Thanks for the video. We will be there in September
Those shelters are appreciated. Not having to pack a wet or damp tent in the mornings is a bonus.
So are docks!
Always wondered what it looked like. Thanks for the trip!
Nice video dude. The gf and I are planning to make the trip up from Florida next summer .
Great video! I'm hoping to backpack the island soon. How did you plan your route?
We got the detailed trail map that National Geographic puts out. It has all the detailed mileages between trail junctions and campgrounds. Then we just planned an out and back loop to Rock Harbor according to the time we had and the amount of miles we wanted to do per day.
Nice video. What time during the summer was your trip? I notice that the time stamp says Sep 9, but was hoping to learn more about how bad the mosquitos are later in the season (Labor Day weekend). Thanks!
We were there in early August
I hear from people that visited Isle Royale that bugs can be bad from June to mid August. I wonder if there is no predator for those snakes? Seem to be too many in one area. They would freak out my wife.
The bugs were bad in certain areas but probably not a lot different than you would see in areas of the UP or Northern Minnesota.
Any snake people got an explanation?
Sleeppad?
I have a Klymit Static V sleeping pad
