A favor, IGN, keep this guy and let him do all your reviews, with proper compensation of course... It's my first time hearing from this dude, and so far he's the only one from your company that seem to actually know what he's talking about, without much hint of biases. Objectivity is key.
I agree, this is the first review in years I've heard where they actually spoke in depth about mechanics and gameplay rather than feelings. Almost felt like an old fashioned review, which is great.
Exactly. Regardless of score, the important thing is that he evaluated the game with objectivity and depth, a principle that is now rarely upheld by most game reviewers. Back in the day, the only reviewer(s) I trusted to be honest and fair were the dudes from gametrailers (mostly the duo Ben Moore and Brandon Jones). Even though GT already shut down, I am glad the two remained working together and are now on easyallies here on YT. Speaking of which, I can't wait for their review on this game. The last MH I played was the 2nd one on PSP. Sadly, I need to wait for the PC port...
He is clever, it was a phrase used by EA to defend the decision to make unlocking heroes expensive in Battlefront 2, claiming it was to provide players 'a sense of pride and accomplishment', when everyone knew it was to push players to buy microtransactions. Monster Hunter World shows the correct way of doing it: by creating deep and compelling gameplay for players to master and overcome the game's challenges.
Good, deep gameplay, uncompromising towards its hardcore fans, not giving in to the casual market, lootboxes or season passes. A great way to start 2018.
I_Am_SamIII Yeah, but the game itself is still striving to provide the same hardcore experience. It's good they added quality of life changes instead of dumbing everything down to a shallow button masher for 11 year olds.
One of the best games ever made with one of the best expansions ever made! World/iceborne has a fantastically welcoming community too and we love to see and hunt with new hunters, it's over 3 years later and this awesome game is still going strong with a healthy player base. Anybody thinking of getting the game, please do, you won't regret it
Bro, this is no doubt one of the best video games. Not only does it take more than 300 hours to kill all the monsters, but those hours will give you such a sense of pride and accomplishment. And there’s so much variety and weapons in the game that it’s hard to get bored by playing it.
Even more impressive considering that Monster Hunter seems to be a game where it would be easy to implement lootboxes, but they still resisted the greedy urge to do so. Well done Capcom.
There are lootboxes in this game And the lootboxes will try to tear you apart, smash you, kill you three times until your reward decreased to 0z. trust me, I played this game since the first one.
I will forever hate the fact that this, Dragon Ball Fighterz, and Dissidia Final Fantasy NT come out so close together, with this and Dragon Ball Fighterz coming out on the same day. But man 2018 seems to be packed with a slew of good games just like last year.
Messenger But that's not to say it's not worth just playing it to play and not to finish. The most fun I've ever had in a MH game was just taking down monsters over and over with my friends to finally get a complete badass armor set or new weapon. The sense of satisfaction from getting the gear you want 100% outweighs the feeling of beating a game in my opinion.
I easily got over 1000+ hours on Monster Hunter 3 on the Wii when that was released. And then probably another 1000+ on MH3U. You don't play these games for the story, you play them for killing monsters and reaping the rewards of better armour and weapons, then taking down harder monsters quicker and easier, then finding larger versions of those monsters and going on to Elder Dragons and making even better armour and weapons to deal with those. MH is immense and everyone needs to play it.
1st game I've Pre ordered in a very long time and only the beta to back my MH experience. Looks like I made a great decision. See you in game within 24 hours boiz!
Congrats to Capcom/MH Team on the successful launch of an amazing game!!! Thanks for providing us with hundreds/thousands of hours to come for the start of the year! GOTY incoming ^^
It's because this series has been keeping Capcom afloat for years. The development team has free reign to do as they see fit. Other Capcom games won't be so free from greed.
there's been like one game that has abused the loot box model and suddenly everybody brings up "loot boxes" on every video about a game.. it sounds to me like you're more concerned about being a human meme, than using any logic.

