But Instead of Siege of Orgrimmar 2.0 we whould get remade zones; Mulgore, Barrens and Durotar with some campaign stories and a raid leading up to Saurfang challenging Sylvanas at the gates of Orgrimmar. Sylvanas then spills the beans and flees. In the 8.3 patch, instead of N'zoth we whould end the expansion with Azshara invading and launching a massive attack on Azeroth, ending with a massive Naga raid on Stormwind. Essencialy ending BfA with a invitation from Azshara to her domain. Then instead of Shadowlands we whould get a whole new expansion called Rise of Azshara. Then they could really had made a better job at fleshing out the Wrathion stuff, given us a more indepth Nazjatar with properly fleshed out zones around it. If Rise of Azshara whould then have a N'zoth final boss they could properly fleshed it out with more then one patch.

I defense of the story of the “why only now?”, well... Mother was the one who discovered how to focus the Forge of Origination’s power to kill only the old god without killing the planet, and ever since the Titans were killed off the facility Mother was in charge of has been isolated and her research kept going. Additionally the Chamber of the Heart was hidden away until Sargeras stabbed Azeroth, so all the pieces that were required to tune the Forge of Origination and the Engine of Nalak to this “surgical scalpel” were not available in the time of the Titans. So this was legit the first time ever in which an Old God could be killed without opening another Well of Eternity level of wound on the planet, so in that sense I think the writing was very consistent with the previous lore. Although I do agree that it felt rushed. In my humble opinion, the Black Empire should have been its own expansion, maybe with revamp of many zones in a level similar to Cataclysm. At least the raid was really good and visually impressive, really sold the idea of this massive god the size of a continent and the terror it represents.
@@gamefan987 Thanks man. Thats the point. N'Zoth had his chance for a good implementation into the story and game. And they just made him "the weakest" and finished it with a Raid patch.

I really hope the ending of the raid is just another dream. I dont mind using the forges cause it's about time they do something with it but they should of finished the ending better
I really hope it's just one of his visions, cause giving us the childrens book of "No, you can't be corrupted, you're a good guy!" then overpowered with strong energy is such a bullshit ending to what could be an amazing villian.
Yeah, what happened with Y’shaarj was a HUGE ASS TITAN reached down to Azeroth and grabbed the old god with his THICK, MEATY FINGERS and ripped the thing out of the ground like a goddamn daikon radish. This created the well of eternity, an enormous bleeding hole in the planet. With N’Zoth, the idea is that we burned the old god down to its roots using Azeroth’s own power, simultaneously destroying N’Zoth and healing the planet without creating a GAPING WELL OF GOD JUICE.
I think that part only matters if you kill the old God on azeroth, they are too deep rooted to azeroth. but nzoth "died" in some other pocket dimension?
hajas ádám That doesn’t make sense though, just because Nzoth died in a “pocket dimension” still means the physical manifestation and imprisoned body of the old god on Azeroth has been killed. The whole point of the old gods corruption to my knowledge was that they were all so deep rooted in Azeroth physically that killing them ruined the actual planet intrinsically and not just because of being ripped out.
@@xaoc6084 the whole point of this patch was he escaped to an other dimension, the waking city? his physical body was not on azeroth? unlike other old gods he was freed from the prison
so let me get this straight: Sargeras stabs Azeroth -> Azerite bleeds out -> we get the Heart of Azeroth -> Azshara actually uses it to free N'Zoth so she can kill him -> we end up using it to kamehameha N'Zoth into oblivion?
Pretty much. Magni also says Azeroth is healed an dont feel the pain anymore, which makes me wonder; did he forget about that humongous sword sticking out of her?
@@Sky_Marshal "Azeroth is a nascent titan, or world-soul, growing within the core of the eponymous planet." - wowhead. Azeroth can be healed even if the sword is still penetrating the planet. The world soul is like an unhatched chicken inside of an egg. The egg shell may be partially broken, but I believe that Aezeroth-- given that she is conscious of her existence(talks to magni, is scared of sargeras & void etc-- is ready to "hatch".
It should have ended like this: - Addicted to the massive amounts of azerite we've been collecting for him, Magni consumes all of it becoming corrupted by N'zoth. - We smack him and deal the final blow with the heart. - N'zoth escapes into shadowlands having made us kill our BFF and hurting azeroth-
With the new Dragonflight Nzoth lines and his lines after Wrathion's "defeat", it stands to be that he very much still is in the background influencing the story.
I think the point is that N'zoth is better at manipulating and controlling other's actions. That must be the reason why Deathwing and Azshara gave us so much more trouble than the old god himself. As soon as we discovered how to counter his mind controlling (his strongest power) he was no match for us. Shame we didn't get to see more from the black empire, though.

