I used to love having the Shootout on a Saturday, Qual on the next day. Then you have Monday-Wednesday practices, Duels Thursday, and then final practice Friday (obviously only the cup schedule listed here). It made it feel grander and more meaningful. Now it is almost like you blink and you miss half of the action.
they don't need the amount of practice they used to have and that also expensive with fule and tires
@@johnhaas2523 fuel and tires is a drop in the bucket compared to what teams spend on so many other aspects. Also, teams do not pay for fuel. Sunoco comps it as the "official" sponsor. Is the old amount of practice necessary? No, especially not with the car count as low as it is now but the amount they get now seems to be disgustingly small.
I've been watching NASCAR for over 30 years (I'll be 40 this year... Oof, it goes by quick kids, trust me) and I didn't even know they were qualifying last night. I used to love watching almost 2 whole weeks of action on SPEED channel. Cup, Xfinity (I still call it the busch series), ARCA, and Goody's Dash Series. Throw in the IROC race, and man, racing bliss.
You have to think that the more compressed schedule isn’t being received well by some of the teams. Less time to set up the cars less time to repair any problems that may arise in practice. If something happens in practice mechanically, you just might miss because of lack of time.
Exactly
I'm glad they banned the skew because the purpose of this new car is to be completely symmetrical and not as aero dependent
Not to mention it looks fing stupid.
@@RowdyGromwwwww Can you not say fucking?
@@eknutzz9513 can you not cuss?
I see a lot of people wanting mechanics to become irrelevant. Very disappointing.
Symmetry and skew are not the same you fucking dumbass. Listening to dipshit “fans” like you is what ruins everything. The bodies are symmetrical regardless of skew, god for it teams find some speed. “It looks stupid” shut the fuck up 😂
I am happy Nascar is doing this. I have always hated the skew.
Same
They have so little customization, seems like what they did to Jeff with T-Rex happened here.
I liked the look of that silver car you showed at beginning. Crab walking and flaring out body panels is part of any type of asphalt racing from street stock and rwd ministocks all the way to super latemodels skew has always been part of racing. When I was 10 in my asphalt ministock when we went to huge half miles we was as skewd to hell same with every other racing class I have run including sprint cars pro latemodel and super latemodel and it helps to reduce friction to keep momentum higher on entry and exit and helps save tires at certain really rough tire chewing tracks where if you wasn't skewd tires would last us 20 laps instead of the full 100 laps
@@youknoweverything7643 Like they have in the modified series a huge wall on top of the car. If they don't like a slight skew, they can get over it.
Is it because it was at daytona practice
I'm not always an advocate for NASCAR decisions, but that 4 car looked stupid. Displeasing enough of a look that it was distracting.
Hahaha omg yes, the way it he moved down into turn 3 was atrocious
Did you see him going around the corner? It looked like he was trying to drive up the banking but couldn’t
They all looked stupid. I’m glad they axed it.
Why do you care?
Thank God, they can't hype up the next gen car by saying it's be symmetrical, only to have the new cars be driving sideways down a straightaway during the first big practice session of the year excluding the LA Coliseum of course.
This loophole reminds me of the 2014 F1 rule changes when teams made obscure finger noses to maximize aeroflow and then had to end that loophole shortly after as it looked ridiculous.
Ah yes, the "finger" noses.
@@BigCheeseIsReal i loved those "fingers"
It was dangerous too if I'm not mistaken
you meant the 🅱️enis car
@@3ormorecharactersmaybe5 Still better looking than the 2014 Lotus fork.
Completely agree about the momentum killing and reduction of building with how the schedule was setup this year. On Saturday night I just instinctively was looking for the Shootout/Clash to be on (as it always has the Saturday before 500 week) when I remembered it already happened. To me the shootout being at Daytona always was a fun preview of the 500 (more so than the Duels where most guys just ride around).
To Be Honest this year was a perfect year for them not to be at Daytona. You cant have Clash guys getting what would essentially more testing. You couldnt have the full field at Daytona because of a big wreck happening.
@NolanEP that’s going to be every year now unless NASCAR pushes back the whole season because the greedy NFL added a week to their season from 2021-2022 going forward.
Reminds me of 1999 when the rear ends were hunkered down to the ground
Ahhh memories!
Those cars reminded me of old worn out pickup trucks with how bad they were offset
Ya, any vehicle with a badly bent frame will display that characteristic
I liked the look of that silver car you showed at beginning. There's still some cars skewed in qualifying, it's just slightly less pronounced. Hemric's was definitely the most skewed and lo and behold, he's got the fastest time so far.
pre race alignment 0.00 to 0.30 was -0.3 to 0.3 for LR
0.00 to 0.30 was -0.3 to 0.0 RR
Had me worried there for a minute. I thought you were going to say that bumping the pace car during cautions had been banned. Inconceivable!
