The Dwarves really came back strong after the change. Crazy durability and damage for days from all those judgement tokens and characters.
Yea, before the dataslate and points update, they always came up short

Not finished watching yet but it's good to see some Votanns out on the table as they seem to have disappeared fairly quickly after their silly strong start in the previous edition.

Would you ever do a crusade series? Both because your channel has been the best by far for actually learning the rules (for me) and it could be fun with all the battle honours and scars, spice up the gameplay a bit.

As a votann player, I'm very happy to see them making a comeback. Although, it was so nice to finally see someone actually playing them because they enjoy them. All in all, a very good game with a whole lot of luck on both sides. Would love to see James return for another game with the votann.

They're just so much fun to use, and have been since they came out, easily my favourite army to play with, and I just love the aesthetic of the faction! Glad you enjoyed it :)
A really enjoyable batrep. I've just come back to 40k after I stopped playing back in 4th edition and have started collecting a small Votann army. Its good to see that they can compete with the other factions after the buffs. I hope they get a second wave of models next year as they do have some holes that need filled in their list.
Rock and stone! The Votann are a lot of fun and have fast become one of my favourite factions in the setting! I agree with you that some new models in a second wave would go down very well! Hope you get on well with your budding League force!
Thanks, yea, Dwarves are fun. They only have a small variety of models at the moment, but I'm sure they will grow.
@@azachan237 im hoping in the second wave for some kind of dedicated non-transport tank, a jump pack unit like the one from kill team and an infiltration unit or something from way back in 2nd edition. A mole mortar squad.

Good game, but definitely felt like Votann rollled well and you rolled poorly. Also Tyranids are still mega squishy and points wise looks like nothing from Votann died and all nids died lol.

Its impressive how much of current 40k dice rolls are clearly stalling for the sake of it.
2h games with the tactical depth of a early MMO pvp battle. That means a bunch of buff stacking for the sake of it and than absurd amounts of swingy D6 RNG.
So? 40k has never professed to be some kind of deep tactical game. It's just fun and easy to play. What a bizarre comment.
Seems like quite a lot of terrain for 2k. Not a fan of how terrain works and is used in 9. and 10. There is a MASSIVE bias towards small elite infantry armies and with how shitty ruins are for vehicles and monsters in 10th any skilled player will bottleneck half your army for 2 rounds with ramming 70 points transports in 2 or 3 choke points
Hi, used a similar setup to how competitive games are ran, as that is what's used to "balance" the game.. terrain makes it more tactical, if there isn't enough it favours shooting armies and turn 1 far too much. Infantry can use Terrain better yes, but vehicles and monsters are a lot tougher now and can shoot out of combat... pros and cons to both