Love this game. It is the perfect embodiment of what a growing game should be. It is not a "games as a service" experience (per se) since other games with such a title usually implement micro-transactions and are released with minimal content (like the insults called No Man's Sky and Sea of Thieves). This game was worth the $60 asking price (having enough content for a 100+ hour playthrough for me), and Capcom keeps rolling out new content for it's players, to interact with new monsters and to earn more unique crossover skins/armor. I still have yet to break 200+ hours, but I recently came back to the game after taking a break and fell in love with it all over again.
I wanted this on Switch but I'm happy the game is good and other console owners get to experience it. I'm surprised it got such a high score. A 9.5 already so early in the year.
Kek, you talk like MH was Nintendo exclusive. When the franchise was born in sony and has alot of games where capcom wants it. As a long time monster hunter veteran I am super excited about the game finally coming to a console with power behind it, monster hunter has suffered from poor decision making for way too long, I'm glad the game gets its chance to truly shine on a console with the power to back up the beautiful world and creatures all monster hunter veterans know and love.
Well deserved, MH always have their flaws but it is one of the best game franchises that keeps fan loyal and keep enjoying the series because it simply NEVER let down (been from MHFU) and keep improving the game. Good review, much appreciated IGN Be ready for G-rank and i suspect it'll be 9.8 or 10 even
Metacritic score: Dragon Ball FighterZ - 88 Monster Hunter World - 91 Street Fighter V AE - 88 Happy to see japanese gaming dominating the scene once again so far this year.
7 Months later on metacritic user score: Dragon ball fighterZ 88 ->87 Monster Hunter World 91 -78 Street Fighter V AE 88->87 Im surprised it went under 80 grade, it did have a bit of a hype going though.
Remember back then, when the first few Monster Hunter games came out and reviewers were always harsh on them and gave them lackluster ratings? XD In all honesty, though, I'm not a big Monster Hunter fan, (Played Freedom Unite, 3 Ultimate, and Generations, but not a whole lot of any one of them) but I'm pleased as punch to see the series hit it's stride and evolve to what it is now--both in gameplay and fandom.
What do you mean rise again? Like it's been in a slump or something? Look at the Japanese games we've gotten the last few years - bloodborne, persona, nier, etc
Kaneki Ken All those games you mentioned came out in the last 3 years. He said Japanese games are rising again. Not that Japanese games are *starting* to rise again. There's a difference. Anyone with half a brain would know that Japanese games have been starting to get more and more recognition in the West since 2015.
Kaneki Ken not true? lol stop deluding yourself. are you saying that the previous disappointing japanese games like final fantasy 13 trilogy, the ORIGINAL nier (not nier automata) tales of zestria, dragon ball xenoverse and a whole lot more that i didnt mention here get the recognition like what we are seeing right now? bloodborne is like the only good japanese AAA game that was released back in 2015 and persona series received the attention when P5 was released last year. back then they were only a handfull of japanese games that are considered good but now we already got 2 GOTY 2017 alone and both of them are japanese games.
Admyr 6 if you have a 4k HDR set up game files are larger because there is more data. The higher the quality the bigger the file size. I think 14gb is standard. Which is still amazing for this game.
I have to assume since because they've been working with nintendo in last few entries they've probably learn how make big games take up little space lol
Duke Nukem actually cinematic cutscenes take a lot of space, thats why single player mode have more size than multiplayer mode in game like cod and battlefield
Just started playing this because of Game Pass. This is the best IGN review I’ve ever seen. Objective, knowledgeable, clearly already a fan of the series but has also put enough hours in already to properly review the subject matter. This is what all reviews should be like! Well played Sir, whoever you are. I salute you as a rose among thorns! 👍🏼🙌🏽✅
Great review Joe! It works perfectly as a guide for people who haven't got into the series so far. Definitely not a game for me, but I appreciate its brilliance
MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU IT´S WHAT THE COMMENT SECTION NEED! The other thing it´s "Not for me equal trash", but you boy, you´re superb and evolved human being.
One of the better reviews I've seen from IGN in a long time. The reviewer, Joe Skrebels, has done a wonderful job. IGN should let him do reviews for all the big games at least, if not for all the games.
I honestly enjoyed this game a lot and if you’re in your win is extremely hard if you are on your own but with friends it is extremely fun with friends.
9.5? This is great. I'm glad reviewers are seeing how truly great the franchise is. Played the three betas and defeated all of the monsters dozens of times, so I can't wait for this.
Don’t lie. The only reason why you hunt monsters in Monster Hunter are to make various armor sets for your palico. The whole game is a fashion show in disguise!!
if you seriously have time to spend 100 hours on a game in a week than you should look at getting into streaming. With that kind of time invested on gaming you could grow an audience and make very good money if you are dedicated enough.
THE BEST GAME TO HAVE BEEN RELEASED IN A VERY LONG TIME. I have 0 complaints. Just when I was about to give up on gaming because most games out now weren't entertaining, I found this gem. This isn't an exaggeration. The only people that may not like the game are PVP'ers but if you enjoy co-op pve and beautiful graphics with an entertaining story line, this is your game guys. 100/10.
MR.KKIP and your point is? the guy did mentioned "SOON Namco and Square" so just because its not gonna be released any time soon it doesnt change the fact that the japanese video game industry is back on its track. although FF7 remake could be relasing somewhere in 2019 but we still got kingdom hearts 3 in 2018
ff7 remake in 2019... Are you drunk? It most likely is gonna release somewhere around 2021 because they are REMAKING it from scratch. It's also gonna get released in 3 seperate games and that will most likely cause it to finish releasing completely in 2024ish. Also... Don't you know how much kingdom hearts 3 got delayed? Hajime is still in the development program so it most likely is gonna take another year or 2. So ehm I don't see how that makes the releases anytime soon.
I am so happy this series became what I always knew it could have been. Thank you capcom for bringing one of my favorite series to an entire new audience and making it accessible to almost everyone! I remember the reactions i had way back when, when I saw these monsters for the first time and now it brings me so much joy seeing all these new players reacting the same way I did so long ago!
If any newcomers think the game maybe too complicated for you, try Toukiden 2 first, it's a great game to get your feet wet into the monster hunter games.
I'm also a newcomer to the series. When I started I realized that if you have experience with soulsborne games the adjustment is not that big. I can say I have experience cuz I platinumed Bloodborne. Lol. Anyway. I LOVE the grind here. It's not the boring type. The combat is amazing as well. You can't button mash here and that's great! Grinding here has a purpose and that feeling of completing a set for you and your pet is just rewarding! The world feels alive. Spent a lot of time just exploring and watching those monsters go at it. I love that everytime there is a new land I can explore I have a sense of excitement and fear that I'm gonna face new types of monsters. This game just keeps on giving. Haven't even finished it yet because I want to experience everything this game has to offer. This is a 10/10 for me. Would recommend to everyone except those who really can't GIT GUD. Great job capcom! :)
Fantastic game. I spent almost 8 hours on my first stint playing. It's hard to put down. I just wish the online component were more intuitive. It's kinds of tricky getting into a gameplay session with say, your wife, who would like to play with you.
I got over 200 hours in this game so far, and still looking forward to the PC release so I can play with my PC friends. Even though my PS4 buddies has moved on, I'm still having a blast playing on my own.
Main reason this game caught my interest was that it was made by Capcom. I held off getting after seeing mixed reviews. My first night impressions are that I love it...especially the epic sunsets in the background...
Play from monster hunter 1 to monster hunter world ( some season have pass ) World map is truly amazing when get chasing.. ^_¡ hope Next season with More story in game and able to DIY your partner ( Kitty was ok, But human hunter if can ) than will be perfect >~
