Publishers are the best for weird freebies. One time I go an OST for a completely different game, which, of course, made me want to buy that game too. I love the Day One stuff that shows up unexpected. Stickers are fun even if I'm long past being an eight-year old. Full a while as a kid the mall had a huge kiosk full of stickers. Atari days...so long ago.
Coming into this review about two years later since it's original upload for the first time and taking an interest into this game I want to make it clear real quick to never worry about what other's think of this game that come in from Hades or other difficult roguelikes. Literally who cares what they think. Their views will never influence or harm a game like this. It's all about what the individual player that takes interest into a game like this thinks, not them since they only care about their western titles and hardcore roguelikes more over anything else. If they think it's too easy and too casual then that's their problem. Anyways this was a very detailed and thorough review of what to expect from a game like this. Thanks for that. I find it absolutely stupid though personally that the player themselves is part of this and has to control the character through a camera instead of controlling the character like any other game without the presence of you the player being mentioned unless it's done for comedy. Sorry I just seriously hate how players are part of the story as some 4th wall breaking bullcrap. This game will be a pick up from me.
@@Shizlgizl Story, gameplay, sound design, voice acting, art direction - ALL are factors in Hades success. It's an incredibly polished game, and fun as hell to boot!
@@hellboy1976 I like Hades, but I find some of the boss battles to be a little underwhelming. Especially the really tedious fight with the bull guy and that other dude that shoots arrows at you I think.
In my opinion I think you do not need to apologize that you like the game so much. If someone relies on it and is disappointed, that is not your business. As long as you are honest you can give a game 10 out of 10 no matter if everyone else thinks the game sucks as far as I am concerned.
I have defeated only one boss, but so far I love the game. Especially the mini-cores mechanic, the fact that they expire with time makes it difficult to overpower yourself for the rest of the run. Hope this game gets more atention, thanks for the review.

I'm here from switchup mentioning this in one of their recent videos and I'm a huge fan of rougelike games. This was a good review and yet another not AAA title added to my wishlist!
Looks good but even in the background the characters constant screams was annoying 🤣 to be fair I'm bias, I'm definitely a dub-dude. Might get it on sale and play with the sound low sometime

The game is so cute looking, gave me a Custom Robo feel, the price was just right... and our game tastes seem to match up pretty well, so I am ecstatic for my copy to ship in end of October (bought it with F Frame and Robot Wars, gotta wait Y-Y a bit)
Miss Bubbles: play what you like, but there's a world of fun out there. I have favorite genres and a copy I generally avoid but find worthwhile fun all over my shelf of games. So much backlog and too much dabbling is my annoying problem.

Random levels usually mean derivative and 4:00 tons of walls for shields sounds repetitive. Just see if you played worse since your comment. There's also 30xx if you don't mind but this roguelike genre has a ton of stuff. There's always sales loke metallic child on switch is $18. There are also makers (and PSVR2, which I really like tabletop demeo with the 5 scenarios having different layouts entirely with height and sight mechanics) nowadays as well, which I'll see what people create with wargroove 2 (strategy rpg).
I wish there was a Metacritic for Indie games as most of them aren't reviewed or looked at. So im glad to see your review on them, I'll probably be picking this one up just bcuz I love the Megaman franchise.

7:41 Story mode + Invincible mode! I am sold to add Metallic Child to my backlog. 🙌 I got burnt by Megaman 11's Newcomer mode, the infinite lives, increased health, lower damage from enemies were great, but it meant I had repeat the same stuck level again and again for infinity which I dreaded until my slow fingers break. 😭😭 Please do tell what is in Invincible mode? Do I still take damage from enemies? Can I still encounter Game Over screen from non-enemies attacks? Must I repeat the level over and over and over again until I beat it? Please tell me Invincible mode is not the same as Newcomer mode in Megaman 11.

Well, I am still alive even though I could not play anything for month or two. I studied Japanese but could not make it to the exam. That was pretty bad but I will try again.
This game is kicking my ass up and down but I love every second of it. It makes you want to keep coming back for more because each run is unique. It's easy to pick up, but *hard* to master.

Played a heck (hack?!) of roguelikes: Nethack, Angband and ADOM. You know the closest to the original Rogue. Now going on with the roguelite + dungeon crawler with some Mega Man, sign me up already! I have this on wishlist, might actually get it some way in future. Review surely helps with it, thanks. As a couple of these genres mentioned, here's two on the Switch you might be interested to review/check out: Touhou Genso Wanderer and Titan Quest.

I love the permanent upgrades. The temporary upgrades are always a tease and end up pissing me off. I’m glad the negative stuff can time out. I may check it out. ✋🏽

My only problem with this game is the visual overload, the hud especially, however, the game is pretty solid and fun! I know it just will take me a bit longer to ajust to the game, really amazing

Game not bad but the default control are terrible can't recommended until it's fixed unfortunately.
