It's also fitting for Blackbeard to take the "easy" route. Luffy doesn't want an existing ancient weapon, he didn't want to hear about the One Piece from Rayleigh, he didn't even want the Grand Fleet at the start. Blackbeard on the other hand is perfectly ok waiting for the Whitebeard pirates to find his favorite fruit, he gets a sneak kill on a dying Whitebeard to get his fruit, he has spies everywhere instead of acquiring information himself etc. It'd be fitting for him to snag an ancient weapon that's pretty much a cheat code to destroy any island he wants.
I wouldn't be too surprised that the swamp swamp logia dude actually works for BB. The dude's despicable and haven't got his comeuppance yet, at least Caesar (the gas gas df scientist) gets a beatdown from Luffy

Blackbeard has already done enough to piss Luffy off, but imagine how mad Luffy would be if Blackbeard ravaged a country that Luffy and his allies worked so hard to protect. He might even kill some of the samurai while stealing Pluton. That would rub more salt on the wound and solidify Blackbeard's position as Luffy's personal nemesis.
If the Caribou-Blackbeard theory is correct, BB also knows Shirahoshi is Poseidon.
Luffy would be double-pissed if BB goes after both Wano and Fish-Man Island.

the ONLY reason i could see buggy having it, would be to serve the parallel with the “muggy ball.” the muggy ball or whatever it was called, was a huge cannon that destroyed orange town. i’d imagine that at the time, buggy did seem like a threat to manga readers with that weapon. to make buggy feel like a genuine threat, give him pluton, and have buggy be dumb enough to rename it to something like, “The muggy ball 2” idk. this is a reach for sure, but something i quickly thought. i don’t want buggy to have it, but it’s just an interesting idea imo
If Buggy steals the Pluton Ship whenever the Strawhats leaves Wano then that means that Crocodile will achieve his dream of getting Pluton and destroying the World Government with it besides making the most profits off of him getting the most funds from Marines bounties.

Buggy is a real candidate. He's already been to Wano before with roger pirates and has crocodile who has huge interest in pluton. Maybe buggy already knows pluton is in wano that's why crocodile joined him.

idk about 1st commander. Since mihawk has the zoro matchup, that means sanji gets the crocodile matchup, while luffy has to face the strongest of course - the man who came closer than anyone to killing luffy.

now that I think about it, croc probably does have a grudge against blackbeard for stealing his dream of killing whitebeard. and, if this theory is true, then crocodile will also see his dream of having pluton taken by blackbeard. he will have lots of motivation to go against bb in the endgame.

In your video about the difference between Blackbeard and Luffy, you memtioned that Blackbeard often cheats his way to power. Obtaining power rather than earning it. It makes a lot of sense for Blackbeard to steal Pluton, while Franky builds it. Also make sense why initially Luffy would refuse it.
Blckbeard would be a hero if he weren't so quick to hurt others. Someone who relies on a purpose he built himself, someone who researches and turns tables, someone who can bring change to the masses...

Blackbeard spent almost his entire life, from 16 onward, on whitebeards ship. If he was delt a bad hand early on in life then is was completely canceled out by the love and support he received from a crew he would betray. Blackbeard was never a good person, he was probably never going to be a good person
That's why he's such a compelling character IMO. Any time he's onscreen you can be sure that something interesting is likely to happen.