N'zoth was the most underwhelming thing they ever made. They better take it back and say "all of this was just an illusion while N'zoth actually killed the world"
They have such potential to involve Yogg'Saron the "God of Death" in the Shadowlands. Though given how this patch ended, that's something that will never be considered by the devs. Shame.
I think that when we healed A zeroth, she purged herself of the Old God corruption. It was stated that the titan spirit is more powerful than even Sargaras.
Not the weakest. That's Azshara's opinion (a believe that ultimately leads her believe she could kill him, ultimatley serving N'Zoth plan even more), N'zoth was second to Y'shaarj in truth but was licking his wounds from a battle with y'Shaarj when the titans came back to "rid the infection"
The black emperor sounds like an awesome ass title. If N’zoth was defeated this lazily then imagine what we’ll got when we fight the void lords. Cause something tells me the next expansion is suck more than this one. Being Ra is suffering.
Well, if you do think more about it, N'zoth has been building along with everything else happening in BFA. It started to really show around 8.2, When the deal with Azshara was made.
Plot idea: Untill we are in Shadowlands meanwhile N’zoth establish Black Empire on Azeroth. This would be good time for Blizzard to update old zones and make them useful. Also make no fly zone for whole Azeroth, skyboxes and exploring black empire. In the end of expansion we will go into real Ny’lotha(not this one).
Thank you for that. Cause it shows that it is not all about the short end cinematic - the end of the Story is the whole raid. Again, thank you for showing that off!!!
I don't think this is the last time we see old octoboss. Remember his ability to fuck with your head is without equal. We fought azshara in the eternal palace in nzoths presence and he is still weakened when we fought him being imprisoned for so long. I think he got in our heads and sent us on this journey to "kill" him. Now that we think he's dead he can rebuild his strength and then hit us with full power. Whatever his plan and the voidlords plan are he has time now to plan and build toward it. And now with us going to the shadow lands and some players having the gift of nzoth the void may have a presence there now just like it has a presence in the seat of the titans because of us. This is a small taste I think the full course will be coming later
Seems pretty clear that the Titans just didn't know anything about the Old Gods. They tried to kill one, and almost killed Azeroth. And still left the lands tainted with its essence. From that perspective, imprisoning them and their corruption forever makes sense. Sure, it didn't work. And for us it seems obvious why, now. But unlike us, the Titans knew next to nothing about them. Also, unlike the others, N'Zoth was not nestled in Azeroth, but in another realm. So his destruction leaves no wound.
Yeah except the titans had been wiping them out for eons prior to even finding Azeroth, and the keepers have been studying them since they imprisoned them. Heck most of the info we have on the Old Gods in the game is provided by the keepers and their allies. And Wrathion who somehow learned more about them in like 5 years than the Keepers and Titans ever did through all of existence. And if the only reason Y'shaarj tainted the land upon his death was because he was literally ripped from the world, then maybe they could have, I don't know, had the keepers use the delete button we use on N'zoth themselves instead of just putting the tentacle bois in boxes and thinking that was good enough. Not to mention C'thun and Yog got retconned to death, literally. Meaning the keepers could have just poked them with pointy things until they died. Heck, the only reason they even killed Y'shaarj personally is because the Old Gods were beating the pants off of the Titanforged. And if N'zoth was in another realm then how did the titans imprison him beneath the sea. Where we know for a fact he was until he wasn't anymore because Blizzard takes to consistency like a cat to water. And if the Old Gods are supposedly on the other side of a veil on an already corrupted Azeroth then why not just, you know, use that one to bring about their Void Titan? Even if it does make sense in the case of the canon, the retcons and just poor handling of it make for an honestly pathetic end for the last big lore villain WoW had. Until Sargeras inevitably breaks free or we learn something about the Void Lords beyond 'they exist and they made the Old Gods'.
