You made it onto the Boks promo video, great work Tim - you’re moving up in the rugby space. Welcome back to The Republic 🇿🇦 can’t wait to follow your journey in South Africa
Gotta tell ya Tim, as a Boks fan here in the USA, you are my go to source for insightful, expert, unbiased, rugby commentary. And from a “rooinek” nogal !! Your exceptional success is totally deserved. Bloody well done mate !!
Very happy with nz 23, probably our strongest named this year, and expect a little more impact off the bench. Boks will be immense. Rucks n mauls could be vicious. Will be happy with a NZ 80min performance, although unsure it'll be enough. Can't wait
I hope he knows you all mean first team sweater. He probably knows but then again maybe not that it's usually an honour as you can't just buy those you have to earn them. Like matric jerseys.
Tim, you’ve seen South Africa in winter and you still love it. Just wait until spring and then summer! The golf courses will be as green as the Irish valleys, and Cape Town’s beaches will be buzzing. I really hope you can visit in the summer, outside of rugby season.
Not even this fan from the northern hemisphere is doubting the All Blacks. No one of influence in South Africa are doing that either. Maybe you are doubting the Springboks? 😂
I wish I knew as much about rugby as Tim does, I can only imagine how exciting it must be to watch a game with that brain. But after each video I am a little less dumb and for that I wish you many wood-fired braais in your future.
Always good seeing you here in South Africa, Tim!! You’re in for a treat on Saturday. There is NO bigger test match in rugby. You’ll see. Travel safe here and God bless.
Welcome back Tim. Nice to have you here again even in a Monnas top! :-) The All Black's have put together a great team and the Springboks will have to bring their A-game and dominate the set pieces. We will also have to keep an eye on the AB's game in the lose and on Beauden Barrett and mark him very closely. He is just pure rugby magic and will punish any ill discipline. It is going to be one for the books.
Tim...South Africas Prodigal son returns..hope you and your family will once again enjoy your stay in our beautiful hospitable country. .contrarorary to Kiwis view of our country...even though our respwct for the Abs runs deep...we seem to be a hostile barbaric country. 😂😂😂Clash of giants...looking forward to this epic clash🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
@andrewfyfe8986 did you see the interviews with your rugby lads? As well as I think NZ sports commentators talking about our hostility...it's pure rugby rivalry not a reflection of our country...talking about rugby fans throwing bottles at their bus...as if we are a pure barbaric country...not cool...that is not who we are mate
@@RozWentworthseen all those comments you’re talking about and I think they mean it from a competitive mind games point of view, not that they’re actually scared for their lives when Marshall said the bus was being rocked and what not. No danger, just the passion of the fans there is enough to unsettle the mind
@user-eq9jv5uf7d dude.. sarcasm is the lowest form of wit...I do not expect Kiwis dish out slanderous remarks like what happened in World cup semi's....
I think you might be right Tim about S. Africa only having one real playmaker in the backline. Puts a heap of pressure and responsibility on Sasha. Stars stand up in big moments.....let's see!
Welcome back Tim. So nervous and excited for this game. With the Boks and ABs. It's always anybody's game, regardless of what games have been, or what punters are saying.
Welcome to Jozi and the Highveld! Tomorrow’s game might make the Stade de France meeting for the RWC final look like a warm up. Great to have Sam Cane take the field … and our Boks led by Siya of course!
Backing the Boks to win but not by more than 3 points. So envious of all those going to the match..the atmosphere in the stadium is going to be amazing. Oh by the way welcome back to you English African Rugby Wild Dog and your Family
Hi Tim! It would be so great if you could do a short Q&A and autograph session while visiting. Enjoy your visit and enjoy the games. Sorry about the weather in Joburg today. Also, pat a dassie on Table Mountain and feed a squirrel in the Company Gardens.
Can't wait, these games are almost always tight and intense affairs, true test matches, SA go in as favorites, but don't be surprised if the ABs do something special. Best rugby rivalry on the planet. #GoABs
Have a wonderful time in my home country! Enjoy the rugby, the people, the food, the experiences... everything! And please keep posting these great reviews. If you're up to collaborating with any rugby pundits, I would not recommend Keo & Zels (as many here have), but rather the Boks Office guys (Shimmy, Jean dV & Schalk Burger) who really know their rugby and produce excellent podcasts (broadcast via rugbypass tv & usually held at Bishops School (Diocesan College) in Cape Town). Enjoy & stay safe in our beautiful land. Looking forward to your post-match hot takes & coverage of your travels in SA.
Aus knows where things have gone wrong and are still going wrong. RA is not funding rugby union sufficiently at grassroots level. You have to catch players at schools (before they get hooked into NRL & AFL) by making union available at all schools, not just private schools. RA had Andy Marinos who could've turned things around, but he was basically bullied into leaving (losing battle against McLennan who had a different vision). RA replaced Marinos with Waugh who fits the elitist, private school agenda... and who has wasted millions of $ on saving his beloved Tahs. Until RA gets its act together and focuses on what is necessary to turn things around, it's highly unlikely that things will improve. In fact, at this rate, union will be going backwards (especially ito succession planning & blooding younger players to move up the ranks). RA could learn a lot from Rassie & Co ito embedding union as an accessible sport to all. Just look at the level of competition at Craven Week, the annual derby in Paarl, etc. Australian rugby union needs all the help it can get to survive... and it starts from the top down, which sadly, is not happening. Very sad to see a once-great RU nation struggling and playing so poorly.
As a Welshman who has lived and played rugby in Aus for 30 years I love your unbiased appraisal of rugby. I have followed the eggchasers podcasts for many years and love it. Personally I would love more focus on pacific 12 comp but I guess you can only watch so much rugby (as my wife tells me when I watch MLR and Premiership). Keep up the good work on the UA-cam videos and for the sake of good order catch up with boys from the KoKo show (kick off and kick on) in Aus as it may be a great collaboration in the making . The content on UA-cam is great as the analysis is good and then followed up by the game day experience . 👍
Have you watched the Boks Office podcasts broadcast by rugbypass tv? Three former Springboks (Shimange (Shimmy), Jean de Villiers & Schalk Burger Jr) who often have special guests on the show. They recently collaborated with the KoKo show, and I thought their content had more substance (but still fun & relaxed). And Big Jim is also great.
Tim does not get nearly enough credit for doing basically all of his content in one take. So impressive.
Good observation
He enjoys doing it. To him its like talking to a friend at the braai fire
Bigtime - I was thinking this very thing the other day. Loads of UA-cam content is super chopped up and edited - Tim is a real pro
To be fair in comparison to other grassroots UA-camrs Tim was already a professional journalist
Couldn't agree more, good comment
