My biggest reason for wanting an iPad is being able to use Procreate for digital art and lettering, as well as other general usage. should I go with the Pro simply for the refresh rate for less lag with the apple pencil?
I’ve been using the iPad Air 4 for one week now. Saved 250 euros by buying the Air instead of the Pro. One thing I was worried about is storage, as 128 Gb seems like the perfect amount of storage for keeping all apps, photos and videos on one device for the coming years. I double checked my old Air to see how I was doing previously with storage, realized half of the apps I had installed on the device taking up storage space were apps I wasn’t using anymore. For a mere 1 euro a month, I have about 25 Gb of photos, videos and files saved in iCloud (50Gb subscription), which I use with my other devices as well. If you are a person like me that appreciates a laminated and balanced display design, use your device to take notes, plays Apple Arcade games, streams most other stuff ,and wants an Apple Pencil that attaches and charges in a very efficient manner, this is the iPad for you. Even though I am used to FaceID on the iPhone, the new fingerprint reader grows on you.
As a person living in a 3rd world country where it doesnt have official apple store so the new stuff always coming late (around 3-6 months late), im struggling to buy these ipad. The only way we could get this ipad air is through black market online store where they bought the item from other countries, and they hijacked the price until its the same price with the ipad pro one (same storage space). People tend to say that we should buy the ipad air because its value for money, but if they are at the same price, what would you choose? Im confuse, should i buy ipad air 4 or ipad pro 2020?
Personally, I’m not a fan of the flat edge design at all. It’s extremely uncomfortable to hold and digs aggressively into the palm of the hand leaving a noticeable red mark, even after just a few minutes. My iPad Air 2 was so incredibly comfortable to hold in my hands, and when I updated to the iPad Pro it took quite some getting used to. It’s a shame
@@RemofRenaissance I don’t have any major problems with it performance wise. I’d say my biggest issue is that the fingerprint resistant coating has come off and the screen gets horribly dirty.