All of his power comes from a bad place. His crew is made up the worst criminals of this generation. Both his devil fruits are only his, because he waylaid his own crew mates.
I can not think of one thing that black beard could accomplish without his devil fruit abilities, and overpowered crew.
What I’m saying is if we changed nothing in the story but made black beard a moral person than black beard would be low tier commander level pirate with no ability to effect anything in the world.
I agree that Blackbeard is probably the most likely to get it but I don't like dismissing the Cross Guild for being "just a gag". With the Cross Guild Buggy is not a gag anymore, with the marines getting bounties now this is the organization that has done the most to change the world's structure and Mihawk and Crocodile give it legitimacy too. Speaking of which, Crocodile! One of the characters that have the most relevance when were talking about Pluton. I think Randy's theory that Caribou is working under Crocodile and that he'll be the one to get it is definitely possible.
The cross guild isn't narratively important, the issuing bounties on marines stuff will never be hugely relevant in the series, we won't see Mihawk or Crocodile go after any important marines. It's just something that is happening offscreen. So yeah it is more than fair to dismiss the cross guild, they aren't important enough to possess an ancient weapon
@@Kurodo222 I don’t understand how you make those claims so confidently when all of those could be wrong? And the main reason I say this is because of Mihawk. There needs to be a reason for Zoro to clash with Mihawk that makes sense with the current flow of the story, or else Zoro would have to take a detour for a solo quest or do it in the epilogue. Now that we’re heading for the endgame, Mihawk needs to be involved in some relevant way in the coming war (I used to think Mihawk would go to Shanks’ crew for that to happen but the Cross Guild works just as well). The Cross Guild will most definitely be involved in the future events and it might as well have some relation with Pluton too.

It's fitting regarding his way of acquiring power, just picking up items. His ship has also been characteristically bland, so him "just" riding an Ancient Weapon fits perfectly.
The reason Zunesha is needed to open Wano is because the massive walls that surround the country need to be broken down. Zunesha is one of the only creatures that can do so. But who else could? Someone with the Gura Gura no mi.
And because Franky knows the plans for Pluton, he will be the one that will be able to tell Luffy how to take it down.

I'm more on the camp of the final war being mainly against the World Government, so them having the exiting pluton is a bit more exciting for me, but recent developments do point more towards Black Beard and i can't deny that him having a weapon based on the god of the underworld fits pretty neatly, and overall i agree with you, great theory as always.
Yeap, you've convinced me, Black Beard is getting Pluton, and it when you think about it just fits so well:
-Black Beard has Pluton, a weapon based on the God of the underworld, a realm of destruction and darkness.
-The World Government has Uranus, a weapon based on the tyrannical God of the sky, who rules from above striking down anyone who disobeys.
-Luffy is allied with Poseidon, a weapon based on the God of the seas, the only place in this world were one can find true freedom, something fitting for the king of the Pirates, the king of the seas.
This could maybe point to a three-way war, which i personally hope doesn't happen, i'd rather have both enemies get their respective arcs to fully flesh them out, but there is some cool potential in there.
It could be a marineford type situation world gov vs luffy then Blackbeard comes to interfere.
@@travisealy3512 yeah it could be, and regardless of what it is, a three faction war could be very interesting, but I would prefer each one to get their own Arc. We already had that in Wano in a smaller scale and many plotlines were abandoned in the end because of it, it's too much content for 1 arc, so I'd rather have both Black Beard and the WG to get properly developed than having half and half.
I picture the final war as the world government versus the revolutionary army, and black beard versus the straw hat pirates.

Just to be clear, Uranus didn’t rule over the sky he was the sky itself (uranos is the greek word for sky). He also wasn’t Zeus’ father but his grandfather (Kronos is Zeus’ father).

One final footnote I think is worth mentioning is that, of the ancient weapons, Poseidon seems to be the one best fitted to Luffy.
First of all, its name is Poseidon, the god of the seas and storms, just as Luffy's goal (that we know so far) is to become the pirate king, or in other words, the king of the seas, and is often related to the storms. In fact, Luffy might be the character with the closest thematic ties to the sea itself in the entire series.
Second, unlike (as far as we know) the other ancient weapons, Poseidon is a person, who you must ally with in order to use its power. Luffy's greatest strength is his ability to make allies, and this being the key to his ancient weapon in the final war fits that perfectly.
Third, the ability of Poseidon, to control the sea kings, allows its user to freely cross the calm belts and pass under the red line, allowing them to sail wherever they want in the world, which ties in neatly with Luffy's desire to become the freest person on the sea.
I wonder if maybe Franky's role would be to destroy Pluton since he knows it's ins and outs more than anyone else

