I honestly didn't know that G.I. Combat started at Quality. I've only ever read the DC books. Just for the historical relevance to comic history, these books should be worth so much more. I would still love to see a live action Blackhawks movie, and eventual crossover with Sgt. Rock and Unknown Soldier. But that's just me. Great informational video, Jim!

That was a very interesting video, wish we had more like it, love to hear about books I've never seen and the history behind the characters that appeared in them, that I have heard of! Used to enjoy the Freedom Fighters back in the crossover days, and their short lived title in the mid to late 70's.

Great video. I was surprised by how many of these I have in my collection. At least 20 of them from the ones you showed. For me Police Comics #1 is my favorite.

So much history. Probably undervalued but not enough demand for these characters either

Very entertaining and informative video. The only cover I thought didn’t belong was strangely #1 - I think the buyer had some special connection to that title and overbought.

I love that cover. I saw a high grade copy at NYCC in a display case with one of the big dealers. It’s a sought after Lou Fine. I would love to have that book - but that’s me. Thanks for stopping by.

@@bronzevillecomics2581 I agree with you. There aren't many Lou Fine collectors (many of his comics are scarce/rare which means there can be only a few), but there are enough with deep pockets that the Hit would sell for more today.

Lou Fine and Mac Raboy were amazing artists whose styles were very distinctive compared to their contemporaries and who could fit in today.
I have no doubt that there are collectors who do focus on robot vs. gorilla stories and covers - a very niche area of collecting, admittedly.
Undervalued? For me the point is that I could never afford them anyway so their value is in reprints which allow me to enjoy the stories and art without needing to spend a fortune.
Thanks for all your research on this Jim.
