The Dales Way starts at Ilkley, West Yorkshire. Follow us as we walk the first 13 miles of this long distance path from Ilkley to Grassington.
We covered this over 3 days and the video brings all three together.

A fantastic walk and another terrific video. I like your style of letting the video tell the story, unlike some who never stop talking and show more of their face than they ever do of the scenery. I do feel, however, that a few more bits of commentary or the occasional caption would make the journey even more interesting for your viewers, of whom you deserve to have far more.

Thanks for the feedback Jim. Funny you should mention bits of commentary because we’d been thinking the same thing. We had a go at talking to camera on a day when there was a breeze and the camera seemed to pick up the wind noise making it hard to hear us. So we decided that didn’t sound very professional and have since bought a mic with a dead cat (fluffy jacket that helps reduce wind noise). We have been out with the mic on a windy day and it has reduced the wind noise considerably and also improved the sound quality but I don’t look very natural when I’m talking to camera but this is something I will have to practice and overcome.