@@yieks.h5926 I wound up giving it to my cousin's wife when her 1 year older one died. It did fine for my uses. Just normal stuff, nothing intensive. I also bought the M1 MacBook Air! LOL
I thought this was a great rundown on the Air vs. the Pro iPads! I’ve sent the link to a family friend who is going nuts trying to decide on their next iPad.
My mum said that she'll buy me an air when I told her that I asked my dad for an iPad 8 because the new air was too expensive. So I get what you mean xD
I ultimately went for the 11" Pro, coming from an old original iPad Pro. I realised the main features I wanted from an iPad, the promotion and face ID, were deal breakers for the Air for me and that if i'm spending this much money on a device I probably shouldn't make any compromises. And on top of that I definitely need more than 64gb which would mean bumping up to the more expensive model of the Air, making it almost the same price of the Pro anyway.
That was my reasoning as well. 64gbs for $600 is unacceptable imo. For the $200 extra, getting face id, promotion, and 128gbs was 100% worth it for me.
@@terencetan236 I’m using it to record some music in garageband as well as a media consumption platform. 64gbs is just not enough and the $50 difference between the 256gb model and the base iPad Pro makes no sense. I love my pro so far!
Stuck between the Ipad air 4 256gb and iPad pro 128gb coz they fall around the same price bracket/my budget. My general apps and lil bit of data cross around 100gb, so very skeptical with the 128gb ipad pro coz I wanna have these machines for atleast 4 to 5 years from now. The only thing why i am tilting towards the pro is the 120hz display, since I sketch a lot (currently on my iPad mini 5), use my iPad for music production, photo editing and loads of reading. would the refresh rate make any noticable difference during daily usage or is it of any good use 🤔 or just some "PRO" thing. Shall I go ahead with the "pro" but storage is an issue in the long run or will ipad air 4 256gb suffice for the next 5 years
Yes, a 16” iPad Pro absolutely. A 16” would truly enable a mobile work environment using the iPad with Sidecar as a second monitor in conjunction with a laptop. The need for a mobile screen is greatly needed and the current lager iPad is a little too small to be useful.
Thank you so much for this video I currently have a 2nd generation IPad Pro 12.9”(purchased December 2017). It is not holding charge like it used to and of course is the one model that the Batteries Plus store can’t replace. I am leaning towards the 10.9 inch IPad Air 2021with 256gb of storage but am worried that Procreate won’t perform as well and I should get the 2020 IPad Pro 11 inch. The pro is only $50 more at Target( I like their warranty better than Apple care. ) The $50 difference could be put towards my Apple Pencil. Would love to know your thoughts.
I ended up purchasing the 2020 iPad Air 4 256gb for $709.00 during launch from the Apple store. If you call Apple they will match Costco price and give you an additional 10% off so you don’t have to pay the full price.
Thanks for the review, I appreciate how you touched on comparing the air/pro with the other iPads available, it’s helpful to my decision making while in the tablet market.
@@harrytsang1501 funnily enough, display is the main thing here. Same chip, storage is a wash, never had an iPad but I think 32 would be enough, just for watching content. No drawing or photos.
$80 difference between iPad 8th gen 32GB vs iPad Air 3rd Gen 64BG? Hands down iPad Air 3rd Gen. It’s a steal. I had to make the same decision. Slightly more delta - about $100. Went with the Air. My reasoning: - Much better screen - Laminated display (you’re touching the screen all the time) - Anti-reflective coating (If you’re indoors, you have lights. If you’re outdoor, you have lights) - P3 color gamut (It’s not exactly HDR, but it’s certainly got more color reproduction) - True-tone (Didn’t think I’d like it, but I’m enjoying the difference) - Slightly bigger at 10.5” vs 10.2” - Apple Pencil works much better with laminated display - 64 GB (I didn’t think I’d need more than 25GB before buying. I’m currently using 52-55GB 😅. 32GB is a squeeze (but I wouldn’t pay $100 for 128GB) - Better FaceTime camera (7MP vs 1.2MP) - 35 grams lighter (456gm vs 490gm) - 2nd-gen TouchID in iPad Air (Nothing mentioned on 2020 iPad) - Bluetooth 5.0 (Air) vs 4.2 (2020 iPad) So yeah. $80 is a steal. I’d be willing to pay up to $150 difference for Air (considering the above mentioned models)
The only reason I went with the 11” Pro is because of the 1 TB of storage. I was simply done with offloading videos as soon as I finished in iMovie or deleting movies to make room. Plus it should future-proof things for me for a long while. Since I was coming from an Air 2, you can see I hold onto my electronics.
Hi Rene, Do i need to buy the iPad Pro to use Adobe CC Apps on, or is the iPad Air 4 just fine for that? Please help me decide :) Thanks for your videos, they're extremely helpful.
this is one of the most helpful reviews i have seen thus far, and it's really helping me with my decision on which ipad i should get, especially since it's a pretty big decision for me, a student, as i have decided to work part time in order to save up for one :3
I enjoy your view point. My 5th iPad is having battery problems. I just upgraded to the 12 pro max (from 7 plus). I just ordered the air 4 to replace my failing iPad. I’m excited to get it. Watching you video reassured of my choice. Thanks again
Rene, do you think it’s feasible for Apple to put a landscape camera into the current iPad Pro/Air design? Meaning, is there room to fit it in and is it likely we’ll see that next year?
Bought iPad Air 4. I felt sad whenever I see reviews that I should have gotten the iPad pro 2020, but I realized that it is exactly what I need. I have a macbook pro that I use at home, so I bought an iPad so that I can still read and study when I'm at work in my free time. And because of covid, I always wear a facemask, and buying an ipad pro will be counter productive and unsanitary especially if I have to always take off my mask to open it 😂 so yeah, touch ID suits me 😂 and I don't like the ipad 8 because it looks like my old ipad because of the home button 😂
You definitely made a good choice. Ipad pro would be a better choice if youre using the ipad as a macbook/laptop replacement. But macbook + ipad air 4 is a good combo!
@John Doe that honestly would be so sick! I doubt apple would ever release such feature for iPad though because then people wouldn’t buy their MacBook at all
Really couldn’t recommend a better product other than the pro. Mines helped me so much with school, the split screen thing is amazing, being able to have google and my documents open instead of having to close a page and open another!

