- In this video I show you the Verizon LTE network extender that can be used to boost your cell phone signal to get better cell reception at home by using a 4G LTE Network Extender. This is great for those people who are are working from home and need better cell phone signal.
There are many LTE Network Extenders to choose from, these are some of the best ones:
Verizon LTE Network Extender on Amazon (same as shown in video): geni.us/bfAqz (Amazon)
Verizon LTE Network Extender on eBay (same as shown in the video): ebay.us/UtBBTp
Samsung LTE Network Extender for Verizon: geni.us/im9E (Amazon)

I was on the phone with Verizon tech for over an hour... they had me reset the box 3 times.... the problem was no one was telling me to turn my phone off and back on... thank you for this video! because of it I'm not switching to at&t....Lol
You're welcome!
@@ZadiusTech Can you put it on airplane mode then back off
Ty
Thank God for this video!!! Spent an hour on the phone with Verizon with no resolution, but this video fixed everything in under 5 minutes!!
Krista, which part did you have a problem with?
@@ZadiusTech Verizon could not explain to me where the antenna was located. They failed to say I needed to remove the back cover. They kept asking me to move the unit closer to a window. my extender kept searching for a gps signal, but as soon as I located the antenna it worked!! Verizon literally just wanted to send another unit to me. I'm so grateful for the video, because otherwise I'd still be suffering with poor service and waiting for a new unit when the last one was perfectly fine.
I just had the same issue!!!!! I wish there was a way to share it with them!!!
Thank you so much for downloading that video about how to attach that network extender to the network! It is so important to my business, and to my lifestyle that I can walk from room to room and not drop a call! You were amazing and I just want you to know you were truly appreciated! Bless you!
You're welcome!
I just wanted to add a few notes in case other people find this video and are having issues, if you keep getting the 5A error the most likely cause is the MAC address was not properly scanned into the verizon system when you bought it at the store, this is an issue caused by different length MAC addresses and isn't even the fault of the guy at the store, it's an issue within verizons software (a guy I know used to work for verizon).
Don't immediately freak out if it seams to be taking a long time to connect to the different servers, when we set ours up we spent over 45 MINUTES on the "connecting to HeMS Server" and I read on forums it can take over an hour to connect to everything during the initial setup, so as long as you aren't getting an error message just let it run.
The GPS antenna has nothing to do with your signal strength, it is simply a federally regulated requirement, when you dial 911 your phone uses it's GPS data to know which 911 call center to send you to, when you connect to this you aren't connected to a standard cell network so you can't be GPS located by the network and so the device has to have a GPS device with a location lock so it can route you to the proper 911 center when you are connected to the extender.
What this device essentially does is it uses your internet connection to connect to Verizon servers and makes it's own little cell tower.
Once setup this thing is AWESOME, we have an outbuilding near the main building, in the main building we have the wifi router on the lower level and a wireless repeater on the main level on the side closest to the outbuilding (this extender is on the side of the main level opposite the outbuilding) and in that out building my phone using the Speedtest app would only see 10-11 Mbps down speed on Wifi but when I turned wifi off and ran the test connected to this Network Extender it was up around like 46-47 Mbps down speed and the RANGE, Oh My God, i've made a phone call from more then 250 Feet away, more then double the distance of the wifi, the only way I can get wifi to reach that far is with a directional Yagi style antenna, but those antennas have a very narrow beam, this thing has that range in every direction, a large percentage of the property has fully functional verizon coverage now.
We used to use one of those Wilson Cell Repeaters because at the highest level of the building we could get a bar or 2 of cell coverage, but over time the trees have grown and the coverage from that has just reached the point of being maybe a bar or 2 right next to the repeater where you are lucky to get a picture text to go through and so we had switched to Wifi Calling but the bosses Iphone just always wanted to send texts via the cell network instead of using wifi calling (unless he was texting another iphone), this solved all the issues of the crappy signal and was frankly so much easier then dealing with cell repeaters. Unlike Cell Repeaters like the Wilson device this is it's own cell tower, so if you are in an area with NO CELL COVERAGE, this is how you get cell coverage.
