a real joy and showed the potential of the character

Warlord!!! I love the warlord series. I picked up a pretty crispy copy a couple years ago. Should probably get it graded. Man, I love that stuff.
Very cool list, really enjoying Tom King's usage of Warlord in the new Danger Street mini series :)
I collect all the 80's books with the side advertisements on the cover, example DC Comics Presents #26, New Teen Titans #16.
Great video keep the DC info coming. Great job