I was able to pick it up today for $20. Haven't started it yet, but it very much indeed does look like a lot to take in for newcomers. What console will you get it on?
TBH you have to be born to like such games, like me. For returning players, this will feel like a wonderful refreshment from the previous games in the franchise. For newer ones, everything will feel confusing and unlikable, as the game introduces mechanics which are in my opinion very unique to it. It is not about loving grinding, it is about being able to focus on it and understand that the story in this game is far from important.
ITS DLOWE BABY If you like deep combat mechanics that makes you feel like you're getting better, and (imo) one of the only fun grinds out there, you'll like it. I believe this game has a place for everyone, you just have to be willing to learn it and keep up. It'll seem slow and clunky at first, but over time you'll adapt and find it's one of the most robust action games out there. Just don't expect it to be easy.
Kind of a blow to Nintendo that not only did they lose the exclusivity of the IP, but also the latest and greatest release isn't even making it to one of their consoles.
Seems pretty amazing to me, with 100 to 200 + hours of game play for 40 or 50$ no micro transactions no bullshit day 1 DLC THESE are the type of games that need our support and our purchases.
I am really keen to buy this game and jump into this world of hunters for the very first time. I've been looking a lot of reviews and one word I cannot stress enough that comes out in many reviews is _grinding_. I love to go deep into a game and it needs to give me the hardcore players hours that I look from these kind of games. Grind towards something better and reach there without WAITING and doing nothing (cough wow), that is what I want. Lot of content and time well spent sounds nice and that "killing mythical creatures to make shoes.." cracked me up! XD I'm laughing little too much tbh, ty for this review! Will definitely try this game!! Vacation starts nicely right after the release.. Time to bunker indoors, Monster Hunter World, let's see what you got to offer!!
Sorry for self promoting, but I feel like this video will help you new comers to the series immensely. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments section. Happy Hunting! ua-cam.com/video/E_5UsjNIwVA/v-deo.html
If you have never played MH, I highly recommend you giving this game a chance. Trust me, it's genius. It's a masterpiece. You might think it's clunky, slow or whatever at first, but it's just a case of you having to "git gud".
Karan Jani It is challenging, but not as unforgiving as the Souls games. The difficulty spikes aren't as high and the learning curve isn't as steep. You should give it a try. It's kinda like it's own genre. There isn't anything like it (besides some low quality clones).
I got 3 more questions: 1. Correct me, if Im wrong. But it's never a good choice to mount a monster with the hammer right? I can only deal 1 damage per hit because my hunter only strikes with his knife. 2. Why would anyone use the LBG over the HBG? Isn't the HBG like almost in every case the overall better weapon? 3. Also how do I increase my Hunter rank? Only with investigations? Thanks in advance.
well 1. I don't know about 2. well, the name describes it all, the LBG is very light, your faster and it'll be easier to dodge, but you'll have less damage, the HBG is the opposite, more damage, less mobility 3. Just do the quest in the rank, you'll progress eventually
Honestly playing witcher 3 ruined every game for me nothing can ever match up to it and idk whether to get horizon zero dawn or this game I want something as epic as the witcher 3 which is on a whole other level
MH series is more in line with Street Fighter series with a particular emphasis on timing and spacial awareness (except one is in 2D, the other in 3D). 3rd person view is the only thing it has in common with Witcher 3. Horizon is more RPG-ish than this if Witcher 3 is your point of reference, but none of them are in the same category.
Samath Lokuge did you read my comment budd? Playable to all ages means, anyone can buy it, thats why there s no blood gore in it, wircher 3 is m rated, this game aint.
Hi! I'm on both Pc & Xbox and would like to try out the game before I purchase it. I'm not familiar with the Monster Hunter franchise but this looks quite cool. So is there a beta or some kind of demo available? TY in advance! :)
1st game I've pre ordered since gta 5. Such a wonderful breath taking game. Visually stunning and the gameplay is fluid and the content is abundant! Recommend to anyone who loves mmos! 10/10 must buy!