Kept getting - Server Error 5A. Was never able to speak to a human at Verizon, only typing to bots. One of the 7 or 8 text “helpers “ asked for my MAC address on the unit and it did not resolve the problem, even after resetting the unit numerous times. Returned the unit because I could not get any resolution. The Verizon manager could care less about my issues when I returned the unit. Verizon does not care about the consumer….
Awesome video!
The instructions provided by verizon are just 5 steps, the online help is pointless.
Thank you for putting this video together!
GREAT JOB! You did a terrific job. Clear, concise, and complete.
The satellite connections have no bearing on the cell phone connection. It's merely there to give a location to the phone in case of an emergency. Except for an "Error" message (6a, I believe), which can be ignored, you can use the Extender without the satellites. The box of the Extender is like a cell phone tower; by going through the Internet it gives a "wired"-like signal to the towers and to the person you called, without the interference of a breakup in the signal, or structural or atmospheric conditions interruptions.
I got this error code. How can I ignore it? I plugged it into a Ethernet port at work. I’m assuming the issue I’m having is because our internet at work has too many security restrictions, or due to structural interference. It’s a brick building with no window to look outside. The area I put the extender is an area I get good service on my phone.
Any tips?
The GPS Signal is also for timing and to ensure you're not trying to use the extender outside of the Verizon service area.
Why does it need to be connected to a router when this is basically a signal booster?
Your instructions were extremely helpful! I was able to connect but can you tell me why it still says 0/14 devices connected?
THANKS! Never would have figured this out w/o your clear explanation!!!
Glad to help!
Thank you! So much more helpful than calling Verizon
Happy to help!
Way more helpful than verizon
If your wifi goes down from a power outage you lose the extender too, extender is really the wrong word for this device, this is a micro cell tower that uses your internet as a hardliners connection to Verizon, the GPS is purely for geo location so if you dial 911 they can tell where you are.
I noticed that too when he made the comment about the wifi going down due to an outage 😂
Had this issue, however I solved this issue. I recently purchased a APC Battery Back-Up for my VWNE & my internet modem, power goes out, I still maintain internet & phone! 🙏
Because my entire home as well as detached garage have metal siding, they both act as faraday boxes for my cellular devices. I called VZW yesterday, and they actually are sending one of these units out to me for free. Excited to see you had such an improvement; hopefully I see similar results.
How did it go
You have to plug this in to a wired connection? I'm just looking for a signal amplifier, if I had wifi then I wouldn't need better signal.
That's what I told the Verizon rep and she acted like that was a dumb thing to say. She didn't understand that if I have Wi-Fi, my signal isn't an issue
Right?! I'm calling in the morning, this is ridiculous.
This device is useless if you don't have internet. It's basically talking to a satellite in space, converting the signal into a mini cell tower in your own home. This doesn't talk to any nearby EXISTING cell towers in your area.
If someone had broadband internet access (that's technically a better connection and data to have), why would you want to to improve your cellular connection?!
Exactly how do we know it's not just using the wifi speed ..wtf this is the dumbest shit I've ever seen
I got hoodwinked by Verizon. My second LTE Signal Extender will not work! It was contingent upon my keeping Verizon...should be name Surprizon. I got screwed. Now they have my phone that I paid for and I m now in debt with now better circumstances than before I kept them. So done with Verizon!!!!
The extender works great at my house! Finally! 🎉
Thanks so much for the info. Clear and concise steps. My extender should be here in a couple of days. I hope that solves my issue as well.
Thanks for helping me set up my extender. This video made it easy and helped when I was getting the server error.
You're welcome! Glad it worked for you.
Just curious... Am I better off being on 1 or 2 bars of 5G coverage, or 4 bars of 4G coverage that this device provides?
