I enjoyed this. The mall was my Saturday hang out in the early 70s. I also remember going there the weekend they opened in 67. I'm going to watch the rest of your videos.
WOW, I remember those indoor Fountains, yes we threw Pennies in there ! This mall was our hangout, we lived in the brick Townhouses behind the mall. We use to watch TV in Montgomery Wards because we didn't have a Color TV yet. The Sales people lets us stay as long as we were quiet. Great Memories there. I am Amazed Iverson Mall is still there. We moved to Arizona in 1992, the Malls are not that Old and most of them in the Phoenix area have Closed already. MetroCenter which has beenfilmed in Movies closed about ten years ago. Thank You for vlogging this, Great Memories ! 😊
Growing up in Marlow Heights and then Temple Hills, Iverson Mall was THE place to go! Remember the distinct sound of tapping a coin on the metal railing on the second floor?
My mom and her best friend used to take all of us kids there at least once a week. We always ate at the Roy Rogers in the mall (I still have my Buckaroo Club card). We always hit Montgomery Ward, Petite Street (which later became 5-7-9), Lerner (later became NY & Co), and Ormond. I don't remember many of the other stores but I do still have a picture of me on Santa's lap at Iverson Mall.
Nice Video about Iverson Mall👍 I can remember those open air style malls from way back 1970 My mom used to take me shopping at Wheaton Plaza and it wasn't enclosed at that time either. It looks like whoever is in charge of this mall does a great job to keep it looking good with super shiny floor tiles. I wonder if those tiles are original or not? Thanks for posting I enjoy to watch😀
Thanks for watching! And thanks for that, Wheaton completely slipped my mind. A similar story like PG Plaza (Mall) then. Cool! I really appreciate ur feedback and taking the time to watch
They just need a big store like old navy, something cheap but still decent. When you walk in they have this incredible bakery NOT the cookie spot but right next to them is a bakery with some of the best cupcakes in the DMV, yall check em out. Enjoy and good looking on this post!
I remember when Mobb Deep did the rap city episode over by Caviler, and the waxie Maxie in 96'. Correction: it was the Wiz in 1997 and Mobb Deep and Big Pun!

Nope. I only go to the mall to buy Snickerdoodle cookies and I exit stage left. That mall has gotten horrible over the years.

I remember when the man who sang the Iverson Mall jingle came to the school to to speak to us.
I remember Montgomery Ward. I used to take my mother there. I haven't been there in years. I loved Crown Books.

@@thatdcdude7434 Also I just remembered, Iverson Mall had a gun shop. Can you believe that it was called Stevens in the lower level.
New sub here. Awesome channel and video. Gotta support my DMV people. ❤️
