Do you ever find the clip-on mics resonate more with the drum? I LOVE the idea of not having a crapload of stands around, but have always been curious about that.

I switched back and forth with these mics and my 421s (on stands) and never noticed a difference as far as the resonance goes. But you made me curious, so I just made a quick A-B test... There's a reason why I never noticed a difference, even if the mic vibrates a tiny bit, it's almost unnoticeable to the ear. I'll send you my A-B test files by email. I have to say, not having a bunch of mic stands around the drums is pretty awesome. Now I think I'll do a vid on this ;-)

Hi Chris, very helpful video! Thank you for that! Do you record drums for more then one song in one project? Or for each drum tracking separat Cubase projects? Understandable? Thank you! 😊 Thomas

hi man, i love your work, i love when i get a notification for your new video. thanks. because i also have cubase, your videos are priceless . I'm about to replace my current audio interface, have been checking some videos and comments about the steinberg ur824, it could be a good option for me, as we can have 3 of them connected to the same computer, for some extra channels. i have a few synths i would like to have permanently connected to cubase, as well as some external gear. could you please be cool (even more :) and tell me what interface you are using, how many channels Ins you can have/record at once in cubase, and if you are using some additional cards/extensions, like adat, which adat converter are you using. do you have external gear connected to it, with wordsync, etc ? can you further expand the system, with more cards, etc ? thanks in advance, your reply as a pro-intensive-user will be much more valuable than watching 300 videos or reading 300 product spec pages. again, thank you.

I have a Lynx Aurora 16 as my converters/interface ... so 16 In/Out. I think it may be worthed to do a video on this. It will be easier for me to go more in depth through a vid for this one :-) I'll keep you posted! Thanks !

Hi Chris, thx for your videos that are very helpful. One question: How do you deal with the snare buzz in your recording session cause your snare sounds pretty clean without loosing it soul... Maybe a next video about how you set the drums...?

For the bassdrum holes you can buy a coverplate optional...Looks a little bit better and the air stays a bit inside...:)

How are you hooking up the monitor by your drum set? Thanks for the great videos. I appreciate all the time and hard work you put into the presentation.

That was from my old computer where I had a splitter from the computer to my Monitors.

Hi when doing a drum song in takes how do i hear the previously recorded part (when recording) without having to duplicate folders a few times or is that the only way. Sonar had a feature to let you record over and hear back exsiting takes on the same channel was super useful

How do you set the input gain levels on the interface from the live room? Can you set them on the lynx software (mixer) or do you need to physically turn the knobs on the interface? Now that I think about it, I don't think the lynx has physical knobs...? I don't know, I use a Focusrite 18i20. I usually just have the physical interface with me in the same room to have accesses to the gain knobs. But I would love to do that remotely. I thought maybe with the mix control software that it comes with but I'm not sure.

My lynx interface is mainly a converter so there's no preamps, only xlr to DB25 connctors. I use external preamps. To ajust your gain for recording, you will need to physically turn the knobs :-)