Also, where is this stronger signal actually emanating from, the Extender box, or from my FiOS modem/router? Reason I ask is that the Extender is somewhat hidden away in a basement, with signal that would the have to travel upwards through a few floors and through concrete walls.
I assume this would work properly if I plugged it into a cat 5 cable off the main line coming into the house, and put this device in my office, where the problem of a poor signal exists. That should be the same as plugging it into the router as done in this video shouldn't it? Thanks.
What's the advantage of having this if you already have WiFi calling?
I would love to know that answer as well?
Maybe to send text messages through cellular data that aren’t iMessage which runs through internet
So you connect it to your router, will it still extend your signal if you have no wifi?
Just got one today & hooked it up with ur video. Thanks!
Great to hear!
The comments on all these videos are discouraging.
Thanks for the video!! I went from 1 or 2 bars to 5 bars 4gLte
One VERY important side-note here...if you have more than one of these devices do NOT have them close to each other. This will cause one of the unit's built-in radios to become disabled, and will not re-enable even after a factory reset. Only the Verizon networking team can do this on the back-end (Ask me how I know).
How would I know if the built-in radios were damaged? If they both boot up and say: 'Service Active', is that proof that both are fine? I have a strange problem where I have 5 full bars, but while the person I'm talking to can hear me perfectly clearly, THEIR voice is distorted on my end. Tried different phones, calling different people. Same results. If you have an idea what the problem is, I'd sure appreciate it. (Verizon guy said it's a first for him, especially since I have 5 full bars. It's been elevated to Tier 2, but you seem to know a lot about this.) Thanks in advance.
Yes Verizon just sent me this device and it works great
This box robs tte internet service you have. It’s not boosting the cell signal, it’s boosting the modem output.only works if your modem is working .
Can you top in with a different provider?
Thank You for this video was wondering were the antenna was I am going to pull the antenna out this video is very helpful
Not sure if this was an issue 2 yrs ago? If you get a Verizon network extender and do not white list your devices, every Verizon phone within range will not be able to make or take calls without them dropping. I am no longer with Verizon due to an unknown neighbor getting one of these devices. Verizon is the only company where this is an issue.
Thank you so much we have a Verizon Extender. And your video gave us more information about it, like how to check if our phones are running under the Verizon Extender. Also, we didn't know that we can use this extender in case our wifi is down. Last month our wifi went down for almost 18 hours, we didn't have celphone service on that long hours. So next time this happens again, all we have to do is go to hotspot, is that right? And our cellphones will pick up the Verizon Extender. Before, we thought the reason we can't get good service on our cellphones is due to our devices we're just 32G's, so we bought new 5G's smartphones and we still have the same problem. So we called Verizon again told them our new smartphones ain't doing any better. So they sent us this Extender. Now we have 4 bars and good service. Sometimes the LTE doesnt show but what matters is we have 4 bars and our cellphones are working good. Thanks again and you have a blessed weekend! ❤️🙏
Emily, this LTE Network Extender REQUIRES your home Internet to be working, so turning on your hotspot on your phone will not use the LTE Network Extender if your home Internet is not working.
Will this boost signals for T-mobile and Att customers as well?
If the power goes down unless you have backup power generation you’re still not going to have WiFi or the network extender or a viable phone charging solution.
Your video is very concise & helpful, however, despite using the antenna, my extender never gets past the “searching for a GPS signal…” display. It stays on that for hours. Any idea on how I could get past this step? I’ve been in contact with Verizon but they’re useless lol.
Gps works off satellite not internet or cell coverage go outside and try
Another web suggestion that I saw, is to push the reset button on the back (Bottom) of the box. That may help.
Were you able to find a solution? I'm currently dealing with this.
Great video! I just received my lte extender from Verizon and I hope to be able to properly install it using this video.
Just got mine, this video helped me wait out the setup. Thank you!
