- Ive played long guitar before, but this long guitar is short! what does it mean? It sounds fun through the HX Stomp though, I wouldn't mind owning one.

Very cool!
Thanks Ryan for the great review :)
Any clone of the Taylor mini bass is rad as hell
Oooooohhh..adding this to my GAS list!
Those Ortegas sound better than they should.
Nice shirt 😉🙂👏👍
thanks! I had just seen them play like a week or two before recording this.
If you want an inexpensive bass to play around on but would like it to be fairly good, I highly recommend the Ibanez TMB100. I own a 2002 Fender American Jazz Deluxe Bass, a 1997 Fender American P-bass, a 1972 American Fender Musicmaster and a 1994 American Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray. My point is I'm a complete snob when it comes to basses, I was playing bass in bands before I got married and had kids so I had the ability to spend that kind of dough and max out credit cards on American made basses. Because of that I tend to think every import bass I play is a complete piece of shit. The only bass that I picked up and was SHOCKED at how good it sounded and felt and was tempted to buy it was the Ibanez Talman Bass. It was surf green and looked like a Jazzmaster/Jaguar so it's right up your alley! It has an Active preamp so you cut through the mix, it has a split coil p-bass in the neck and Jazz at the bridge and felt like it may have been a little shorter scale. Not a complete short-scale like my Musicmaster but kind of like a Ric. Best part is the price. Theres one on sale on Reverb for 150 bucks or so and no I am not the seller.
I've played plenty of nice import basses. Too many to remember even.
so is it a medium guitar? idk i’m not a scientist
did he just do a bad impression of davie504???
NattyK99 a very bad impression
Slapppp!!!
You only use a pick on a bass when playing punk or ska. You always watch Star Trek always!
Slap that bass like it stole something
Slap it like it's Glenn Fricker!
Way too pricey for what it is. Other than travel, I don't see the use.
Argh! Acoustic basses... I hate them. What is the point of being "acoustic" if you need to plug it in to be able to hear the damn thing?
G L Wilson I use mine for recording, because it gives a more "woody" tone than my jazz and P-basses. They are definitely not for everyone! 🤘🎸😎
@@JackTheRabbitMusic I can sort of see that, but often times with acoustic basses you can replicate the sound quite easily on an electric bass. I used to have a Hofner violin/beatle-bass knock-off that had a very nice acoustic sounding tone. Also, if these instruments are essentially electric, then why the hollow bodies, the acoustic guitar design, the round soundhole beneath the strings, etc? You could get the same effect on a solid or semi-hollow body with the same pickup systems. I think my point is that these type of instruments are "acoustic" in aesthetics only, and that really bugs me on a bass.
G L Wilson true. I also have an electric with piezo, and I can get the very similar tones out of that. I actually do play my acoustic bass unplugged at rehearsals with my acoustic group, but definitely plug in at gigs. I totally see your point. I guess it's just fun for me lol 🙂
@@JackTheRabbitMusic I've tried to play acoustic bass with other musicians when plugging in simply isn't an option. They just don't cut it and it's hard to make yourself heard over even a couple of acoustic guitars. Once at an "unplugged" club (no amps allowed) I was playing a fretless acoustic bass that I used to own whilst accompanying vocals, three acoustic guitars, sax and clarinet. It was near impossible to make myself heard and all subtlety in playing fretless went out the window.
G L Wilson Yeah, over all that going on, there's no way you'd be heard. I don't use mine for gigs, just rehearsal when it's just myself, one guitar, and a female soprano vocalist.
