I'm a 58 year old white man. Often times playing these songs, fans would come up and tell me they were looking for the black front man when they first came in the club or street party. Our 10 piece horn section played all the way from Chicago down to Dayton Ohio and points in between. I threw so many of these in the mix. The crowds were predominantly white and didn't know this old stuff. I gave credit to all the artists. I dig it. I love it. I miss the old days.
Brothers and Sisters we got to keep this soul music going and we got to get it back to where it was. So lets Bring Black Back-all the way back. We got to go back to when we were parying and having good times, you know dressing sharp and repecting each other and not shoooting and disrespeccting our sisters, parents and children. We can do it, all you have to do is "Accept your own and be Your Black self". Lets take our hoods back and make them Black Communities where we see us when we spend our money.