Now your neighbors can suck up all your data from your WiFi connection. This thing has no security and anyone nearby with a Verizon phone will be using this extender.
Can someone please explain the point? If it requires your existing internet/router, why wouldn't you just enable WiFi calling on your phone, and not have to have another device?
How is this better than just enabling wifi calling?
Coming back to answer my own question
Now that I have it , the call quality is way better than wifi and the sms service is much better than wifi as well
BUT
You have to reboot this damn thing nearly every day , you just never know when its going to stop working
Does the data you use counted in the 30GB (or whatever it is) cellular data cap?
Your video is very helpful. Thank you for creating it. I wish my phone would connect to the extender but it won't. Thanks again
Great video. My network extender is always stuck on "Connecting to SeGW Server, Please wait..." I have spent countless hours on the phone with Verizon - do you have any suggestions with this step? I have your same modem and even tried bypassing my router and it still wouldn't get past the "SeGW" step.
Not sure if you ever solved this, but after we got through the issue of the of the MAC address not being entered into the Verizon system correctly (5A error) and we then power cycled the device we appeared to get "stuck" on the "connecting to HeMS server" for over 45 minutes, I walked away and just gave it time, I read on a forum it can take like an hour or so to connect to all the servers on the first time.
Excellent video, short, sweet, simple!
Glad you liked it!
It's on its way. Do you think I can connect the Ethernet cable to a mesh access point vs the modem / router? That access point is closer to a window than the modem/router, which is in the middle of a room.
If you internet service goes down so does the extender
this video was very helpful. Had nothing but connection problems and it still took a good hour
with Verizon to get them to activate some stupid code.
Now that it’s “live” i’m back up to full strength
With my luck i’ll loose internet connection next😀
What code did Verizon provide you?
So I'm confused now because we use a Jetpack device from Verizon for our internet (no modem or router to connect to) yet they still sent me one of these, claiming it would boost the signal to the Jetpack and our phones. Do I need to send it back or can this function off the same data source it's extending?
The LTE Network Extender requires you to have home broadband internet. If all you have is the Jetpack I'd return it.
Will it work if connected to a tp wifi range extender and do I need to be close to a window? My router is in my kitchen. Will it still work.
No I not going to do that I'm going with a different phone company
Will this connect to ,y router wirelessly I have TMO ho,e internet but to get a signal my gateway is in my attic
Hopefully, this is not what I'm getting from Verizon this week. I have a 5g business modem. My business is located in the basement level, so cell signal is already weak. The speed that I'm getting is 65-70mbps out of the estimated 200mbps.
The cable modem layout that I had before I changed to Verizon 5g Business, placed the main modem out of the way, a few meters from the door, under the table. So I would need a device that could be placed near or at the door to take in, and wirelessly transmit the 5G signal to the router.
Is this device simply connecting to and transmitting the signal that the faraway router is already picking up?
Your better off using wifi calling. This device keeps verizon customers to use there wifi providers along with all the neighbors around. Verizon has it rigged up where you can't make it a closed network. The confirm button does not work so all your neighbors will be using your wifi. The range says 50ft radius but that is false.
Is the router connection only for setup or does it need to stay plugged in forever? I'm getting "server error 5A" and I have it plugged into a router satellite but not the main internet one. It's inaccessible
The router needs to stay plugged in. The device relies on your internet connection to work.
It’s my understanding that the extender requires a connection to the WiFi router or gateway in order to function. If there is no active connection to THR ISP, the extender is essentially useless, correct?
Correct, a high speed wired internet connection is required.
@@ZadiusTech then what's the point? One can just make and recive calls via wifi! I need a similar device that doesn't have to be connected to router
@@dodgeramsport01 the point is in the area where I live I only get one bar of service maybe two at times. Your phone won't connect to wifi calling if you can't get a steady 3 bar cell connection.
@@100chelsealyn thats not true... you can have zero bars and still use wifi calling. because it uses wifi, not cell service. its literally in the name.