Oh No I Am Not you should watch the Max Payne 3 IGN review. The guys voice is the best I've heard.
There's another guy who does reviews similar to this on IGN, but has a more enthusiastic voice. It's always great when he gets to do the reviews too.
I_Am_SamIII did you watch it
The real game that gives players a sense of pride and accomplishment
I simply don't understand why people continue to use that phrase; you're not clever.
True, i may lose but i Will Come back stronger and defeat the Monster lol
He is clever, it was a phrase used by EA to defend the decision to make unlocking heroes expensive in Battlefront 2, claiming it was to provide players 'a sense of pride and accomplishment', when everyone knew it was to push players to buy microtransactions.
Monster Hunter World shows the correct way of doing it: by creating deep and compelling gameplay for players to master and overcome the game's challenges.
TacoMasters Association a new meaning for living under under a rock
Miadaskate Well of course it did.

Crazy how games evolve. I started on the psp
Me too
Almost all of the western fans started from MH freedom unite on psp
I started with tri on the wii
I used to play the demo everyday on psp until now.
i started from mh 2 and then freedom unite
Good, deep gameplay, uncompromising towards its hardcore fans, not giving in to the casual market, lootboxes or season passes.
A great way to start 2018.
Technically there is lootboxes. They're just able to kill you now
The Monsters are walking lootboxes you’ll have to earn by slaying or capturing them.
ark13700 Ey man the first loot box is a killer pickle
I_Am_SamIII
Yeah, but the game itself is still striving to provide the same hardcore experience.