after watching and dwelling on the events that happened in this raid, the best outcome would be that N'zoth is pulling a killer bee from Naruto and hiding in the dagger, and is just waiting to pop back out and reform himself. Ogmots journal may make more sense if one of its pages is referring to nzoth as wrathion. "bound by the throne? no, free, FREE!" nzoth was chained at the seat of his empire which would make it his throne
makes sense to me n'zoth greatest power was in his mighty servants and corrupting more to his will, lucky for us he was never released while deathwing was alive. plus for the titans to put all these old gods in cages and keep them there starving i would not expect them to be fully powered up when released. the climax that people wanted from n'zoth is something they built in there heads since story wise i see him more like a fox in a ever shrinking corner who was left no choice but to try an assault us with what ever he had left. the content we got from him was more than c'thun more than yogg saron and more than the sha, individually ofcourse, yet he is the weakest of them fair enough tho he is unleashed, i would consider n'zoth unleashed to be as equal in power to yogg saron imprisoned.
The second the keeper ran into the void leaking into the chamber, I opened my raid journal, and sure enough, a corrupted boss. They seriously need to stop with this damn cliché. There is always someone who gets corrupted and added as a boss to the raid.
With the way Blizzard's writers are going, I'm surprised BfA didn't end with Wrathion sacrificing himself by piloting a Goblin airship laced with Light and Void energy into N'Zoth's body, permanently killing the Old God but killing Wrathion in the process as well.
@@Miko-vi8vq And then in Shadowlands, the plot could be that both the Horde and the Alliance find themselves fighting a losing war against the Jailer and the Maw, only for Sylvanas to show up and pretend to be remorseful over her past atrocities. Reluctantly, the Horde and Alliance team up with Sylvanas to drive back the Maw, only for Sylvanas to turn on both the Horde and Alliance after both factions are drained from this new war. Shadowlands ends with a final battle where the Horde, Alliance, and remnants of the Maw team up in a last ditch effort to stop Sylvanas, only for her to completely obliterate their joint forces and send them retreating in shame. Slyvanas then declares herself the "Queen Bitch of Azeroth". The end...?
I think that everything that went down after N'zoth was released from his prison was just a vision. When the final cinematic plays and we see the outside shot, his tentacles just puff away, instead of collapsing, or at least getting burned away by the beam like everything else, as if they weren't even real in the first place. If N'zoth was fully aware of Azshara's plans from the very beginning he must have known that Sylvanas is planning tear a rift between the two lands, and that we, the players would follow her there to take revange, away from Azeroth. If he started corrupting everything and destroying the world right away after he was released, we would have stayed there and fight against him, with full power. But now that we think we defeated him, and probably got rid of the Hearth of Azeroth at the end of the expansion and going to leave the world, there will be nothing in his way anymore. He now knows our plan of defense in case if he actually emerged and knows where to strike to stop it, and whom to get rid of first. If he was able to make us believe that we were figthing against Wrathion, why couldn't he make us believe that we were fighting against him? If something similar wasn't Blizzards plan, then they could at least save N'zoth this way. All those years of build up just for one lackluster patch (at least story wise) with two zones being invaded here and there seems like a waste and rushed to me. Even Deathwing was a bigger threat than him, and he was supposed to be his puppet.
First of all I think it was a vision as well but I gotta say, I DONT get how people say "all those years of build-up", he has been doing shit since Cata and even WOTLK and even earlier, he has been moving things since AGES, how are people only now noticing his moves? Also Deathwing having more of a prescense actually makes sense, Deathwing has strength, A LOT of strength, thats what he relied on, Nzoth is the exact opposite, in the Shadows scheming.
Ádám Ördögh it would wild if Blizzard actually does something like that, but let’s be real; it ain’t gonna happen. N’zoth went out like a punk-bitch and that’s just how it is, as disappointing as that may be.

