I never forgot it and as I matured bought his records. Didn't get a chance to see him in person until I was in my early forties and living in the DMV. Every time I heard he was in DC or the Virginia area I went to see him. Even as he aged he never let his fans down. The consummate performer. Read his biography online and he lived the life he sung about. so glad I lived during that time. He really could turn and wring out a phrase and until you felt the heart ache or longing. Loved his talent! Still listen to him today and have him on my iPhone playlist. Nothing like cruising along in my muscle sports car listening to Bobby Bland!