not even a month in and IGN already has a GOTY contender. Video Games are doing well in 2018......... minus the lootboxes, those can go to hell.
Im not even a Monster Hunter fan but I always support games without loot boxes. I will definitely get this
Even more impressive considering that Monster Hunter seems to be a game where it would be easy to implement lootboxes, but they still resisted the greedy urge to do so.
Well done Capcom.

Not only that, Just about every DLC from previous titles are free as well. Not to mention the amazing collabs that are bound to happen.
Gonna be a good competition still got the last of us 2, red dead 2, god of war, Detroit becoming human, and many others still on the way.

StaticShock42 I chose fighterz over this lol, monster hunter is underated imo though. Might get it soon
Even I'll take monster hunter over dragon ball, so the decision's pretty much obvious!
More games than in November
Really didn’t look into this game too much but oh boy do I regret it! I love games with longevity and this game seems like you can play it for years!
Laxus Dreyer Fairy Tail that isnt much lol
MHW is one of those games you can drop 500-1000 hours into. It's that deep, one of those games you never really 100% complete.

Oh my god a smart and competent review... FROM IGN?!
After playing it for the first 8 hours, I've just now realized this is a GOTY contender...easily.
Yeah. 8 hours in one night and I'm blown away
It’s always been like this in all mh, but the accessibility to newbies
I so happy for the game, been a fan ever since the first game
FalconPunch Upstate: I'm now 76 hours in, and still just blown away. It's awesome!
By Trees That's why I said contender.
Congrats to Capcom/MH Team on the successful launch of an amazing game!!! Thanks for providing us with hundreds/thousands of hours to come for the start of the year! GOTY incoming ^^
Seems like it doesn't have much of a story tho :/
YoungDumb &MiddleClass that's not a problem with Monster hunter

Come here right after I've played Elden Ring and GOWR both of them are amazing, but nothing can replace MHW for me
no loot boxes either !!!!!:) a company that cares about gaming and pleasing fans rather than taking every penny out of our pockets.
Clark Stephenson Do you know this company also made Steetfigther V right?

Old Gamer Zelda BOTW = 10/10 and GOTY 2017.

