Simply cannot wait for this! MY FAVOURITE BAND FOR THE LAST 55 YEARS. I read Ritchie Yorke's "Led Zeppelin Biography" back in the 70's, then Stephen Davis' "Hammer of the Gods"... But THIS film will be THE definitive memoir of the formation of the greatest band in Rock's Golden Age.
When I was born John had already left us so I never had any hope of seeing them live and I always knew that the three remaining members didn't want another line-up, this will definitely fill a void I feel towards my most beloved band. I've watched TSRTS countless times, now I'm looking forward to this one. ❤😊❤
My uncle saw LED ZEPPELIN at the Atlanta pop festival when they were still called: The New Yardbirds! He knew Jimmy Page but was unprepared for the vocals of Robert Plant and the rhythm section of Bonham and Jones!
If you Google image Atlanta Pop Festival 1969, the posters say Led Zeppelin. The first Atlanta Pop Festival was August, 1969. Led Zeppelin first used the name in October, 1968. Led Zeppelin 1 came out January 1969, 7 months before your uncle attended the show. Your uncle did not see The New Yardbirds at Atlanta Pop Festival.
I live a short distance from where they played their 2nd gig, way out in the sticks in Lolland, Denmark. They were billed as the Yardbirds on that first Scandinavian tour. At 16, I did attend their first 1979 gig in Copenhagen.
@3rdmm The video of that Copenhagen show was pretty wild... except the audience was either incredibly baked, or half asleep. Or maybe just extremely polite. 😋
Zeppelin’s moto has always been leave them wanting more. I’m still hopeful we’ll get a follow up to this dropping the name “becoming” for something else
Yes, their early sound was SO DIFFERENT, so captivating... little did we know that they'd actually continue changing and evolving with each new album, leaving their critics behind in the dust with nothing to stand on!
Very exciting to see an authorized biography. There’s so many unauthorized biographies out there that are not allowed to include original music and to me that is a telltale sign that these films do not have a validity. This film should be great!
Looking forward to this film! Saw them live, the first time, in 1970 so it should bring back some great memories. Love this band, can't wait to have a new experience with Led Zeppelin in 2025.
As a Zeppelin fan for most of my 51 years there's so much, I'd like to see but, some sort of view into their creative process kind of like the recent Beatles documentary would be amazing if possible. I'll be at the Philly IMAX on 2/7.
Yes, I've always wondered why I've never been able to find video footage of them in the studio. It'll be awesome to finally get to see stuff like that 👍
Go and find a copy of the book Light and Shade, Jimmy Page tells the story from studio guitarist to Yardbirds to Led Zepplin. It will be a good primer for this new band approved Doc.
I think we all know the stories… Because there have been so many discussion groups on them as well as books written. But what will be really nice to see some of the rare videos Crispin up and hear some of the music and especially here at the living band members opinions about what occurred in those days so I’m pretty darn stoked to see this. Hopefully, they’ll release it on a DVD later as well. On a separate note, I saw David Gilmore a few weeks ago talking about live legends and it was amazing. I just hope one day Jimmy Page tour again with maybe Paul Rogers or someone like that since Robert Plant is pretty damn weak now, but I can tell you that David Gilmore show was amazing. I would love to see Jimmy again one more time
I’m fine with not taking this documentary to the death of Bonham. I don’t look forward to documentaries that you know end in a tragic way when I’m there for what makes the band great, for their viewpoints, hearing about their collaboration and creativity. I like that that’s where the focus will be. I know how it ends and I want to enjoy them as a band without being hit with the sadness at the end of it.
That’s a good question. Would love to see that. I heard that Page gave access to a lot of the original footage from those days. Maybe we could end up seeing that.
Led Zeppelin as a band recorded with PJ PROBY on the Three Week Hero Lp and the single non LP Bside " Mery Hoppkins Never Had Days Like These". Hopefully THAT includes a mention. Jones and Page recorded together and Plant and Bonham recorded together prior to the Led Zeppelin launch.
I am gonna go for sure, want to see it in IMAX. Can't say I am overly excited though. Led Zeppelin is not a band for me but rather a religion/way of life. I have consumed everything I can get my hands on ever since the eighties when Hammer of the Gods came out. That being said there was not one piece of footage in the trailer that I have not seen over a hundred times before. The fact that all three remaining members are onboard and authorizing gives me hope. Will be refreshing to finally hear from them and not what some other person believes they were thinking and feeling. Please surprise me, not just some collage footage of a couple of scraps like they did in the 90s with the Travelling Riverside Blues video :/
I simply want to see a more authentic version of them as individuals not just spectacular musicians. Get a closer look at who they really are and what drives them. Hoping to see more personal background

No problem. You must be rather sick and tired of living in a world where History ISN'T being written by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant; don't know where YOU'VE been, but I've been in Heaven for the last 55 years!
