Love how Decter decided 'not' to use the bridge. Walked a few times in the lakes, more often walked in the Dales. A few years ago we walked from Windermere to Ikley, in 4 days. We covered 29 miles in the last day. It rained every single day!!

The Lake District is one of my favourite areas in the UK. In other times, I enjoyed rambling about the footpaths through the hills. This was a very nice production, and I wish you both good health and safety.

The very first places my husband took me in the UK (like right off the plane) was Stoke Bruerne but then we went to the Lake District. And so began my deep and abiding love for the fells, the becks, the stone walls, the people, and the gingerbread. We've been back so many times that I recognized many of the roads you were on. Thank you for taking me along.

We are hoping to have it done by August, we have bought just the shell (50ft trad) and are fitting it out ourselves so it will take us a little bit of extra time. We have the engine in now, ballast, insulation windows etc, it's now just 2 more coats of paint and the hull and just the fit out to do in-between working. I will bring an extra large bottle of gin 😁🍸🍸🤪🤣

Been watching your vlog since the beginning and am always eagerly looking forward to your next offering despite the paucity of boats. I have always been impressed with quality of your photography (and edits) but this vlog was just stunning--both photography and landscape. Can't wait to see the finished boat and the videos you choose to create and then release. But really, no pressure. Keep up the good work (as I'm sure you will) but be safe.

Paul and Anthony all we can say is WOW!!! What a beautiful area of England Keswick is! The drive up to this area looks just spectacular. Makes us want to find a neat little cabin and cook, explore and have a nice bottle of wine or two. Anthony is this an area that you would suggest taking a holiday? We loved the shot of you two and Dexter in the lovely valley. The village of Grasmere looks like such a quaint place to relax and do a bit of shopping. Just our type of place. WOW! Well, I'm gonna start by saying I'm amazed by how much commonality there is in my life (past and present) and yours. As you know I grew up in Upholland and have lived in the US now for 30 years. So, our back yard (like the L to L canal) is the same. My dad (now passed) taught us the all of the wonders of the Lakes as we grew up. I spent 1-2 weekends a month there in the last 2 years I lived in the UK. It's ironic you posted this today. I work for a Swedish company. This is the week we normally have our front-line meeting in Sweden. It normally finishest on the Thursday. I fly from Copenhagen to MAN overnight at the airport Hilton. I then pick up a rent car from Hertz and drive straight to the Lakes. So, point is this is the time I would normally have been there. I really appreciated this VLOG but watched it with a great deal of sadness too for obvious reasons. You did cover some of the good spots that I visit. I also usually drive Wrynose, Langdale and Hard Knot pass. Next time you are there see if you can find White Marsh common. Stephen Townsend (sure you know him as a local painter) painted a landscape/animal portrait (he is famous for this) called "Our Valley" which I can tell you hangs proudly on my living room wall. When you get to where the exact place the painting was painted from you will see to the left a tree that is looking rather worse for the ware. I planted the tree 12 years ago and under the tree is a little box containing the ashes of a dear loved pet (Sammy). She was the one before my current Siamese cat Claire. If you find it you will see the most amazing view looking down from the hills over Rydal Water. I'll be showing this VLOG to my friends later. They'll get a better idea of what the Lakes is like based on this. Pictures only say so much. Great work and thanks guys! I didn't know weather to smile or ball!

I have been wild camping in the Lakes and we have both stayed in a rented cottage or been camping and have walked around Rydal, visited the falls and eaten at the Badger bar too. OK, I'll get this out of the way first: Dexter looked *so* comfy in the seat on the car ride, and then so happy to splash forward across the creek - very glad he seemed to be having an excellent trip :) And now on to non-dog topics! Looked like a wild and magical place to visit. Also looked like most folks take care of the trails and open areas, with no trash and all the fences and gates in good shape. I don't think I saw a single piece of loose plastic or whatnot during your walk. We have such an issue with a lack of regard for our trails and open spaces, but it gives me hope when I see how well some of the places look on these walks! I can't wait to see the launch and how you both get to start enjoying life on the canals. Stay safe and thanks as always for taking the time and all the effort for the videos for us!
Thanks Sean. We too have problems with litter and not all country walks are as well kept, however, the Lake District is a very special place and most visitors treat it with the respect it deserves. Dexter loves paddling (he is not a swimmer though) and really seems to get a new lease of life when our in open spaces like this. We had a lovely weekend and was well needed to just relax and think about nothing in particular before we start prepping for the imminent launch. Hope you and your family are well and keeping safe. Love Blea Tarn. I used to live in Cockermouth funnily enough, and I was there only a few weeks ago. I always enjoy getting out there, Wasdale and Grizedale too when im there visiting family. Only thing I dont like is the bloody people that always get in the way when ive got the tripod set up :D

The very first places my husband took me in the UK (like right off the plane) was Stoke Bruerne but then we went to the Lake District. And so began my deep and abiding love for the fells, the becks, the stone walls, the people, and the gingerbread. We've been back so many times that I recognized many of the roads you were on. Thank you for taking me along.

