    I lived on my property for 7 years. 3 years in a camper and a marquee because was caught in the bush fires had battery vibrating operated snake repellers / no snakes for 3 years. Moved into my home same property different location 6 snakes in one week, put in the vibrating repellers in, used expanding foam to cover holes and any mesh squeeze in a air rated hole. I place sticky mat's in my shed with cloudy Imodium or phenyle. I used to get tree snakes in my letterbox now I place mothballs and also use mouse and rat traps no more snakes. Used tea bags keep away spiders or make them dopey and egg shells for geckos. A full barrier of snake mesh around your yard is the best though, they say you only need 600mm but I've seen them go over that mine are 1mtr plus.
    I use what works for me.

      +Justin Bellini you're a fuckin moron mate,
      writing a harry potter sized novel response because you're obviously a big 'snake guy' nothing wrong with someone wanting to eliminate a venomous threat from their living quarters and you can chose to either kill it or get it removed by a handler. The bullshit you talk when you probably tuck in to your steak every night. Look at yourself lol
      your little favorite animal happens to be 99% of the countries least favorite for obvious reasons.

    • @EsteemedReptile
      @EsteemedReptile 7 років тому +2

      Actually sunshine, I've got news for you.
      There IS something wrong with choosing to kill an animal for reasons that begin and end with "I'm a little bitch and things scare me".
      You being a gutless coward is YOUR problem, you have zero right to make it the problem of the animal that makes you piss your frilly thong in fear.
      Just because you lack the patience (or testicles) to take the time to learn about a creature you don't understand, does not somehow automatically give you the right to arbitrarily exterminate them.
      Yes, snakes are a hazard, and yes, snakes have been responsible for a not insignificant amount of deaths. But using your own FEAR as an excuse to kill things is not how a responsible human adult is supposed to react.
      Got a snake in your house? Here is what you do you little girl. Remove your family and pets from the vicinity. WATCH IT. And call a professional. Wow how easy is that? Did you learn a thing today?
      That way, you are safe, your family is safe, an innocent animal doesn't have to die, and maybe....JUST MAYBE....you walk away with a greater understanding and appreciation of the animal kingdom you know absolutely fucking nothing about.
      I'll write Harry Potter sized responses to unbelievable fuckwits like you until the day I die if it means that just one of you sooky little skirt-wearing princesses get over yourselves and actually take the time to LEARN instead of taking the COWARDS option and picking up a weapon.
      Because that's what a coward does, they choose the easy option that makes them feel safe instead of the scientific option that challenges their comfort.
      Violence is easy, understanding takes effort.
      Put some in. You dickless, spineless. Little.
      Bitch.

    Quite right- those stakes are nothing but an annoying tone.
    I was told a small windmill would work that produced a thumping vibration.
    Your thoughts?
    I dont think the repellents work worth a crap.
    I've heard snakes don't like mint. Any truth to that?
    I will be using the mesh- it makes sense more than anything else I've heard.
    Thanks for your wisdom on this.
    Much appreciated !

      The best way to keep snakes out of your yard to to have a clean yard with no ground cover type foliage for them to hide in, and to not keep birds or chicken that drop seeds that attract mice… that the snakes will then come for.

    Give a snake a home and he will come and set up house. They love wood piles, and junk
    lying around etc. . I found the best way to keep them away is to keep your yard very clean and the grass very short. Just my 2 cents worth from the US where we don't have the very bad dangerous snakes you folks have. Dang you guys have all the worse ones that will kill a person quick. God bless and be careful out there.

    At 6:05 ---> Do they not make this product from a immaterial that can last - at least 50 - 75 years, or stainless steel/lifetime durability?
    This seems like a product that would be highly efficient and could become a standard for new home construction/renovations.
    I mean goodness, I'd be all over producing this! Imagine the revenue source! And I want some of even the 5 yrs product.

    • @bigtexas7580
      @bigtexas7580 4 роки тому +1

      @The Weeping Willow *No problem, you just sprinkle it around the entire perimeter. You may have to kill any snakes that are already inside of the perimeter when you apply the sulphur because the sulphur border will discourage new snakes from entering but it may also prevent existing snakes from leaving.*

    • @bigtexas7580
      @bigtexas7580 4 роки тому

      @The Weeping Willow *I usually go out with my stihl weedeater and cut the snakes with it and it'll shred 'em fast. Otherwise just use any blunt long handle object if you don't have a weedeater or other power method.*