Nya Lotha was shown at the center of the shadowlands map reveal, we also know that we fight our way out of “hell” basically and end up in the shadowlands. I think we did lose to nzoth and everything is a vision until the expac comes out
That was the leak from a while back. Its not real. Nyalotha is nowhere on the real Shadowlands map. The place at the center is called Oribos and its our new hub city. Trust me, I wish the Shadowlands leak had been real. But its not.
I can’t tell if “and after I tried so hard to impress you with my dagger handiwork” is about his handling of Xal’atath or about the rogue legendary Fangs of the Father he made long ago

And here it is.
The heart of the Black Empire.
And pew pew pew it's dead and you win.

Prince?
@@samtemdo8 The musician dude; Prince Rodgers Nelson.
ReconCrusader Why? 😂😂
The black Prince indeed
Agreed
I agree, for what it's worth
I lost every respect for Blizzard. The old gods were always one of my favorite threads to Azeroth and now just a side note in the game.

Was rather a disappointing use of this city that was teased 4+ expansions ago. Deadass Deathwing, a minion of N'zoth gave us something better than whatever this is. GG Blizzard.
Shame this was only a raid. I would have liked to explore this world beyond the looking glass.
Quick question: what happened to the "we can't kill old gods or they'll destroy the planet like Y'shaarj almost did" part of the lore?
I think that's only cause they literally ripped that one old god out the planet.
Old Gods should be put back in their prison, not killed.

so let me get this straight: Sargeras stabs Azeroth -> Azerite bleeds out -> we get the Heart of Azeroth -> Azshara actually uses it to free N'Zoth so she can kill him -> we end up using it to kamehameha N'Zoth into oblivion?

Magni consumes all of it becoming corrupted by N'zoth.
- We smack him and deal the final blow with the heart.
- N'zoth escapes into shadowlands having made us kill our BFF and hurting azeroth-
The whole city should have just been a daily quest zone.
22:29 The noise you make when you stub your toe.
With the new Dragonflight Nzoth lines and his lines after Wrathion's "defeat", it stands to be that he very much still is in the background influencing the story.
Patch is called visions of N’Zoth. What if the raid was a lie. N’Zoth isn’t dead he just wants us to think he is.
Technically we only beat Azshara.
The Dragon Soul and Aspects beat DW. The Heart of Azeroth and Titan tech beat N’zoth.

N'zoth was the most underwhelming thing they ever made. They better take it back and say "all of this was just an illusion while N'zoth actually killed the world"
What about the fact that nzoth says: "Complete the circle, open the way"
They have such potential to involve Yogg'Saron the "God of Death" in the Shadowlands. Though given how this patch ended, that's something that will never be considered by the devs. Shame.

I think that when we healed A zeroth, she purged herself of the Old God corruption. It was stated that the titan spirit is more powerful than even Sargaras.
another fantastic video nobbel!

THE SUBTITLES ON THE WRATHION CINEMATIC. WHAT A GEM
Whoever voiced N’Zoth GOT that paycheck
Again, thank you for showing that off!!!
the "naughty words blocker" made me laugh
My biggest question is who did getting rid of N'Zoth heal Azeroth when she was wounded by a big ass sword STILL STICKING OUT OF SILITHIS!!!
So much detail, so much interesting lore, and then straight up GOT Season 8 ending... sad :(
The writing staff actually believed that GOT S8 was masterfully done. And you can see the paralels.
Pelagion Is that true? Because if so then... my god.
CC makes it so much better
makes sense to me n'zoth greatest power was in his mighty servants and corrupting more to his will, lucky for us he was never released while deathwing was alive. plus for the titans to put all these old gods in cages and keep them there starving i would not expect them to be fully powered up when released. the climax that people wanted from n'zoth is something they built in there heads since story wise i see him more like a fox in a ever shrinking corner who was left no choice but to try an assault us with what ever he had left. the content we got from him was more than c'thun more than yogg saron and more than the sha, individually ofcourse, yet he is the weakest of them fair enough tho he is unleashed, i would consider n'zoth unleashed to be as equal in power to yogg saron imprisoned.
Cracked Dagger
Tbh, I would’ve preferred that to what we actually got.

The end...?
What if we messed up with wrathion using the blade to break open the carapass and was suppose to use it at the heart
Fantastic upload as always, Nobble! Hopefully get to game with you again sometime :)
Even Deathwing was a bigger threat than him, and he was supposed to be his puppet.
id want to believe that, but the writers arent anywhere near clever enough for that
First of all I think it was a vision as well but I gotta say, I DONT get how people say "all those years of build-up", he has been doing shit since Cata and even WOTLK and even earlier, he has been moving things since AGES, how are people only now noticing his moves? Also Deathwing having more of a prescense actually makes sense, Deathwing has strength, A LOT of strength, thats what he relied on, Nzoth is the exact opposite, in the Shadows scheming.
Ádám Ördögh it would wild if Blizzard actually does something like that, but let’s be real; it ain’t gonna happen. N’zoth went out like a punk-bitch and that’s just how it is, as disappointing as that may be.
I havent played BFA, but this raid looks magnificent, I love the "living and breathing" raids/dungeons where you actually navigating through some place and not just jumping from boss to boss
That would explain how Wrathion got the Blade of the Black Empire in the cutscene during the raid. I do hope we see Azshara and Xal'atath again
