The most credible reviews are the ones open to being questioned. I've bought from motolegends a few times, but I'm not a fan of censorship when discussing safety. People will buy jeans for comfort and leathers for trackdays. Discussion is important, not to be controlled.

The real need is to test these single layers using the old Cambridge Machine. The new rating is better than nothing or relying on vendor claims but not reassuring. Some sort of slip liner would be better than letting the heat from sliding build up on your skin (or melted UHWMPE) . I still prefer the old Rokker Chinos which repel engine heat (UHWMPE does not) yet are still comfortable in hot humid Mid Atlantic area and there is no concern about melting
The Cambridge machine really is becoming a thing of the past. We used to have these tests done on our own account, but with the number of new jeans coming to market, we cannot afford to test every jean. But truth be told, we don’t feel a need for a Cambridge test where something is AAA rated. Confused by your comments regarding vendor claims. A test result is a test result. AAA tells you that these jeans are strong enough. CP
@@Motolegends Good points. By "vendor claims" I was referring to the case where there is no CE rating just what the vendor says in ads (not meant to be a negative to Rokker as I am a fan-have several of their jeans including the original).
I agree, I'm not convinced they are abrasion resistant as AAA rated equivalent leather jeans but don't want to crash test them myself, or leathers to find out! Testing needs to be like for like so we can draw definitive conclusions.
@UCxL7HiqSQf3QdC1uaH1cpbQ I know it's a minimum standard but when we hear claims that they are as abrasion resistant as good leathers at a comparable price, I have my doubts. That's not to say that jeans don't have a useful place in a biker's clothing collection
@@michaelmclarney1994 It's great to finally see AAA-rated Rokkers, and given the availability and price ranges of the multiple single-layer and lined jeans that can be bought at AAA level from many different brands, we'd suggest that there's no reason to buy AA or A anymore.
However, it is a shame that EN17092 has created a relatively low baseline in the current top standard of AAA, meaning it's easy to infer that all products with that rating perform the same, when that's not necessarily the case at all. MotoCAP in Australia is a very useful reference for those looking for further test results.
Still, EN17092 has at least given riders the chance to make some form of comparison when buying. John
Are they Daytona GTX boots on the mannequin and are they more comfy than race leathers?
I am interested in these jeans. I own the original jeans and I had to size up for those, from waist 32-33 that I wear on other jeans to waist 34. Is the sizing the same as the original Revolution jeans or perhaps another pair like the RokkerTech Slim Tapered jeans? Also can the jeans be hemmed or it is not recommended?
You do not need to size up on new Revolutions. Just go with normal jeans size. We can hem them. Don’t recommend you do it yourself as you could damage membrane.
I care most of all about safety. Its all interesting about the other information -- but why buy jeans for a motorcycle if they are not very, very safe? So what exactly is AAA rating? What does it mean in real life? I live in the Southern USA and its hot all the time and there are no good options for heat so I dont care about breathability as much as if I were to drop -- whats going to happen to me... Especially before dropping $450 for a pair of jeans. Make sense?
Safety and protection are different. You can wear the most protective jeans, but you could put yourself in a situation where you would not be riding safely. It’s a concept known as passive safety. In your case, a waterproof jean like this would be horrid to wear, but in any real hot weather I would go for a more breathable AA jean over a less breathable AAA jean. If you want to know more about the CE ratings system, you need to do a bit of homework. CP

Resurgence Pekev Voyager are the safest Jean ever with >10 seconds slide time and you can get them for around £190. They stretch like no man's business too so they don't impeded your knees from bending easily when you're on the bike.
Jeez, do keep up, WATERPROOF was mentioned many times.

I think I agree with some of the comments here. Why tell us about an old Resurgence jean when what we are reviewing here is something completely different? We launched that original Resurgence jean and , whilst it is impressive, it’s not particularly nice to wear. Chasing AAA for the sake of it is a mistake. It’s not difficult to meet the AAA level, you just use thicker, heavier fabrics. The Revolution is a bit different. It’s an amazing waterproof jean. It just happens to be AAA. CP.
@@Motolegends Fair enough, and I agree with your point about waterproofness. It's just that I see those jeans being overlooked a lot. I find thicker jeans to be more comfortable while riding because they protect from the uncomfortable feel of hard metal surfaces of the bike (depending on the shape of your bike). I've worn the resurgence jeans since 2018 and I find them comfortable even during summer, they don't get logged with sweat in the crotch and waist area and don't feel damp because the wicking works really well. Through winter they are the best of the best. I did a 400 mile motorway journey on them at 2°C and felt alright. In terms of safety you can't ask for a safer jean from waist to ankle. In terms of stretchability, take any other pair of jeans in the shop and you'll struggle to find a more elastic jean, they will stretch to accommodate any big old race boot under them, like my A-stars SMX Plus. Only downside is they are so thick you can't fit them inside any boots comfortably, the boots have to be tucked under the jean but I prefer that anyway. In terms of longevity I've washed mine around 15 times in the last 4 years and done > 10000 miles on them and they are still looking good. In terms of the design, they look like a very premium, classy jean, anyone looking them will see they are top notch from a fashion standpoint, the color looks so good and the finish looks very swarve. The jeans downside are 1) they take a long time to dry and air out for freshness when you wash them because they are are so thick. So washing them during colder months or drying them indoors is a pain. 2) If they get rained on its a pain to dry them because of the point above (so on rainy days put your waterproof later on top) and 3) they shrink significantly if you spin at higher speed or tumble dry (which you shouldn't) but they stretch enough to fit a Michelin man even if they shrink. So I'll concede to your waterproof point but I still think Resurgence are the best brand for jeans by far in terms of safety and comfort (I've tried many other brands) and take your view point of being able to layer for waterproofness like with the Marakesh, especially for people like me who use these jeans for frequent, long motorway trips, all seasons, throughout the year instead of buying adventure style jeans. I'll come to the shop one day to look at the other jeans but it'd be a hard sell to find a better purpose built jean than the Voyager.

You will get soaking in the crotch when riding a Harley, trust me on that. The water runs down the tank and end up like a puddle in your crotch. Not very pleasent.
So THAT'S why Harley riders never smile? 🤣