Don’t give them ideas!
8:30 it is simple. If they don't race their way in, they then fall back on their qualifying time. Either that time is good enough or it isn't.
Watching this live from Homestead, as a particular lights team is unloading for testing in the paddock. Hopefully, I get to see the duels tomorrow, at the end of the day. Appreciate the coverage!
Just a note on the Ford deal, it looks like the change was to a common area of the car body.
Not something individual OEM’s get to design.
When I was younger, I dreamed about going to Daytona in February. About 10 days of excitement. Started with qualifying, the Clash and ARCA the first weekend. A couple days of practice before Thursday and the Twins(Duels), Trucks on Friday, Busch(Nationwide) Saturday and the 500 Sunday. Now with everything be condensed takes some of the excitement out of it.
Definitely more difficult to call it "Speedweeks" when they are down to only 6 days at the track.
when the skew happens:
NASCAR: *_NO. we need S Y M M E T R Y ._*
The fact they took a symmetrical car and doctored with it 5 minutes into the first practice session is amazing.
👍🏽👍🏽
Yeah we need to punish anything different!
@@SEVENTEENPOINT1 This would be like F1 teams showing up to the first practice with the new cars and the rear wings were all crazy.
Teams knew better than this. SMH.
@@danielwest9955 Yes, because that is called using what you have. By banning it they take yet another thing the engineers can do.
NASCAR should have had the foresight enough to have regulated this from the start of the season. Mid-season rules changes are a bad idea.
session hasn't started. the clash don't count as it a exhibition race. and rule changes as go going to happen with the new car
Regardless of whatever racing took place before this weekend the race season really doesnt start until the Daytona 500. Everything up until the Daytona race is just show, atleast thats how I feel about it.
Speedweeks have become Speed-days. Think about this. The Chili Bowl has more days of action
Speedweeks is now at new Smyrna!
Jacque Villeneuve has made the Daytona 500!!!!!
Great. Always hated seeing cars going down the track looking sideways
Being a local to Daytona beach, and living right by the track I can tell you for a fact you are not wrong. Having the clash at the LA coliseum really did take away from a lot hype. Normally people are really excited and pumped this week and actually know a race is going one this weekend, but in reality it’s not like that at all. People don’t even realize the race is this weekend.
In Daytona beach maybe😂 but the rest of the world is more hyped than they have been for years and years.
@john h yes it’s sold, but I can tell for a fact, before this week most locals didn’t even remember there was a race coming up. Normally most locals know it happing weeks before bc they hype the shit out here. Not this year. Most place are just now putting out there welcome race fans stuff. Normally that stuff is up for weeks. Not having speed weeks really killed the atmosphere and hype for the race here.

Explanation of open team qualifying:
Top 2 fastest times of the open teams lock in
In the Duel races, if either driver who has locked themselves in finishes as the top open team in their respective duel race, it falls to the next highest time on the chart not already in the race.
The open team that finishes the highest keeps their qualifying position per their finish in their respective duel, while the open team that qualifies on speed will be placed at the rear of the field.
Not super simple, but direct
You're talking about Ford having a drag advantage when Chevy cars had the fastest top speeds?? That sounds contradictory. When Kevin Harvick had the fastest car all year back in 2014 did Nascar do anything? No.
Here at Daytona. Where are you John Haas. Want to get together with you. Need your expert help .
Well said David. Thank You for your insight on the 500. I agree with your angle on the race this year.
I see what you did there.. 😆
It isn’t just devaluing the Daytona 500, it’s eroding its legacy. I have issues with that. I’m a long time NASCAR fan who’s now sixty one years old. Change for the sake of change alone, never fixes anything. NASCAR needs to start listening to its fans a bit more and balance their needs and the drivers needs for a better product, instead of reinventing the wheel.
Dude... I just heard Curt Cavin mention your channel on the latest episode of Trackside on 107.5!!! Saying that you had an image of Will Power's new livery.
Good deal.. the crab walk offset should never have been allowed. It looks ridiculous. Fans don't want to see that shit
It looks like a big crooked butt.
I liked the look of that silver car you showed at beginning. Crab walking and flaring out body panels is part of any type of asphalt racing from street stock and rwd ministocks all the way to super latemodels skew has always been part of racing. And if you don't like it then don't go to your local asphalt circle track. Every rwd oval division skews their cars some more then others. All my cars are skewed since I was 10 in my mustang ministock in 2003 all the way through every division up to latemodels are all skewed to a certain point. It helps to make racing better actually NASCAR should let teams do what ever they want to the bodies at least as long as it fits inside templates other then that then just let them flare out a quarter panel or flare out bottom of front bumper cover allow them to put holes in rear bumper cover so it's not a parachute on the track and if teams find something creative leave it alone that is what makes racing exciting seeing what ppl come up with as long they don't break rules
@DRacing19
Ok Skippy, don't get your shorts in a wad. I know why they like to screw the rear suspension. My point was it looks retarded going down the straights. When it's extreme, it's ridiculous. You should be able to set up the car reasonably competitive without making it look stupid. "10 years old in a mustang" huh?. Guess you have all the answers then.