The only thing I've ever used for art is my Amazon fire that I got 2013/2014 which is so old now that I can't draw on it anymore. Im still super stuck on whether I should get the air or a basic ipad
I really want Touch ID back on the iPhone. I really hope they can implement the same biometrics as the iPad on the iPhones. Both options would be cool too, but I prefer to use finger... I dislike having to look that the screen to open jt
Here is the issue - the base iPad Air 4 is 64gb and the next model up is the 256gb. At that point the price difference between the Air and Pro is almost irrelevant...
I'm guessing that in terms of display alone, I'm in for a pleasant surprise when my Air 4 gets here, compared to the iPad 4 and Air 1 I've used for the last eight years.
I don’t care about 120hz on the phone, but because I edit my videos via Lumafusion with the Apple Pencil, 120hz is so good for scrubbing thru the timeline. The new Air is better than my 2017 Pro in pretty much every way, except that one major thing.
Also have to admit that the 12.9” iPad Pro is just too big to be convenient. What i mean is I didn’t find myself wanting to use it on the couch... when i would be stopped at a job site I didn’t enjoy pulling it out of my briefcase to work a bid. It was just too big to be versatile. The 11 seems to perfectly fit the bill. I use it sittting in my recliner, in my truck, and like now at the kitchen table.
I bought 64 GB iPad Air 4, Since usb type C can detect external SSD's, buying extra storage was useless for me, since i only need it for apple pencil 2 to write notes and designs while programming..
I ve seen so much bashing about the camera on the iPad Air 4. But lets face it, most people are only going to use it as it was intended. Scanning documents and FaceTime calls. I don't see people out there, like I did when the iPad first came out, taking pictures or shooting videos on an iPad.
Hi Rene, I need your advice. I have secured admission for Master’s in Business Intelligence and Analytics and simultaneously I would be doing online course on Data Science and as a hobby would be creating content on the same subjects over UA-cam. I have decided to go for iPad Pro as I feel it will suffice my need but my query is that can the device be used for data visualisation using tableau, then coding and also for video editing. After a year I intend to buy another device. Kindly respond
when you view your iPad Air 4 screen at an angle do the edges of the display have a light pink hue/tint that appears? its my first iPad with laminated display so not sure if its normal
I've seen another vid stating the pro is still better for gaming due to the extra graphics cores. You won't get the dropped frames like you do on the air. If you wait a few more months, the new Pro will be out with the a14x chip and will outperform the air. That's what I plan on doing...

Is it still good now??

Would it be a good idea to buy a 64gb ipad air and buy an external drive? Are those 64 gb enough for apps and updates?
As a person living in a 3rd world country where it doesnt have official apple store so the new stuff always coming late (around 3-6 months late), im struggling to buy these ipad. The only way we could get this ipad air is through black market online store where they bought the item from other countries, and they hijacked the price until its the same price with the ipad pro one (same storage space). People tend to say that we should buy the ipad air because its value for money, but if they are at the same price, what would you choose? Im confuse, should i buy ipad air 4 or ipad pro 2020?
Moving to the new iPad Air from iPad Pro 2017 10.5 inch would be an upgrade or not? I got Pro 3 years back for the 4 speakers!!

Need help: The ipad pro 128gb & Ipad Air 256gb (2020) are pretty much both the same price (black friday). Which one should I get? Want a device that lasts the longest!

That is sound reasoning
@@terencetan236 I’m using it to record some music in garageband as well as a media consumption platform. 64gbs is just not enough and the $50 difference between the 256gb model and the base iPad Pro makes no sense. I love my pro so far!

