The TYM T224 is a 22hp, subcompact tractor designed for homesteaders and first-time tractor owners moving up from zero-turn mowers and into equipment meant more for land management.
Bought one and have to say it works great. Did the TLB without the mower deck. I have rented a BX23 in the past and this actually moved boulders and other items the BX was not able to around my yard.
I have the T194 that believe tym doesn't produce anymore but is basically the same tractor except for horse power. It has been a great tractor so far . I have used it for more that what it was actually designed for with no issues. I would recommend the TYM brand to anyone wanting or needing a small or large tractor.
I own a TYM 224, just bought it 2024. I noticed the glow plug ignition key position does not work.. The key will not turn to the left which is the glow plug position... It starts fine just turning the key to the start position, just strange that it shows a glow plug position on the key switch but it will not turn to the glow plug position. The owners manual shows the glow plug position also. Beautiful little tractor though.
Excellent video! This was great for helping learn some things about tractors in general, but more importantly helping me understand TYM. The one thing that I didn’t hear you ask (and maybe it’s because they all come with it now), but is there a float mode on the loader?
Ya not a fan of that paddle either but I could live with it. I think the pin on bucket is the deal breaker for me but that's my opinion such a nice and a real tractor I am going to go with the t254 wich shovels my dislikes 😄 of the t224 Cheers 🍻
I see blinkers and brake lights. Are they road legal on secondary roads or something? Can these be used to move car utility trailers around the yard? Can you add a ball hitch? Thanks
In most states farm machinery is 'street legal' if using an orange triangle sign on the back. The lights and indicators just make a safer road experience. It also cuts down the manufacturer's liability.
yes. you can mount a ball to your bucket and drive in reverse or add a bar between the three point hitch that has a ball. Some have a plate already mounted for a ball, but don't know what tym is doing in 2024. You can pick up a bar with a ball at tractor supply fairly cheaply.
