Craig! You were my bud driver this week
That picture at 5:31 looks like the Burlington in Iverson Mall that took over the space where Woody’s used to be. Great video!

Great story...you do sucha wonderful of explaining DC's history!!!
Thank u 🙏🏽👊🏽. Ur awesome for saying so 🤗
Woodies was the BOMB!!! Loved that store!!! My family spent much time and money in that building!!! 😂
In the 80s, downtown dc was all about Hecht’s, Woodies, and Garfinckel’s.
100 Percent!🤗😎
Great Video!!👍 Woodies old building is something to admire indeed and it's too bad it's still not in business for shoppers to enjoy the beautiful architecture and super shiny floors. I can remember when the downtown core of DC was in really bad shape during the late eighties and nineties but the transformation to what it has become nowadays is just amazing. Today it is a very vibrant and beautiful place to visit with many new buildings and hotels and still a lot of the older ones have been refurbished to retain they're charm of yesteryear. The old Greyhound Station at New York Ave. and 11th street is still my most favorite art deco style building to admire and I walk past and have a look inside every time I visit downtown. They even still have the greyhound dog logo in the terrazzo style flooring in the front entranceway!! How cool is that. Nice Video I enjoyed watching it. Take Care
Totally agreed with everything u said. U sound like u have a DC Dude passion for it too!!❤️ Especially agree with u about the ald Greyhound station downtown. I should totally do a video about that!👊🏽.
Took Metro bus from S.E. downtown. Passed Woodies almost every trip. Miss my hometown every day, Thanks for the memories. Love your channel.
Love that u watch it. Thank u for ur support 🤗
Best bus driver in da city
Oh my, so many memories here - growing up in the 50's, I'm sorry to not have noticed the exclusion of Blacks from this downtown shopping experience - we'd come downtown from upper 16th Street & it was so exciting! Appreciate the nod to Uline Arena as well, where my friends & I would go skating - loved going to school in DC as well - thanks for your videos!
Thank you for the comment. Comments from lovely people like you who have lived the history that I do videos about is always a real pleasure for me! Thank you so much, you are so appreciated!🤗

Still doing the damn thing huh?! 👍🏽
Can't stop won't stop🤓👊🏽! What's good with you? So I can't make out your pic, it's way too small. Who is this?
Nice video. If I may make a recommendation, I would recommend using Vita for editing because you can manually turn the watermark off for free. By the way can you make a spy museum video next please? wink wink

Cool! Thank u! I switch to CapCut, but decided to give InShot another shot...bad idea... They used to not do watermarks and alot of what used to be standard, has become premium $$$. No plans to use them again. Will definitely take u up on ur suggestion.
Do u do much editing?
I’ll add one more thing that ran DC’s local department stores out of business:
The invasion of nationwide Department stores from other regions.
Macy’s took Hecht’s customers
Nordstrom took Woodies Customers
Neiman Marcus took Garfinckel’s customers.
Great point!! Totally agree!! And wasn't Hecht's taken over by Macy's?