Would you guys say the iPadAir is worth an upgrade from the baseline 7th Generation 10.2 iPad?
Thank you!!
Thanks for the review, I appreciate how you touched on comparing the air/pro with the other iPads available, it’s helpful to my decision making while in the tablet market.
haha, the Ipad-Nothing. I like those intermezzo jokes.

Hi,
Would you recommend the air 3 over the 8th Gen if a new air 3 was $80 more?
Is 32GB enough for you? If you are asking this question the display probably isn't your main concern but storage may be
@@harrytsang1501 funnily enough, display is the main thing here. Same chip, storage is a wash, never had an iPad but I think 32 would be enough, just for watching content. No drawing or photos.
Yes of course.......more storage better screen (slightly bigger) lesser bezels so yeah!
$80 difference between iPad 8th gen 32GB vs iPad Air 3rd Gen 64BG?
Hands down iPad Air 3rd Gen. It’s a steal.
I had to make the same decision. Slightly more delta - about $100. Went with the Air.
My reasoning:
- Much better screen
- Laminated display (you’re touching the screen all the time)
- Anti-reflective coating (If you’re indoors, you have lights. If you’re outdoor, you have lights)
- P3 color gamut (It’s not exactly HDR, but it’s certainly got more color reproduction)
- True-tone (Didn’t think I’d like it, but I’m enjoying the difference)
- Slightly bigger at 10.5” vs 10.2”
- Apple Pencil works much better with laminated display
- 64 GB (I didn’t think I’d need more than 25GB before buying. I’m currently using 52-55GB 😅. 32GB is a squeeze (but I wouldn’t pay $100 for 128GB)
- Better FaceTime camera (7MP vs 1.2MP)
- 35 grams lighter (456gm vs 490gm)
- 2nd-gen TouchID in iPad Air (Nothing mentioned on 2020 iPad)
- Bluetooth 5.0 (Air) vs 4.2 (2020 iPad)
So yeah. $80 is a steal. I’d be willing to pay up to $150 difference for Air (considering the above mentioned models)
I’ll be honest boys. I already went with the air 3. Was just looking to justify it lmao.
Thanks for the replies.
How does this compare to the 2nd gen 12.9” iPad Pro? Performance wise.
Is the 2018 iPad Pro still good for 2020 if all you do is game and watch videos?

this is one of the most helpful reviews i have seen thus far, and it's really helping me with my decision on which ipad i should get, especially since it's a pretty big decision for me, a student, as i have decided to work part time in order to save up for one :3
My 2018 11" iPad Pro has been the best bang for the buck given how its technologies are still top of the line.
This is true!!
What about four speakers versus two? When you are listening to music or watching a movie, is it a significant difference?
Yes i tried the air and the pro and the pro is louder and have slight clearer audio quality.

Not only that face ID works for us individuals on iPad that have no use of their arms like me.

Great review and comparison of the new iPad Air 4, which I'm seriously considering upgrading to.
Great video; very informative. If I get the iPad Air but don’t want the smart/magic keyboard, which protective case would you recommend?
I really want Touch ID back on the iPhone. I really hope they can implement the same biometrics as the iPad on the iPhones. Both options would be cool too, but I prefer to use finger... I dislike having to look that the screen to open jt
I got the air 4 this week. I’m so impressed. It’s great!
I thought you were gonna say “that’s just my beautiful dark twisted fantasy” lol

I ve seen so much bashing about the camera on the iPad Air 4. But lets face it, most people are only going to use it as it was intended. Scanning documents and FaceTime calls. I don't see people out there, like I did when the iPad first came out, taking pictures or shooting videos on an iPad.
The pro needs to start running macOS when docked to the magic keyboard and switch to iPadOS undocked

I've seen another vid stating the pro is still better for gaming due to the extra graphics cores. You won't get the dropped frames like you do on the air. If you wait a few more months, the new Pro will be out with the a14x chip and will outperform the air. That's what I plan on doing...
