    I loved the pace of the tutorial. It went quickly and thoroughly through the COM functions. I could then scroll back to the sections I wanted to review. You didn't waste my time. Quick and to the point. Most tutorials would cover the same information in 30 minutes and I would have to watch it at 2x speed. Keep up the GREAT work. I can not wait to see the rest of the videos.
    One function you missed. Hold the swap key for 3 seconds and it puts 121.5 into the active frequency.

    Fantastically done! I’m just a flight simmer, but I love understanding how all of this works. I use a Garmin GTN750 but have heard a lot of the UA-cam pilots raving about the Avidyne. Now I see why. Looking forward to the next installment.

    Thanks, looking forward to the other videos - excellent production quality. I think this may be the system in my program's SR22, which I'll be flying soon so this is great.

      Thanks for the feedback. The IFD makes an excellent navigator for the Cirrus - you'll love it!

    Thanks Martin. That was a simple but to the point explanation. I bought my IFD440 from Chase @ Avionics Source 18 months ago. Great guy to deal with.

      @@martinpauly Thanks Martin, I really do. Thanks for doing your videos. I’ve been following you for quite some time. I’ve gotten back into flying after a 15 year break (back then, I had a loran C, no gps!) Your videos have really helped me get back into the saddle. I used to own a ‘53 V tail but now I have a ‘65 M20C. Still need to get IFR current.

    What a nice idea for us, (non pilots), to learn how this new technology works.

    Hello Martin from Sydney, Australia
    Avidyne IFD GPS navigator.
    Thank you for the experdious tutorial: you have produced a great learning resource for the IFD.
    Q1. Are you quick, or, my listening skills compromised?
    Anyways- it is now on the database for instructional use.
    Best wishes

    Much better after I slowed it down a bit (thanks for the tip, Martin). I have the 440 in my newly acquired TB20 and I'm a raw beginner on this unit. I've been using the downloaded simulator on a iPad at home, but some of the functions don't match the real unit.

    Anyone know how to listen to a standby frequency?

    • @martinpauly
      @martinpauly  3 місяці тому +1

      The standby frequency needs to be wired to an input of the audio panel. Not all installations have that connection.

      Thanks Martin. I have Garmin GMA345 which has two AUX channels. Could I use AUX1 for Com1 standby and Aux2 for Com2 standby?