Anybody saying: `surely buggy won't get/achieve x' should reread the entire story. Buggy exceeding expectations is pretty much expected now. Especially with Crocodile in his crew, him getting pluton would not be far out of left field.
(Canon spoilers for Red) Hey Morj, I thought of something earlier. If the part about Yassop having advanced observation haki, being able to see hours into the future and it being on at all times, wouldn’t he must likely have know luffy would eat the gumo gumo no fruit? Meaning it was not an accident like the red hair pirates played it off as when luffy ate it, and in fact it was purposely put there for luffy to eat.
Blackbeard is really becoming the best villain in the story and probably my favorite Yonkou. He and his crew are the only villains that I feel terrified of, not because of their strength, but because of their abilities and what they're capable. Blackbeard and his crew may not be the cool and strong haki users, but man the mysteries behind Blackbeard's power is enough to send chills down my spine.
I believe Shanks was in Wano because he knows Pluton in in Wano. He was probably waiting for Momonosuke to open Wano. That would give him the chance to get the weapon. He probably realized Wano was going to stay closed for a while and decided to leave.

Hi Morj, this idea seems very fitting, while i do think Blackbeard does come to Wano to get Pluton, I don't believe he knows about it and wouldn't go for it until Caribou tells him. My theory is that Blackbeard originally comes to Wano to steal Luffy's devil fruit and then getting Pluton once he finds out. Blackbeard said that he didn't want the "World Government" to get their hands on whatever he was going for first, and I was thinking he meant the Nika devil fruit. He may not have known about it at the time he first encountered Luffy, or didn't know where the Strawhats were going Post-Timeskip, but he seemed to make a definitive decision on *something* once he learned they and the Yonkou were all going to be in Wano. Not only does Blackbeard need a 3rd devil fruit, a zoan, to complete his ensemble, but also has to be actively pursuing something major at this moment. Unless the Whole Cake cover story pays off with the Blackbeard pirates, it stands to reason he'd be coming to Wano instead.
I've thought about the tragedy of Act 3 being Luffy getting ambushed on his way out, losing his devil fruit, having Robin kidnapped, while Big Mom and Kaido are unleashed from underneath Wano after Blackbeard destroys the island and takes Pluton. What would follow after is Luffy having to rise from the very bottom to defeat both Kaido and Big Mom with his friends and only conqueror's Haki, no gear fifth. I think this could ultimately culminate in him fighting Blackbeard on Laugh Tale over the One Piece in a showcase of Haki vs Devil Fruits.
He'd have to have enough willpower to not only overcome the three most powerful devil fruits in the world, including his own, but that he could follow in the footsteps of Roger who became Pirate King with Haki alone.
I know after the raid fails theory failed that you've been avoiding that there is still a tragedy in Wano, but it seems like right now would be the opportune time for something to happen. I believe a small part of you still thinks this arc isn't done and even if I'm wrong, I want you to know I will continue supporting you whole heartedly even if nothing comes of it. Black Beard is more likely to Moon God Devil Fruit ability, or him having a Cerberus Devil Fruit for his third most powerful Devil Fruit ability because as White Beard and Roger both pointed out that both Xebec and Black Beard are both fake D Clan members, and they share no genetic lineage to the D Clan at all, so no he isn’t going to steal Luffy’s Devil Fruit, but him or Buggy are likely to steal the Pluton from Wano, and Luffy having Franky build a way better Pluton model than the one that Black Beard wants to steal would show the differences between hard work and integrity versus laziness, thievery, and backstabbing.
This would be cool. Granted, only if stealing someone’s devil fruit is possible without killing them..

BB existence is based on trickeries (he was able to sail on WB ships and steal the darkness fruit, he was able to cut shanks' face even though he was careful, etc.), so I wouldn't be surprised that he will be tricked somehow by him or his crew (don't forget Catarina Devon's Inu Inu no Mi and Shiryu Suke Suke no Mi). @@mel-bp1kp Nope. Shield is undestructible and not like DF's power can be easily beaten anyways, even with Haki you will have to deal with people literally bending their body/remove their body parts to dodge attacks.
I think BB getting Pluton would be very fitting, because he's a villian all about stolen power, so just stealing an ancient weapon vs the SH's making their own through franky would line up well with their philosophies

Blackbeard doesn't have a Main Flagship like Thousand Sunny, he mainly travels on rafts. I think Caribou is definitely talking about Blackbeard when straw hats leave he is gonna come to claim Pluton.

