Very good FSD video, I really like your narration style. Please continue making these videos. I do agree that the incorrect-lane correction was TOO close for comfort.
Thank you for your support!! I enjoy making these FSD videos. I’m glad to hear you enjoy watching them. Stay tuned for more videos. I heard FSD version 13.2.4 is starting to rollout!
It isn’t that your Tesla cut close to the corner. That truck was way beyond the line where it was supposed to stop. Even then I’d hope fsd would give a little more room. From this video, it didn’t look that close to the bmw. At least not to me.
That was absolutely reckless by FSD, in my opinion. The gap between that BMW and my vehicle was beyond what normal gaps should ever be. I think FSD was hyper focused with correcting its mistake in terms of getting into the right lane, and completely oversaw the safety component. Definitely not a great situation.
Ah yes that is a big no no. I also have a highest exit that FSD cannot seem to handle very well. For me it’s located by a major downtown/city area. Are you seeing this behavior near a major city/downtown environment as well?
Yes, I do notice and mentioned to you before that using the free trial FSD 13.2.2 does like to get quite close vehicles and objects like trash cans on the right side of the neighborhood streets. Much more than I would do. I am also in cold weather so myself not sure if it is weather related. My free trial is up in about a week from now, so I am glad I am getting a chance to try the latest FSD version. Not purchasing FSD at this time. I hope they give me another free trial in warmer weather in the summer. But I shall see if they allow Tesla owners to try whatever latest version is at that time again. Thanks for the video. Take care.
Very interesting to hear that you also recognize the close proximity of objects and turns. The fact that you are also in cold weather definitely makes me think more closely on the cold being a potential cause, but certainly will require more investigation. I hope they give you a free trial in the summer as well! They have been pretty graceful with the free trials so I’m sure you’ll get it! Great to hear from you as always!!!
@@DriveElectricToday you are welcome. Me too, uncertain if it is weather related how FSD drives. For the most part it does pretty good. Enjoy all your FSD videos and narrative - your video camera shows everything very well. Take care.
Unfortunately, in North America, most drivers do indeed go a certain amount over the speed limit. I wish that wasn’t the case but almost 99% of the drivers here go 10-15% over the set limit. Which is why I believe Tesla included the “max offset” setting to allow for FSD to keep up with the flow of traffic. It’s interesting to hear about the camera system in Australia issuing fines. Do you find most drivers in Australia driving at or below the limit?
@@DriveElectricToday drivers still speed, pass over double lines , get killed and pay fines. I don't know why. Every time there is a crash and death, I look for double lines and mostly they are there. Come on robot drive.
This was good to see. IMO FSD is not even close to being ready. First, Tesla needs LiDAR and other detection devices …cost cannot and should not be a factor. Just don’t do FSD until these other safeguards are incorporated.
I dont know... I think it is close, but for sure not done. Mine does questionable things at times for sure. I think you are spot on about incorporating LIDAR. Anyway, totally respect what you are saying. I guess I am really blown away by how far it has come. But it does tend to blow me away by something cool it does, followed by something stupid. Last night did a full stop at flashing yellow😀
LOL!!! The amount of times I am absolutely amazed then suddenly let down by FSD is hilarious. It’s funny you can relate to the same roller coaster of feelings 😆
@ I have to agree, I am blown away by how good it is. Still, my reservations are that FSD launches without the safest technology available. It is my understanding that LIDAR will not add an unreasonable cost to incorporate. The mfg. needs to eat the minimal cost or add it in to the price, this should not be even a consideration.
With respect to the close pass on the BMW. A friend of mine with FSD on a Model X always says “2 inches ain’t touching”. 😂

Yes for sure - The truck was absolutely beyond the line
What about cutting it close to the BMW?

@@DriveElectricToday 4:16 was a sphincter-tightening moment 😂
Picking the wrong lane is my biggest problem with v13.2.2. Today it took a freeway exit it shouldn’t have.

"Naturally drivers go over the speed limit!" Do they? Why? I am in Australia where we have camera's all over the place issuing speeding fines.

Absolutely - that point really is displayed in situations like this where FSD is interrupting incorrect distances