We are hoping to have it done by August, we have bought just the shell (50ft trad) and are fitting it out ourselves so it will take us a little bit of extra time. We have the engine in now, ballast, insulation windows etc, it's now just 2 more coats of paint and the hull and just the fit out to do in-between working. I will bring an extra large bottle of gin 😁🍸🍸🤪🤣

Been watching your vlog since the beginning and am always eagerly looking forward to your next offering despite the paucity of boats. I have always been impressed with quality of your photography (and edits) but this vlog was just stunning--both photography and landscape. Paul and Anthony all we can say is WOW!!! What a beautiful area of England Keswick is! The drive up to this area looks just spectacular. Makes us want to find a neat little cabin and cook, explore and have a nice bottle of wine or two. Anthony is this an area that you would suggest taking a holiday? We loved the shot of you two and Dexter in the lovely valley. The village of Grasmere looks like such a quaint place to relax and do a bit of shopping. Just our type of place. WOW! Well, I'm gonna start by saying I'm amazed by how much commonality there is in my life (past and present) and yours. As you know I grew up in Upholland and have lived in the US now for 30 years. So, our back yard (like the L to L canal) is the same. My dad (now passed) taught us the all of the wonders of the Lakes as we grew up. I spent 1-2 weekends a month there in the last 2 years I lived in the UK. It's ironic you posted this today. I work for a Swedish company. This is the week we normally have our front-line meeting in Sweden. It normally finishest on the Thursday. I fly from Copenhagen to MAN overnight at the airport Hilton. I then pick up a rent car from Hertz and drive straight to the Lakes. So, point is this is the time I would normally have been there. I really appreciated this VLOG but watched it with a great deal of sadness too for obvious reasons. You did cover some of the good spots that I visit. I also usually drive Wrynose, Langdale and Hard Knot pass. Next time you are there see if you can find White Marsh common. Stephen Townsend (sure you know him as a local painter) painted a landscape/animal portrait (he is famous for this) called "Our Valley" which I can tell you hangs proudly on my living room wall. When you get to where the exact place the painting was painted from you will see to the left a tree that is looking rather worse for the ware. I planted the tree 12 years ago and under the tree is a little box containing the ashes of a dear loved pet (Sammy). She was the one before my current Siamese cat Claire. If you find it you will see the most amazing view looking down from the hills over Rydal Water. I'll be showing this VLOG to my friends later. They'll get a better idea of what the Lakes is like based on this. Pictures only say so much. Great work and thanks guys! I didn't know weather to smile or ball!

OK, I'll get this out of the way first: Dexter looked *so* comfy in the seat on the car ride, and then so happy to splash forward across the creek - very glad he seemed to be having an excellent trip :) And now on to non-dog topics! Looked like a wild and magical place to visit. Also looked like most folks take care of the trails and open areas, with no trash and all the fences and gates in good shape. I don't think I saw a single piece of loose plastic or whatnot during your walk. We have such an issue with a lack of regard for our trails and open spaces, but it gives me hope when I see how well some of the places look on these walks! I can't wait to see the launch and how you both get to start enjoying life on the canals. Stay safe and thanks as always for taking the time and all the effort for the videos for us!
Thanks Sean. We too have problems with litter and not all country walks are as well kept, however, the Lake District is a very special place and most visitors treat it with the respect it deserves. Dexter loves paddling (he is not a swimmer though) and really seems to get a new lease of life when our in open spaces like this. We had a lovely weekend and was well needed to just relax and think about nothing in particular before we start prepping for the imminent launch. Hope you and your family are well and keeping safe. Well Anthony things are going just okay here, we really miss all our overseas tourists. Subsides are coming off wages this coming week, so unemployment will rise I guess? ( I would hate to be back in small business). Obviously I’d had too many red wines last night and couldn’t spell * allowed*! Cheers.
Love Blea Tarn. I used to live in Cockermouth funnily enough, and I was there only a few weeks ago. I always enjoy getting out there, Wasdale and Grizedale too when im there visiting family. Only thing I dont like is the bloody people that always get in the way when ive got the tripod set up :D

My wife and I cannot wait to see your journey. During the Covid lock down out here in Japan I talked to my wife about the canal holidays I had and we came across your journey. Ahhh I wish I could show you my wifes paintings,,,,,,she is Japanese and there is no way that I can share her talent,,,,, Because I love the uykiyoe style,,,When we go on our travels...She does a painting I so wish she would allow me to show,,But she is Japanese bless her....I wish I could show you her Takakmatsu,,,in the autumn,,,,Whatever,,,we cannot wait to see your journey....As an aside she did say that your planned colours are very Japanese..

Hi Sharon the vlogs are only about a week behind. We were hoping to launch in August or September but lucky that we have somewhere to live in the meantime. We are going to launch the first week in October 💕
Hi Sharon, no hold up. We have a launch date and it is very soon. I was discussing with Paul re the lockdown and hope this doesn’t delay the launch but as most outdoor activities are still allowed, fingers crossed it won’t affect us. Stay safe and well. 😃

How many minutes in? So true they are very expensive and no wonder people park anywhere they can. I joined the NT so I could park while wild camping but you can’t park overnight