I remember hearing somewhere--possibly from you, David--that the next gen cars were being built to make crabwalking impossible, or at least very difficult. It's interesting to find that someone managed to do it anyway, but I'm not surprised to hear that NASCAR cracked down on it as soon as they saw it.
It's also kind of interesting that the skew this year is in the opposite direction to the skew I remember from the mid-2000s, when the rear end was always pointed out toward the wall.
that what nascar was hoping/wanting but teams thought differently with shims.
pre race alignment 0.00 to 0.30 was -0.3 to 0.3 for LR
0.00 to 0.30 was -0.3 to 0.0 RR
They were skewed the other way for intermediate tracks to create sideforce. This is the skew for superspeedways

NASCAR announced the,500 is sold out, so I guess the long hype is not necessary. I think NASCAR may be trying to keep the costs down. For everyone. Track, competitors, etc. hey, the Indy 500 used to take a month of practice, quals, etc. times change.
Let all 42 cars compete.
Honestly because of the symmetrical body skewing the cars looks so goofy whitch is a good thing but I feel bad about my favorite driver Kevin Harvick but I kinda think if you leave the car normal it looks fast but when you skew they look really slow
Nascar should've banned this skew "feature" years ago.
Well this skew was created when NASCAR started taking downforce away. The engineers found other ways to regain lost downforce. The Gen 6 had its best intentions but engineers will always find ways to find the limits of the rules. That’s why costs got out of control. R&D spending causes more money to be spent to catch up.
@@satoshiserena4843 wasn't the Gen 6 designed with a flat right side to generate tons of sideforce?
Indycars also run skew. It's just a lot less notable since it's more subtle.
@@polycube868 Yes. The right side was flatter in Gen 6.
But the previous commenter is also correct. until the 550 HP package, NASCAR was lowering the downforce year-by-year.
And it made no difference because teams were just figuring out dark arts to get it back another way.

I caught your video at the start of qualifying and larry mac just went over the crabbing if that is a word.
Thank God NASCAR is doing their job. Sick of these teams doing this crap the cars are supposed to drive straight I am very glad NASCAR actually is doing their job and keeping these cars straight and true to what they were designed as. You wouldn't see it Indy car crab walking down this road like that that was stupid. If you can't drive the car when it's going straight maybe you shouldn't be out there.
I like the general idea of this ban, however, banning it DURING one of the most important weeks of the year instead of giving people a heads-up weeks prior...?
I am shaking my head at the hundreds of thousands of dollars simply wasted, and am curious how many teams will be short on spare body parts now.
You would have thought that something so essential would've been in the rule book for quite some time.
Skewing the car doesn't often take in additional money to do that as it's the same exact car but they made heavy adjustments with a normal car with normal parts.
It’s basically just a suspension setting trick. Not something that’ll cost teams money.
NASCAR made symmetrical cars for a specific reason. Teams showed up with this mess basically defying NASCAR’s intention on literally the first practice session. It had to be stopped immediately.
@@danielwest9955 Fair enough. I thought that it would need extra bodywork components.

Your comments about how the 500 is being 'anti-hyped.' SPOT ON!!
I miss the "WINSTON CUP" days of racing. They were exciting.
Solution: build figure-8 tracks. Nice big banked turns on either end, overpass in the middle. Since there's both a left turn and a right turn, they can't skew the cars.
I dropped all interest in NASCAR many years ago when it became a show instead of a race. On occasion, I'll stop by sites like yours just for a laugh. And I haven't even mentioned stage racing.
it would be cool to see ford come out & dominate for a few years like chevrolet used to do 🤣 a bunch of GM fans would be upset buddy 🤷🏼♂️🤟🏻
What I think would be great for the daytona 500 is to essentially bring back the a massive build up for speed weeks. This all assumes chartered teams are not locked in right away. First weekend is the clash on a temporary short oval made from the daytona tri oval and pit lane (like a very large legends track) and use the garage area for the pit area. Then Monday is a day to get the short track stuff put away and teams to get the super speedway cars in the garage. Tuesday is trackwalk and a short shake down session for the super speedway. Wednesday and Thursday are cup practice. Friday durring the day is arca practice Friday night is front row qualifying. Saturday is the dual races. Two 50 green flag lap races to lock in the field. Dual 1 sets the outside line, dual 2 sets the inside line. Sunday morning is arca qualifying, Sunday night is arca night in america. Monday is an off day for everyone. Tuesday opens with xfinity and truck practice. Wednesday is truck qualifying and cup practice. Thursday is xfinity practice, cup practice, and xfinity qualifying at night. Friday night is a short final practice for cup and then we go trucking. Saturday night is the xfinity race, and Sunday at noon is the daytona 500.
not going to happen. teams don't need all that time and it expensive to spend all that time in Daytona. it's going to be speed week from now on starting last year
Nothing wrong about being passionate about Daytona 500/Event.
