This is really fascinating, and I think useful. I've been considering a project where I'd need to transfer mechanical motion into a vacuum chamber. As long as I could get the necessary torque, this would be a great solution!
Me as well! Let me know how it works out. 🙂
Very interesting and well explained. Would really like to see a rough torque increase/reduction measurement.
As unique as always ❤️
I love that this is literally just some nerds who like playing with magnets. Love your stuff :)
Always fascinating.
Have you seen the magnetic levitation using bismuth?
thank you for the video, how fast a wheel can turn at most with the magnetic ratio
What would be the configuration so that they rotate contrary between faces but at the same speed?
How do you set the distance between the high speed rotor and low speed rotor if I change the size and number of magnets?
Hey so i have limited materials and only one size magnets, could it still work with one size?
Hi. May I ask the maximum torque transmitted by this design?
Thank you.
Great
what's the relationship between the input magnets diameter vs output magnets diameter?? I mean, how big or how small can be the output magnets to get the spedd *4 or /4??? THANKS
I’m wanting to design a new type of transmission for electric vehicles specifically, I want the transmission to be decently thin so the motors can be between the rear tires to keep as much weight above the rear tires and low as possible, I was hoping something like this was possible so you could have electromagnets that just flip with a switch to change gearing ratios. Does anyone know how this magnetic gearing scales for something dealing with the forces of a car?
👍🏼 Very cool! Can you say more about the polarity app and what the smartphone requirements are....? 🤔 Thanks! ✌🏼😎

@@KJMagnetics Only on apple?
My brain breaks a little but how would you achieve this with a passive system that doesn’t require a drive? So it would only spin in one direction at a constant rate?
thank you so much ,
plz why does it turn in the oposite direction
The number of stator teeth (i.e. the number of screws) used in the middle part must be: N1 ± N2 (with N1, N2 the number of N/S magnet pairs on each rotor). The sum is for opposite direction, the difference is for the same direction. Here: N1 = 16 magnets / 2 = 8, N2 = 4 magnets / 2 = 2. The number of screws is 10 = 8 + 2, so opposite direction. Had you chosen 8 - 2 = 6 screws the directions of rotation would be the same.
You deserve a CNC wood machine.
why do they rotate in inverse direction? can you make it to rotate in the same direction?
Yes if you take out the pole pieces in the middle.
მაგარია,ნიჭიერი ხარ.
Cud be potential in this mmmmm
Eg solar power transfer through a surface would have to use electro mags cud be a fan on other side of the solid none magnetic surfaces eg glass, wood, ...good for low torque applications more of gimmick than useful