Blackbeard left Fullalead with a goal already in mind, and we know he's the type to make his moves methodically and without wasting energy (minus getting bodied by Magellan). If he was waiting on info from Caribou regarding an ancient weapon, he wouldn't have left so early, and he can't be going for the Poneglyph in Wano either, because Caribou didn't have that info when Blackbeard left. I do think Blackbeard getting Pluton is an actual possibility, just not now off of Caribou's information.
1. I could also imagine that Caribou works for Sir Crocodile and that Crocodile acquires Pluton actually. But Blackbeard seems to make more sense

I truly believe Franky pluton counter has been under our noses the whole time. I think it’s Sunny. Now he didn’t make a copy paste of what was on the blueprint for the sunny. But added key things that pluton had for the sunny. You will get revelation during the last arc.
IMO, either in the end game each faction will have an ancient weapon or the straw hats will have all 3 of them to obtain a certain goal. I do not agree with the franky part, I do believe it would be more interesting if Sunny already had some features of pluton while leaving some of them to the original ship (sunny would be the exploration version of Pluton, using it's weapons in creative ways to make the ship fly, have a subarine and etc). Also, if they get pluton, it WILL be thanks to a straw hat member (Robin) and to the second closest non-Straw hat character to the crew that never joined (Momonosuke, the first being Vivi, of course).
I believe that if frankly builds pluton, it won’t be an entirely new ship, but Thousand sunny upgraded based on the pluton ship. Since pluton is necessary for the destruction of the red line if the theory is true.

Actually I think shanks IS interested in pluton, and this is the reason he was waiting outside of wano, thinking the walls might be destroyed by zunesha and this would be his chance to take it. He obviously didn't have any other reason to be there, otherwise he wouldv'e gone to the island, but when he saw it didn't happen, he decided to leave.
He had a very obvious reason to come to Wano: To stop Kaido and Big Mom from getting Pluton and rescue the alliance if things got too bad. He turned around cause the raid didn't fail.

Second, why would he suddenly come there incase something happens to Luffy? Luffy went through many dangerous things before and shanks couldn't care less, because he knew Luffy would come through and win. The only possible explanation is that Shanks knew that joyboy is supposed to reemerge in wano and because Luffy has that fruit it's gonna happen now and the walls are gonna go down and free pluton. Shanks surely doesn't care about the samurai and minks anyway, so he doesn't have to be there to help the alliance...
I don’t think he was there for pluton. He was really there for luffy just like at marineford he was there. It’s a great theory tho and would really be interesting and could tie into him fighting Blackbeard if they fight for it

Although I agree that it's probably Blackbeard, you can't just eliminate the cross guild on the basis that it's a gag.
1. Because Crocodile's whole storyline was about acquiring pluton (he's certainly not a gag btw) and
2. Even if Buggy is a gag, the impact he has isn't i.e. the reverse bounties!! That's huge for the story and the balance of power in the world!!

During the eruption at the end of the onigashima raid, we saw large cracks shown in the landmass around Wano in the cross sectional map. This makes me think the walls could be vulnerable to the Goro Goro No Mi of Blackbeard
If that is what oda was going for there it wasn’t needed, but I guess it’s a nice detail.
What I mean is if black beard rolled up, and destroyed the walls with his fruit I don’t think anyone would be saying “wait the walls weren’t weakened first, how he do that?” We would all accept it if he just busted it up, because his devil fruit has been told, and shown to us to be capable of destroying an island, and or it’s walls.

Honestly that's what I think happened, but considering the arc moved on from these 2 I don't think they'll be able to unleash it and Big Mom and Kaido in a weakened state will fight and be defeated by Blackbeard to hype him up more, and also this situation gives ground for a God Valley flashback (considering Blackbeard is most likely connected to Rocks)

The problem with franky creating the anti plutom weapon is time. It takes time to make a ship, let alone to find the correct materials. For a ship as a monumental as what franky might be able to create, he would need a months. That does not work with the pacing of the story, unless we get another time skip