@@jon6288 I’ve tired to make a call with “no service” displayed at the top with WiFi calling on and it kept saying call failed, never even rang… this device does use your WiFi but more so like a spine for the whole skeleton
Does it use wifi data? Or just the antenna
No one offers Wi-Fi in my area and I talked to Verizon about Wi-Fi and not having good connection.. they said they will send me this to help boost my phones connection.. but I still am not offered internet.. is this able to run without Wi-Fi?
So you have to connect to the extender? How about when you leave your house and come home? Do you have to keep reconnecting? Do friends have to connect to the extender each time they come over?
Great question 🙋♀️ I was wondering the same
Phones and other device should automatically connect to the network extender within 5 mins, if it didn't. Just restart your phone and wait for another 5mins and it never fails as long as you can see that the network extender is connected to atleast 1 satellite. (The satellite is actually the # of cellular tower's radio signal that can reach your network extender within or nearby cities or neighbouring states.
Mine automatically connects. So far. I've only had it 3 days.
So since its based on your internet router, I'm guessing if the power goes out it wont work right?
I was advised by Verizon that this will help even when away from home. Is this true?
I put the extender near window, not on wall or window as owner doesn't want to ruin them, but still doesn't work. Is attaching it by adhesive necessary?
I didn't hear about this on the video, but is it possible that BOTH my WIFI from ATT *AND* VZ signals are improved? It has on two iPhones, an iPad, and my MacBook Air...Apple anomoly or sleight of hand?
Thanks very much for your presentation. We have a Velop range extender from Linksys for our wifi. We've been getting horrible reception and lots of dropped calls with our Verizon plan. Can I add the Verizon LTE network extender plugged into the back of the router [Arris]? Will there be any interference between the two systems? A rep's suggestion was that we should upgrade to a premium account. What gall! We pay enough and our problem seems to be the result of heavy tower usage in our area. Verizon sent us the unit for free but I'm not sure if we can use it.
I like the clock in the background where did you get it from?
I’m wondering if it uses alot of Internet use we have a limited amount any idea
Can you lock the users able to connect with managed access?
Great video, very helpful. I can't get past Server Error 5A -- I've tried your suggestion of putting the antenna to the window, changed router connections, but no luck, it does show 9 of 13 GPS satellites connected. Cannot reach Verizon on phone and the online chat is useless -- any suggestions?
Don't know if you solved this, but for others the 2 most likely issues are the Devices MAC address didn't get activated in Verizons system properly when you bought it or you need to do some port forwarding in your router.
Yes....buy a Tracfone.
will a 4g network extender work with a 5g phone?
Yes it will.
Yes
If my Wi-Fi goes down. Can I still use the phone with the extender as a hotspot? I had no idea I needed to plug it into my router. Thanks a lot for the video, I really appreciate guys like you.
No, your internet is the connection to Verizon, this device creates its own cell signal for your phone to connect to then routes the data through your internet to Verizon servers.
@Daniel's Corner mise well use wifi seems pointless.
Should I put it on the window or next to it
Does it have to be connected to router or can it be wirelessly
Does this LTE extender work without plugging it into my internet router or modem?
No.
Thank you so much! Really appreciate the assistance!!
Verizon asked me to try this because of my dropped call problem. The video was great, was able to get setup easily by following it. I appreciate your help with this or it would be back in the box. :) I'm confused though. I just bought an iPhone 13 Pro and a new 5G unlimited plan to go with it. Am thinking that this device is only for 4G. I did go from 2 bars to 4 bars exactly as you said though. Not sure what I just did as far as 5G goes.
Thank you so much! The video was very helpful!
What’s the radius for this device? Will it work outside your home 100 feet away or just inside?
Works fine in my backyard.
The Verizon clip I saw says I need 10mps of Upload speed. I have 2.- 3 Mps. I'm guessing I am SOL?
worth every minute. Thank you
How long does it take to connect to the router?