Lamar Price Horizon is very good and has stuff in it that’s better than Zelda like the Story but you gotta agree the gameplay is better in Zelda.
Ty Brown At least they fixed those annoying frame rate bugs.
I_Am_SamIII I never liked Zelda much but now I think it might be my favorite game of all time (BOTW). Play games first and talk, kid. MH is good.
What a time to be alive boi's.
That's embarrassing......
I'm glad for games like this... The one main mistake most game companies make now days in modern gaming is trying SOOO HARD to appeal to EVERYONE that they appeal to NO ONE.
GOTY Contender
Going to be an amazing year!!!
Looks amazing. Can't wait to play it on the PC.
Nah
Aaro She said CONTENDER not that it will be GOTY. This definitely qualifies as an contender.
So many good games this year. It's gonna be a tough one to decide
After 10 years of playing Monster Hunter, I'm so happy this game is finally taking off in the west.
Well the main reason it didn't take off sooner cause of it's Nintendo exclusivity and they don't push it to the market that much. This was reawakening with proper marketing and available to everyone else

A very huge step in Monster Hunter franchise
Not really.
^^ salty PC gamer has to wait 7 months for Fall release
I love how excited and involved the reviewer sounds and feels, totally sold me on the game, i really want to play it just based on this review.

pain1551 Nope. Just a great game.
pain1551 nope the game is amazing dude
Isidorodavid Doro lol you will see for yourself.
Obviously, if it’s not COD, high scores are always fairly justified right?
I love this game 9.5 is definitely right
point five is such a pussyfooting. Is it an eight or ten?
Welther47 it's a 9.8
8 for me
@@lcameron4802 she probaly took the kids because you think its only an 8
@@y0av359 yeah. It’s almost like an opinion exists.
2.5 years later and I’m still playing this game, it’s just great, imo the best of the MH games and one of my favorite games of all time.
Well deserved, MH always have their flaws but it is one of the best game franchises that keeps fan loyal and keep enjoying the series because it simply NEVER let down (been from MHFU) and keep improving the game. Good review, much appreciated IGN
Be ready for G-rank and i suspect it'll be 9.8 or 10 even
TheRyanthunder dark souls franchise is better
Maybe as dlc
This game will bury Destiny 2 once and for all.
Frankie Z And if that doesn’t work anthem will 😂
I really hope it does
Frankie Z Destiny 2 was dead on arrival
justin shaw anthem got delayed
Destiny buried it self when CoO came out
Metacritic score:
Dragon Ball FighterZ - 88
Monster Hunter World - 91
Street Fighter V AE - 88
Happy to see japanese gaming dominating the scene once again so far this year.

Dragon ball fighterZ 88 ->87
Monster Hunter World 91 -78
Street Fighter V AE 88->87
Im surprised it went under 80 grade, it did have a bit of a hype going though.
Im not into those games most of the time. Besides pokemon but im really considering buying this game
Now fortnite
And then marvel's spiderman and red dead redemption came along...
@@soggz9190 If you read the red reviews on World, it's a bunch of casuals and trolls giving the game a low score for things they don't understand.
9/10 too many monsters -ign
Erick Flores Haha, they’ll never live it down 😂
Remember back then, when the first few Monster Hunter games came out and reviewers were always harsh on them and gave them lackluster ratings? XD
In all honesty, though, I'm not a big Monster Hunter fan, (Played Freedom Unite, 3 Ultimate, and Generations, but not a whole lot of any one of them) but I'm pleased as punch to see the series hit it's stride and evolve to what it is now--both in gameplay and fandom.
This game is a masterpiece makes me feel like a kid agin.
Now we just need a new Dragons Dogma !
YESS
@@jethrocket9283 Your wish is granted
Guess what Dragon Dogma 2 is here
In other words...."Its a MASTAPEACE"
Not really, the lip sync is terrible, and the story lacks. Other than that, its a really solid game
ALMOST AS GOOD AS SUPER MARIO BROS. 2 BABBYYYYYYY
James Crana Smh at the people who play Monster Hunter for story
Chris T I agree, but im just stating reasons for why the game shouldnt be classified as a 'masterpiece',
Yep, its far from masterpiece, but still very good, try the witcher 3, its basically monster hunter with good story, well that is masterpiece
I was expecting this
"I have never had this much fun since well.... The last cod game"
Lol
dragon ball fighterZ now MH World, oh we are living in the era where Japanese games rise again
The east shall rise again YEE HAAAW!1
What do you mean rise again? Like it's been in a slump or something? Look at the Japanese games we've gotten the last few years - bloodborne, persona, nier, etc
Kaneki Ken
All those games you mentioned came out in the last 3 years. He said Japanese games are rising again. Not that Japanese games are *starting* to rise again. There's a difference. Anyone with half a brain would know that Japanese games have been starting to get more and more recognition in the West since 2015.
phxrebirth Not true
I'm still shocked this game size is just over 14gb.
Is that for 4k textures or standard though?
MOGGY ANGRYgrrr "4k textures"??
Can u get 2 players offline or do u need to be online and has PS Plus?
9.5? This is great. I'm glad reviewers are seeing how truly great the franchise is. Played the three betas and defeated all of the monsters dozens of times, so I can't wait for this.
Well done Capcom
Don’t lie. The only reason why you hunt monsters in Monster Hunter are to make various armor sets for your palico. The whole game is a fashion show in disguise!!
I work a fulltime job, and even with a strong commitment it still would take me a year to compete lol
After a week and a 100+hours of gameplay, I can easily say this is a contender for (if not) GOTY.
Anukiv I work from home and have Insomnia haha
if you seriously have time to spend 100 hours on a game in a week than you should look at getting into streaming. With that kind of time invested on gaming you could grow an audience and make very good money if you are dedicated enough.
Zaeld I just might look into that. Thank you for the advice!
Tony Elliott If you have a PS4 it should be pretty easy to stream. I'm not sure about the Xbox though.
Is it hard like dark souls ?
the reviewer is a spurs fan hahaha. he has named his things Son Heung Min and Kane
This is my 1st monster Hunter game and this review gave me goosebumps I can't wait ❤

