The Sketchy History Of 'Don't Cha'
Вставка

- the muddy origin of ‘Dont Cha’ is interesting, a career defining 2005 hit for the burlesque group turned popstars wasn’t originally theirs. In fact, it had live a life of its own small success before being propelled to superstardom.

Don't cha just want the music industry to be less corrupt
never will happen lol. my friend was in a boyband and the shit he told me and what I saw w my own eyes.. ppl either won't believe it or their heads would explode because its bad.. really bad.
Tuh
I’ve been connected to the industry and it’s very evil. I’m a witness I no longer want to go the easy route as a producer they are fucked too in the industry it’s a lot of things against moral values and then leave you to die after they have gained your soul. Sad but true
Ok yeah exactly 💯🙄
@@naywalker1515 can you expalin what all off the soul thing bs that i always see on the yt comment im confused
CeeLo basically said Tori wasn't hot enough to represent the song. He's the last person to be discussing ANYBODY'S looks tbh 👀. I still remember seeing both CD singles from Tori and PCD at the music store at the same time, it was so weird. That song was hers.

This was the comment I was looking for.
The AUDACITY
JUST as I was LITERALLY wondering if this man was low-key calling the lady unattractive, I graced upon THIS comment
#agreed👏🏾💯👏🏾
CeeLo is CRAZY to think that...
Cee Lo saying she wasn't the Don't Cha girl, that she was "cool" "easy going" "bohemian" is just coded language for the fact that she didn't appeal to the male gaze enough. In the end, that's still how a woman's worth is determined in the industry is determined
This is exactly what I was thinking
right that was shady af
LOUDER LOUDER
some women should start some music companies, huh? then there would be no male satisfaction needed as this woman ceo/manager or whatever can run the company the way she feel is fair.....?
Ok I feel bad for her but I have to agree that she doesn’t sell the image of the lyrics
That’s so horrible. She wanted to be in the forefront and she was pushed back. It sounds like don’t cha would’ve been a hit regardless some people just weren’t patient
It was already being heavily played on radio in the Bay Area by the time PCDs version started coming out. Tbh I like Tori's version better.
Exactly 🤷🏿♀️😮and Ceelo with his oh she was laid back not really like that like what the hell is that suppose to mean like are you trying to say that black women can’t be sexy? Disgusting and I’m not here for it Tory should’ve been in the forefront making hits after hits when she was signed I swear this industry doesn’t cease to amaze me. 💯🙄😶

@@C2G2 pretty sure this isn't about race because the main leader of the PCD is brown-
@@jinxthesweet2837 Brown does not mean black. Nicole isn’t black. She’s brown skinned but she is Asian and Hawaiian not black.
It’s just sad because it perfectly shows that pop is just about marketability and not talent. She’s so beautiful but her image didn’t fit so they threw her to the side. It’s terrible that they didn’t even fully inform her and made her the last to know that the song was being given away.
For real because that’s the reason why Nicole’s career or the rest of PCD never took off, there all talented but to a fault there were so focus on marketing that the fully didn’t stand the test of time
I'm not surprised though because I feel like this happens to black women in the music industry all the time especially dark skin black women

@Cheeto Licker yeah but it was a different language
It was on the Sims 2 Pets, appropriate for a group called the "Pussycat" Dolls, LOL
@@potts995 lmao
The Pussycat dolls reminds of how Kpop groups are these days.. manufactured to be a hit, worked to the bone for a perfect look and sound.... it's very interesting
I mean after-school was basically completely modeled off of pussycat dolls. There is a lot of copycat groups like these in Korea.
Except most of these k pop groups are suffering mentally and physically. They have strict mangers and all of them are talented. I wish more people would make a video on kpop groups because it’s honestly sad. A lot of suicide is involved with people in kpop groups
@@sademouton7391 I fee like every kpop fa knows about this, they just don't put it on blast as much I think they should. This situation is very similar to the Ashanti and J.Lo mess. They (P.didy, Ja Rule etc,) really did Ashanti dirty :(
They did her way dirty, Ashanti is incredibly talented and I can’t say the same for that messy industry plant
Yes!! It was just so disrespectful especially having her in the video
My first thought. Especially mentioning Puffy I thought, "oh yeah, Puffy wanted to know the girl, maybe see if he could pull some of her songs for J.Lo or some artist he dumps in a year or two."
These men really judging women as fat and ugly because they're not specifically like J.Lo or PCD. Mind you both dancers with dancer bodies and trying to sell them as full rounded talents and suspiciously stealing from still gorgeous black singers like Tori and Ashanti. We wouldn't be out here like mocking birds if the environment wasn't full of the same repeated noise.
When ever I hear of p diddy I think of that arg with the note books
@Nani Boricua I legit always thought Ashanti did "I'm Real" and even now I still hear and picture her not "Waiting For Tonight" J.Lo. My mind just puts the song with the Mesmerize MV and goes "I don't know her" like Mariah to J.Lo's version lol.
Honestly I think the group would have been if every member in the group sang and weren’t just there for looks like obviously there is always going to be that one member that stands out of the group but I feel like we didn’t even get know the other girls like they glorified back up dancers that occasionally lift to their mic up to “sing”
At that time, only Nicole and Melody were signed to sing and the others as the dancers, with the exception of Carmit who actually sung on a couple of the songs
Yeah it's confusing too because they were a burlesque group which I always thought meant everyone was a singer and dancer. Of course that choir sound isn't very pop, and it would be years before Pentatonix and Glee kinda changed that perception
Who else remember Rasputia singing "Don't Cha" in the movie Norbit?
"How you doin?"
