I'm so glad you're enjoying it so far, Irit! Da Vinci does hand-pour their pans with the same formula as their tubes! Their sets even have refill options that come with tubes! :)
Thank you for sending it to me! I've been loving da vinci paints. If I were in the US it would be my go to brand without a doubt. Your choice of colors is lovely ❤️ well done!!
How fun! You and Denise were my among the first watercolor UA-camrs that I followed, taught me about the joys of watercolor and inspired me to dive deep into this wonderful medium. (thank you!) Love the color selections of the Earth Friendly palette and am lucky to be on same coast as Da Vinci Paints to grab their colors and palettes! I enjoy them so much. Da Vinci Red is my favorite color! ;) I love their Manganese Blue Mix and Gold Ochre too.
I've been using my Earth Friendly palette for almost two years pretty much to the detriment to all my other palettes (yes even the Daniel Smith). This palette is pretty much perfect for me as someone that loves to paint animals, landscapes, and People of Color which the earth colors mixed with the spectral colors are AMAZING for.
I’ve been wanting to get this palette and her newest one which is called Embrace Opacity. I’ve learned that while I love traditional transparent watercolors, I’m also a big fan of opaque colors on occasion and also enjoy dabbling in gouache! Thanks for sharing swatches and thanks to Denise for making that happen!
i love denise's channel, you are both a huge source of inspiration (and also just watercolor eye candy haha) for me. so cool to see you trying out her palette!! i adore the da vinci paints i've tried too (also thanks to denise's videos haha), and their perylene green is on all of my palettes!
I love this set, it's my first intro to Da Vinci and I'm super impressed! I added Nickel Azo Yellow, Manganese Blue, and Joyce's Green. It's a lovely brand, and thanks to Denise for this palette!
Hey what great timing - I was just wanting to watch a video of yours to get psyched up to do some dotcard swatches tonight.... I got the entire set of DaVinci dotcards! Exciting. I've never bought a premade palette from DaVinci but I really admire ALL the collab sets. Almost any of them would be a great starter set for someone. I love how they offer them in different configurations - pre-poured, with or without refill tubes, or pour your own! This was Denises' first palette with DaVinci and now that she's brought out a third, they also updated this one with the Stormy Blue, which is one of the new colors she designed. I have actually tried it off the dotcard and I LITERALLY PAINTED STORMY SKIES AND SEA WITH IT 🤣 When I was at the beach. It was perfect! Scratchmade Journal also has a great starter palette and she really, really loves the Raw Sienna Deep in mixes because it is granulating (some companies call it Transparent Yellow Oxide.) So I bet you would like it that way. I still need to try some mixing with it. The Terra Cotta (aka Light Red) is a color that is very common in England, but not in the US. Winsor and Newton changed their formula, but DaVinci's is made with PR102 like W&N's old version. It is like a lighter, oranger venetian red, and extremely opaque and strong. I find it quite difficult to mix with, but it makes an amazing black mixed with indanthrone!
Denise is amazing and so happy to see the connection between you expands throughout this community, influencing and motivating people like me. I had no interest in a palette like this, but after seeing you work with it - yep... now it's a big want!! lol! As for the missing white & black, I completely agree. As much as I like having them, I just don't use them enough to justify buying them anymore. This is a really beautiful set up and some fantastic colors. I think I just drooled on my keyboard! Cheers to you and Denise for all the sharing, here! Stay well and thank you! ~ Mark
I have the Opacity palette also curated by Denise. I got it because the concept of that palette is so unique. I love it and recently added some brighter colours as I felt them missing for some of my paintings! Luckily they had a awesome sale at that moment. It would be great if they would easier to get here in Germany!
The palette looks very nice! I want to ask where did you get the paint brush (what brand)? I want to see your artwork using this curated set of palette by Denise 🥰
Irit you will be the end of my existence haha… I bought every recommendation you have and I am getting bankrupt 😂 I love the flashe paints and hoard them like crazy. And now this! Hahha😂