When he's not playing for Spurs, Son Heung Min apparently likes to play Monster Hunter...
How nice it is to have the Japanese gaming industry back and firing on all cylinders. First Atlus, then Nintendo, now Capcom, soon Namco and Square.
Square? Ha
MR.KKIP i mean there's the anticipated kingdom hearts 3 and FF7 remake
Lurima Lasiaf That's not gonna release anytime soon bud, especially ff7. Don't know Hajime's development history or something?
Imagine this game with 100+ monsters like the 3ds games. Best game ever.
Get r/Whooshed give it time
The monsters take an insane amount of work to make, let's just wait
omg! Son Heung Min actually plays this too! :o
Heung Min Son just casually playing Monster hunter there 1.51
LMAO
Please dont tell me this is the same Son from Spurs?
look closer, alongside him is Kane and Dele LOL
I am so happy this series became what I always knew it could have been. Thank you capcom for bringing one of my favorite series to an entire new audience and making it accessible to almost everyone! I remember the reactions i had way back when, when I saw these monsters for the first time and now it brings me so much joy seeing all these new players reacting the same way I did so long ago!
This review is for the unfamiliar and undecided. For the rest of us Veteran hunters, it’s time to gear up!

First GOTY Contender of the year! 2018 looking great so far. Another exciting year for gaming!
If any newcomers think the game maybe too complicated for you, try Toukiden 2 first, it's a great game to get your feet wet into the monster hunter games.
Gordon Shumway go get a psp and get mhfu lol
Venturing through the beautiful world of Monster Hunter, it makes me feel sad that we're destroying ours.
EA:The progression gives you a sense of pride and accomplishment
Monster Hunter World:Hold my beer
Fantastic game. I spent almost 8 hours on my first stint playing. It's hard to put down. I just wish the online component were more intuitive. It's kinds of tricky getting into a gameplay session with say, your wife, who would like to play with you.
I got over 200 hours in this game so far, and still looking forward to the PC release so I can play with my PC friends. Even though my PS4 buddies has moved on, I'm still having a blast playing on my own.
Is it just me or does the frame rate look terrible?
its not the best but even me who usually plays pc games on a 144hz monitor it wasn't distracting at all.
Good to know. Thanks for sharing!
The video wasnt uploaded at 60fps lol
Joseph Delgadillo standard ps4 20 to 30 frames , ps4 30 to 40 frames
Nope
Main reason this game caught my interest was that it was made by Capcom. I held off getting after seeing mixed reviews. My first night impressions are that I love it...especially the epic sunsets in the background...
Play from monster hunter 1 to monster hunter world ( some season have pass ) World map is truly amazing when get chasing.. ^_¡ hope Next season with More story in game and able to DIY your partner ( Kitty was ok, But human hunter if can ) than will be perfect >~
If this game is like Phantasy Star Online, then I am getting it yesterday!
I plan on getting this on Black Friday ($17.00 at Walmart), but it looks like it may be too overwhelming.
I was able to pick it up today for $20. Haven't started it yet, but it very much indeed does look like a lot to take in for newcomers. What console will you get it on?
PS4!
15 bucks at target right now.
PandaBush1 I got it today
Just got it yday already level four
TBH you have to be born to like such games, like me. For returning players, this will feel like a wonderful refreshment from the previous games in the franchise. For newer ones, everything will feel confusing and unlikable, as the game introduces mechanics which are in my opinion very unique to it. It is not about loving grinding, it is about being able to focus on it and understand that the story in this game is far from important.
I absolutely loved Witcher 3 but I’m a monster hunter / RPG noob , would I enjoy this game? Really wanna check it out
ITS DLOWE BABY If you like deep combat mechanics that makes you feel like you're getting better, and (imo) one of the only fun grinds out there, you'll like it.
I believe this game has a place for everyone, you just have to be willing to learn it and keep up. It'll seem slow and clunky at first, but over time you'll adapt and find it's one of the most robust action games out there. Just don't expect it to be easy.
Yeah MH is far more about combat and your skills, far less about story and overworld.
3:38 that “why” sounded so real lmao
I've been playing monster Hunter for years, now I'm even more excited for world
I'm ready to "fake sick" just to go home and play. I am very excited about this game.
Kind of a blow to Nintendo that not only did they lose the exclusivity of the IP, but also the latest and greatest release isn't even making it to one of their consoles.
Woah IGN. Keep up reviews like this n u might just gain my trust again.

Man, you remind me of myself. I was also this excited and hyped for the console versions. It truly is an amazing game
Time to buy a PS4
Pc time for me until it comes.
Playing the on my X
yea
It’s not only on the PS4.
where do you get it on the PC? i went on their mainsite and the only options were for ps4 or xbox
If you have never played MH, I highly recommend you giving this game a chance.
Trust me, it's genius. It's a masterpiece. You might think it's clunky, slow or whatever at first, but it's just a case of you having to "git gud".
is it challenging? i'm a noob and it took me 13 tries to beat vordt in ds3 lol
Karan Jani It is challenging, but not as unforgiving as the Souls games. The difficulty spikes aren't as high and the learning curve isn't as steep.
You should give it a try. It's kinda like it's own genre. There isn't anything like it (besides some low quality clones).
I got 3 more questions:
Thanks in advance.
well
1. I don't know about
2. well, the name describes it all, the LBG is very light, your faster and it'll be easier to dodge, but you'll have less damage, the HBG is the opposite, more damage, less mobility
Same here mann, just this game has no blood gore at all, which probably means they made it to playable for all ages
This game, all ages?!? Who are u kidding?
Samath Lokuge did you read my comment budd? Playable to all ages means, anyone can buy it, thats why there s no blood gore in it, wircher 3 is m rated, this game aint.
Samath Lokuge am not saying 3 yearsold gonna play it ahah
If it's anything like the others it's worth it.
Hi! I'm on both Pc & Xbox and would like to try out the game before I purchase it. I'm not familiar with the Monster Hunter franchise but this looks quite cool. So is there a beta or some kind of demo available? TY in advance! :)

Not only is the initial gameplay fantastic, even the updates are unbelieveable. GOTY indeed.