Mine worked great until it didn’t. They sent me a new one and it has the same error message Server error 9a. Any one else have this issue?
I have a mobile virtual network operator that is using the Verizon towers. Does the unit you have described enable WIFI calling or is it actually boosting the cellular signal? Or to described my question another way, if I disable WiFi on my iPhone, will the unit boost or provide an alternate cellular signal? Also, I am operating on Verizon Band 5 - will this work. Thank you.
The unit actually boosts the cellular signal. On the cellular connection I went from having one bar to full bars while at home. I did not need to register anything with Verizon.
This device creates its own little cell tower and transmits that data via your wired home/business internet connection to Verizon servers, it is NOT A CELL BOOSTER that grabs existing cell service and repeats it like say a Wilson cell booster does, this requires an always on internet connection.
I just moved and have one bar. I just got the extender but waiting for internet to be installed. It's it best to put it in the highest level of the house? When guest come over will it connect their phones automatically if they are on Verizon? Awesome video
This basically works like a Verizon cell tower in your house, so anybody that's on Verizon can connect to it.
I just installed this and everything was setup and went from 1 bar (if that) to full bars with a speed test of 50mbps on lte. However when I’m on calls I still get intermittent dropped calls. WiFi calling is turned off and I enabled ports on router to make sure it was fully compatible. Any ideas why it’s still happening? I’m using iPhone 12 Pro. I checked the alarm history on the network extender and it states: sctp link failure and IPSec down occasionally. I really thought that using the lte network extender would solve all my dropped calls issue. Using WiFi calling prior to using the network extender was useless Bc I still needed good lte connection for WiFi calling to drop any calls.
I have the same problem

if no power, no wifi, if no wifi no extender, if isp is down you are back to square one, I had to move back to t-mobile, in some spots Verizon just does not get good or any signal.
I am having issues connecting my iPhone 12 Pro to this. Is anyone else running into that issue?
Do you absolutely need Wi-Fi to make this work?
Can this be used along with the home internet gateway?
This thing does not work. I put the antennae oustide on my roof and it still couldn't connect. Garbage.
When I push that one button it does nothing , doesn’t even light up the booster little corner screen. Is their something I’m doing wrong ?
will this work in areas that dont get any signal but you have good home internet?
yes, that was the case for me. I had only 1 bar of signal and often couldn't make calls or send text. This solved that problem.
@@ZadiusTech so this kind of works in essence of the same principles of using the iPhone’s WiFi calling feature but you don’t have to give out your WiFis password to guest. Second does this exclusively work only for guests who use Verizon as their carrier?

You can plug it into any ethernet port that has access to the internet.

Dumb question but if power goes down for my house WIFI, then how would you use the network extender? Doesn't it require the power and ethernet to the extender box to work or once it is set up the box is no longer needed?
When you loose power you'll loose the extender signal, just like you'll loose your wifi
Can you confirm something? The older network extenders one would have to call Verizon and add it to their account. Is this step no longer needed? Is it just plug and play as your video suggests? Or, did you register it to your account prior to making the video? Thanks
It's plug and play I didn't need to call Verizon.
@@ZadiusTech Thanks fr that, I just ordered one.
I can confirm one does need to register this unit with Verizon. I purchased mine off Amazon, plugged it in, and while it registered the GPS and network, it would not do anything until Verizon added it to the account.
I have the Verizon Wi-Fi and I’m wondering if this Would boost that Wi-Fi signal
No, this is for the cellular signal only.
This thing is a crazy data hog! My only option for Internet is satellite and it’s expensive to say the least. I was accustomed to my data limit and living with the restrictions. BUT this extender has devoured my allotted data. Danged if I do, danged if I don’t. Farm living is no convenient 😔
This Verizon extender needs to connect to my home router for it to work? This makes no sense to me
So this thing just plugs into my verizon internet gateway cube? help lol

Not that I am aware of.
Do I put it in the Lan or either net
