I had a girlfriend who somehow snagged a job at the racetrack.. she literally just brushed, walked, and played with the horses all day and actually made pretty good money. We were like 22-23 at the time. I'd say that's a pretty cool job lol

That's an excellent job. I once worked in an expensive chocolate store. Had to taste every chocolate, in the store to be able to tell the customer, what it tasted like. Gained 10lbs that year. Good times, lol.

As an introvert, Covid has actually forced me to be more social. I now have to do all my shopping during "normal" daylight hours like everyone else, and I have to repeatedly tell my customers to put their face masks on, then continue the dialogue by explaining that it also goes over their nose. While waiting for them to dig one out of some unknown recess of thei pockets or purse, we eventually get to trivialities like the weather and the price of eggs before they walk away to prey on their need for human contact elsewhere.
Oh no, that sucks. I am an introvert w an emotionally unavailable partner. He does all the shopping but bothers me very little meanwhile. I love lockdown. Now if the needy just stopped calling aswell..i have a thousand loner hobbies and am saviouring this prescious time, its soon over. 😕
@UAPhilosophyKristin Thanks for that. It's incredibly frustrating doing it day after day, not least because we've passed the 1-year mark in my area, so none of this is remotely new to anyone. I don't even get the denialists or the fake-health condition complaints anymore; just vapid, complacent, and indignant people who want to be treated with respect like grown adults despite offering little evidence they are one.
@@adamluther5836 Thank you! As someone who has to go maskless due to a nervous system disorder - sufferers of certain health conditions are exempted under UK rules - it gets awkward enough for me, without also having to say anything to those not wearing masks properly (or at all)!

Self deprecating humour has never been super common in America (and Canada). It is however very popular in England and Australia. It shows you can be modest and have the confidence to accept ridicule because you know exactly what your self worth is. It falls into the category of non-literal humour, like sarcasm.
@@kingcosworth2643 🥰 here in India it's not common either. I dont hear many jokes or people talking about their own short comings in a light hearted way. It might be too serious of a topic since there is so much competition for even basic needs as a job or housing and you have to have your A game all the time. . 🤔 I might be over thinking it but who knows. I think it's cool when we can call ourselves out and basically do a face palm thing in realization. As long as we don't continue the screw ups😅 I'm from America originally but I do see what you are saying, some folks don't believe they can do any wrong.. That's also probably why there are so many videos of people freaking out because they can't just acept they are just humans who make mistakes. With myself tho I've had to be told that even thru my jokes it sounded like I was really being over critical and just harsh. After thinking about it, they were right, I gathered up a lot of negative feelings for myself, maybe I thought I could save myself from other people's critical views. Charlotte said something similar about that at around 3:50 time on the video. I like that we can learn about different ways of life people have all over the world. When the internet is used as a tool for good and knowledge. I hope the rest of the world catches up on the self accepting. It will be a good time. Thanks for the response. It really made me think 🙂✌

@@april4872 There are many Indians Immigrants in Australia and on the whole they are very hard working and quite serious. There seems to be little time for play. That belief can make make you quite successful here and Indian immigrants tend to do quite well here. I have never travelled to India, but just by my dealings with the Indian immigrants, families expect educational success and then business or career success. Like I said that sort of discipline will take you far here, but it does seem to lack some smiles. First generation Indians tend to act a bit more loose so it has got to do with the countries respective cultures. We don't breed to strongest work ethic here, the Government will save you (to a degree) I gather in India it is up to you, you have work ethic or you starve?
I'm a big advocate of self-depricating humor. At least at healthy levels. The biggest reason is that you already know your flaws, and people can't successfully roast/bully you if you already admit your faults to yourself. As long as you don't start finding flaws that you DON'T have, it should be fine.
If you are self aware, self deprivation just comes with the territory. 😂

Hey! In some cultures unibrows are where it's at!! Trust worthy, blessed by special gifts etc. 😃👍 but then again if you don't dig it yourself it could grant wishes and it would not make a difference. I am an introvert and the virus has not changed my life except that I finally got a job after a few years of not having one in an economically depressed area. The cherry on top is that I work from home.
Fellow introvert here. Likely heading back to the office next year and have to admit freaking out a little at the thought of having to leave the house and having to wear decent pants.

You are loved more than you know . I also use to have these thoughts many many years ago. I learned your mind is like a mansion. With infinite rooms.. Every room a different memory containing a different emotion. When you are sad , or having bad thoughts. Close your eyes and step out of that room. Think of the happiest memory you have. Re live how you felt and know you control your emotions and feelings and you can pull yourself out of the darkness. Meditating is great 💗
@@krystleconner5690 the fact that I'm loved by everyone around me is what kept these thoughts as thoughts only .. i really can't get them out of my head but i push them aside to live my days with my loved ones i dont have the courage to act on it or go to seek help so i guess I'll just keep pushing it aside for now

Completely agree with you. It kinda takes away some of the pressure I feel, for not wanting to go out. Wearing a mask when I do also is nice as then I am one of the crowd.

I hear ya! I no longer have to listen to my families comments like,
"You never go anywhere. You need to get out more."
"Doesn't it make you stir-crazy being home all the time?" No, it does not.
"How do you stay sane only going somewhere a couple times a month?" Because being in large crowds or in large stores, parks, etc. makes my anxiety go sky-high. And I DO leave my house....I just don't go any further than my front or backyard. Lol! I'm in my 50's now and I'd have to say it's probably only been the last 5yrs (minus the last 2 since those were quarantine years) that I no longer feel the need to explain my reasoning behind this choice when I'm asked these questions by family and friends. Everyone's different and just because a person feels more comfortable staying home....for whatever the reason, doesn't mean something is negatively wrong about them. If they're smiling and happy that is what matters the most.
"It's just part of who I am and it's why I'm happy" is the response I wish I had said to them years ago when they were concerned for me. Because the very first time I said this to my family I physically saw the concern disappear from their faces.

Actually i like the idea of the clear masks. I think they should actually be more common because it allows people to be able to lip read if they are deaf/hard of hearing, whereas they cant with normal masks
