Forget money, what is the point? Honestly, no judgement. I understand why you have switched to a Mac Mini, but as someone who now has a 12.9 inch 2020 iPad Pro, I leave my laptop at home 99% of the time. My laptop is my new desk setup, so I can't imagine getting a M1 13" MacBook Pro unless I was going to replace my (relatively old) Windows laptop and live that one cable life. hello have a nice I apologise that this bothers me but please explain. To expand on usage, for first time owners, one area an iPad (or any tablet-esque device with a camera, and options for stylus and types text input) is using it as a platform for “idea creation and mapping”. Cursor and keyboard computing tends to be more linear and/or bounded to working on a desk. A sizeable handheld device (bigger than a phone) can serve as a platform for more free form exploration and play (a perimeter of course influenced by the app you use/have access to on the device. If this is or will be useful and purchasing the device provides room you will grow into, it’s a purchase worth considering. Just be aware of aspirational buying when realistically you would end up using the device only for content consumption and need a way to justify the purchase. Nothing wrong per se if you can afford it, but worth a second honest thought if otherwise.

Justin Grigor Very true, but my point was rather to not be blinded too much about how much productivity is referred to happiness. Doesn’t mean one need to be super lazy, but I feel like we humans sometimes tend to get so caught up in rational patterns and believes. It’s getting to philosophical here 😂

I've ordered an iPad Air, and looking forward to using it as a replacement for a 2014 iPad Mini. I see no reason to get the Magic Keyboard; the pricing is getting into Surface 3 area now.
At the end of the day an iPad is a nice complement to a computer, but hardly a replacement for real productivity. In my case, I use my iPad Pro (old model, without pro motion) for fast sketches and illustrations with the Apple Pencil and it's amazing.
The ipad pro 12.9 has changed my life! Im a math teacher and we teach some virtual and some face to face classes in america right now, its incredible!!!!!!

I would have to disagree with you on the iPad changing the student experience. As long as you take handwritten notes, (esp if you’re a STEM major where you need to write math, equations, formulas etc) the iPad is SO WORTH it. Before my iPad, I would have dozens of disorganized loose leafs, overly full binders- it was heavy, clunky, and now with the iPad my workflow is so much more organized, easy, and fluent. No, you shouldn’t buy an iPad to make “pretty” notes. But, if you’re a student that has so many notebooks, loose papers, etc., it will be a GAME CHANGER. Thanks for the review! @@amm9195 i think you would be fine with the 64 gb especially if you have iCloud storage. It really depends on what you are using the iPad for and how long you plan to keep it.

I think if you're planning to take notes and draw extensively, the 120hz on the pros may improve your experience and the extra screen real estate on the 12.9" pro can be useful as well. If not, I think the 2020 air is more than enough for handling the rest of the tasks you mentioned :)
I don't know why I skipped Rene Ritchie's cameo. Maybe I'm used to Ali's 1.5x speed rather than Rene's 0.75x speed And I can see the difference. Maybe I'm spoiled

I was planning to buy this one over the new Samsung S7 tab but eventually ended up buying s7 because of its Android compatibility and better display. Nonetheless, the design of iPad looks beautiful, strikingly similar to S7 11 inch tab.
Good review, went for the 8. gen iPad and not regret it. I wanted and also could have went for the air but I use this as my daily driver at work. As well if needed on the shopfloor. And: I drop things sometimes, which counts also for my iPad. So i went for the cheaper version where it doesn’t hurt to much if i drop it. Oh, and taking screenshots is easy with the ipad: power button plus Touch ID button and that’s it 👍🏻
Just as a quick tip, when you take a screenshot, you can click ‘copy’ in the share menu on the top right and then just paste straight into whatever notes app you are using. Not quite as fast as using the Mac, but way faster than the old method of saving to photo reel etc.

Same here. Just ordered mine 2 days ago. For me the best accessory for the iPad Air would be the USB C hub/dongle, whatever you want to call it..

I got the 256gb air. If you are going to have it longer than a year go for a bigger storage option. 65gb is just for like 5 apps and web surfing

Not only did I listen to the feedback, I learnt from my mistakes, focused on a niche and, most importantly, stayed consistent. Now... my channel is thriving more than I ever expected.
