Seems to me, that the reason why you can't place the pillars, is due to the debris on the ground ( rubble ). Once the miners have completed the digging, they will go back and clean up the rubble off the ground. Then you should be able to place the Pillars without being impeded
Likely just the regular adhd of his and 'steamer tax' reducing his ability to understand even less. It's something you have to just get used to from him or just never watch his videos. The old mini lets plays of his could get so infuriating bc of it.

"Does it have to be adjacent to a road for this to work?" (Big tutorial popup on the right explicitly says in big letters: "Buildings must be connected by Road...") "Wonder what's in this chest" (Big tutorial popup clearly says what the chest contains)
The man has excruciatingly high amounts of adhd at times. Along with the 'streamer' tax. Which means trying to talk and keep talking makes you lose like 30% of the small amount of focus available.
It feeds into his success though. There's been a number of times where I picked up a game specifically because I watched him absolutely botch it and it triggered my need to "do it right."
I love the games but this forced persona he's developed over the years is so fucking cringe. A lot of Americans seem to find it "entertaining". I can't stand it. I do like a lot of the games he plays but his personality is 🤯 🔫
I think by placing a storehouse up to a resource building results in resourses quickly put into the storehouse and storehouses share inventory meaning raw resources can be provided faster to resource refineries in a good storehouse network, and subsequently you get the right resource you need much quicker. At least that's how I interpreted the demo, I could not tell if Splattercat got this. I like it and look forward to the full release, thank you for digging into and sharing this, Splattercat.

The Hand of Gilgamech was fun, but it's more of a card game with some RPG elements and it was very linear in its progression. Thus far, Heist is -by far- my favorite game in the series, but I'll be following Build with interest.

This game had me as soon as Splat said Dungeon Keeper-like. I _LOVED_ that game and its been hard seeing its legacy continue on in other games, but never have it hit home like those first two. I'm sure this game won't hit the nail on the head either, but DK 3 was _supposed_ to have surface-level gameplay and this does seem close to what I imagine that game would have been like.
I am hype on this. Steamworld dig was the goat. Steamworld heist got me to enjoy a game style I don't traditionally enjoy. Steamworld build is right where I keep my heart. These devs make great games.

Hmm, I wonder if this game is their first step into a 4x game later. They've really expanded and built upon the brand. From something al ittle more than a flash game to 3d colony survival. I could totally see this turning into a Beyond Earth, totally NOT Alpha Centauri remake, type game. With it's going into space expansion.
Even today with machine learning you need time and effort to train it to do anything useful. So with real AI it would be even more time consuming and effort heavy. So why not clone AI and don't bother with messy "sexual" reproduction? When cloned AIs encounter problem/pathogen they can't fight, whole population will be wiped out. With more diverse populations, some units will survive. Or at least it's more likely compared to cloned society.

Horizon call of the mountain has an OK story and voice acting. Just being immersed completely is a wonderful experience.

i haven't disliked any of the steamworld games so far, they can end up on mobile and TBH were one of the few/only mobile games I ever found value in (steamworld heist, fair price, no IAP, well supported and decent ui)
War for the Overworld is a copy, personally i wasn't sold (would much rather just play dungeon keeper again) but it seems popular. It's been out for a while now so i image you can get it ALOT cheaper on sale.

C&C had crates you could click on the map for extra resources, this is like a 30yr old game mechanic.
