    We are astrophotographers with a big question about INTVL. Is INTVL the Interval between the beginning of each exposure OR is INTVL the lenth of time from the end of one exposure and the start of the next??? If I set LONG to 30" and INTVL, will I get a series of 30" exposures separated by 15"? Or will I get a new exposure starting in the middle of the first 30" exposure? How will the camera behave? If I want 30" exposures separated by 30" each do I set INTVL for 60" or for 30"????

    I have exactly the same. Did as you said. And my camera takes no pic. Time counts and nothing happens.

    You need to have your camera closer to the intervalometer in order to really see what is going on.

    I just got this item but I found the backlight is extremely dim and there is no off switch... Only two things I don't like about it. Neewer is actually a pretty great company. All of my lights, including speedlights, monolights, and light modifiers are by Neewer. And I couldn't be happier. But I think I am going to look elsewhere for my intervalometer.

      It almost doesn't use any battery unless you are rolling it. For LED light, I just use mobile light for few seconds. For $10, its a good deal.

    I have a Canon 5D Mark IV. I chose the three pin cable and cannot get it to release the shutter. Is this the wrong remote for me or why will it not release?

    You must live in Middlesex County - in NJ - or near there. In your transitional clips I recognized the Great Beds lighthouse (I sail out of the Raritan Yacht Club in Perth Amboy) and I also recognized the Turnpike as seen from the Old Post Rd overpass in Edison. While watching UA-cam videos I usually don't expect to see familiar places - it was a fun surprise.
    I have the same intervalometer. I just put fresh batteries in it & I was preparing for a lengthy time-lapse.. many weeks in length. Should I expect the AAA batteries to run out of power?, or will it be able to be operated for such a long period of time without replacing the batteries?? I would hate to have dead batteries be the reason a time-lapse gets screwed up...

    • @revieweverything9828
      @revieweverything9828  5 років тому

      Yes, that was Edison. :) Not sure if it will operate for a week though. Never tried that long.

      I'm making a time-lapse now and I didn't want to chance having the batteries die, so to play it safe I swapped the AAAs for new ones yesterday (after 14 days). Perhaps after the time-lapse is done I'll re-install & sacrifice these partially used cells. I'll run them down completely to see how much longer they last - then we'll know what kind of life span to expect out of a new set :)

    I need to do art time lapse, which will require me to keep my camera steady focused at one point for 2-3 hours. In every 3 seconds I need my camera to take 1 frame. Camera is Nikon d3100. Do you think the intervalometer you have will do the trick?

  • @razorree

    Can i use intervalometer to engage continuous shooting (setting continuous on camera instead of bulb) for 20 seconds and delay/timer of few minutes ?
    (on Sony A6000)

    • @revieweverything9828
      @revieweverything9828  6 років тому

      So, one click of 20sec after some delay ?

    • @razorree
      @razorree 6 років тому

      one long press (20 sec long press - to keep continuous shooting), after 2-3 mins delay

    • @revieweverything9828
      @revieweverything9828  6 років тому

      No, you can't. You can keep your shutter time(20 secs)-one single click, with delay but the device send signal for just one click.

    Help me out with the long and interval settings. If I want to take a picture with a 20 second exposure with 3 seconds between each picture, would I set the long to 20 and the interval to 3... or would I set the long to 20 and the interval to 23 (the exposure time plus the interval)?

    • @revieweverything9828
      @revieweverything9828  6 років тому

      I believe 23. I stopped using this since my camera have inbuilt intervalometer.

    • @4funboatin
      @4funboatin 6 років тому

      20 sec exposure, but remember the camera is going to take time to process a long exposure, so it is best to try it out first to see how long the camera will process. The longer the exposure, the longer the camera process time, you would set your interval according to the process time.

    • @revieweverything9828
      @revieweverything9828  6 років тому

      No. Manual focus is how I shoot timelapse. You can try high f-stop.

    Totally unclear what you are doing to change the settings. Can't get mine to function. Just saying change when I don't know what to change or how to get it to change is of no help.

      you can't. Although, it doesn't use any power when Idle.

      I just keep the batteries out of it. Most of the time I'm just using it as a remote release, so I only put the batteries in if I need to use the timer function.