I knew I wasn't freaking crazy 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What is the sound clip called used at the ending of your videos?
Peeney Weenie song.
david, im pretty sure qualifying ONLY locks up the front row. so Bowman and Larson are set at 1 & 2. as for everyone else, qualifying determines which duel they are in and where they will start for it. odd numbers from qualifying race in duel 1 for the odd spots, and even numbers from qualifying race in duel 2 for the even spots.
Can't wait for qualifying
When bending the rules becomes literal.
I worry about how these cars are going to handle when somebody gets directly behind. Wouldn't that stall the air out on the diffuser? If so that's just going to send the car spinning once we get to a downforce dependent track.
Mate this technology’s been around for decades now, that isn’t an issue.
@@DL-nn1ws That's true, but oval racing is a form of racing where diffusers have never been run. When you combine the speed that they're running, how close they can run to each other, and the large frontal area of these stock cars when compared to other forms of racing I just worry that it can become an issue. I hope I'm wrong and it doesn't become an issue though.
@@TankSlappr You’re most likely wrong, don’t worry about it. And anyway, in testing the drivers were spinning on their own fairly often, so it may be more with the handling than the diffuser
David (or John Haas, etc,) do you know when & how Nascar is doing inspections this year. I looked on line & found nothing. Like others have said, I thought the bodies were supposed to be symmetric & the rear axle square to the body, so I was surprised to see that in practice. Was there an inspection before practice, or just before qual? What things are they checking for? Or not checking that they used to?
I believe Sunday morning is pre race inspection but could be wrong. if you've got Twitter ask Bob
Just a tiny note....the anti-skew is strictly to cut drag, there's no downforce consideration for it at all. Cars naturally yaw out in the corners, exposing the right side of the spoiler, which adds drag, the anti-skew reduces the drag produced in this situation. The practice has been going on since the days of the COT to varying amount (some just as egregious as the 4 and 43), but the effect with the Nextgen is happening through a combination of the first tech limits (only allowing rear toe to the left) and rear bump-steer, a product of the new suspension.
How dare they ban the left rear tyre! (judging by the thumbnail)
What's with the Logano Hate?
It was part of the new car formula, that "Crabbing" would not be allowed. It's nothing new though. If you haven't noticed this at Daytona/Dega for the last 25+ years you haven't been paying much attention.
If you don’t go for a gap that exists your not a race car driver -Ayrton Senna
Remember when you could park/camp in the infield and watch the Rolex 24 then catch Busch/cup practice and qualifying then drive home and watch it on tv? Ya that’s what speed weeks was all about
Hey! Qualifying is going on right now, why am I watching a David Land video? Priorities, man, priorities...
Is "skewed" a term that NASCAR is using or is that what you've coined the term describing the wheel alignment issue? Just curious.
They’re just scewing around :)
as soon as i saw it i knew it wouldnt be allowed
More rules, more official calls, more fans leave. NASCRAP is hell bent on driving the fans that made them away.
Around here we call it dog tailing. I thought skewing was no big deal in NASCAR? Haven’t they been doing that for ever on the ovals.
I had no idea until right now Jacques was doing the 500?! What🤣?
Get this man to 100k!!!!!
I said the following in the live Reddit chat for practice on Tuesday:
"I thought there were VERY strict rules on body symmetry with the Next Gen Car? I foresee NASCAR clamping down on this new generation of Twisted Sisters before Thursday."
I do hope someone picks up that phone.
BECAUSE I FUCKING CALLED IT.
Well still front engine rear drive. Transaxle in the rear. Kinda like a '63 Tempest?
Not sure why Pontiac went back to solid rear axle in '64. Probably cheaper.
More likely needed new tooling to make a trans axel to handle a 421 super duty.
Know why the Corvair was limited to 140 CU in. ( 2.3 L for those that can't figure how much that is). I tried real hard to break a 4 speed Corvair transaxle.
Note that it takes 5 liters or 302 cu inches to break one. 4.6 liters is OK. Oh and one other thing. That is with the engine where the back seat used to be. Took over 50 years for a Corvette that keep up with it. That Corvair was not a good 1/4 miler> 1st gear could not handle full throttle. But 125 MPH was possible. Could do 190 average speed on the track at MIS.
But that took a experienced race driver to turn it.
But never understood why it took so long for GM to make a transaxle mid engine Corvette. I guess was it takes a while get used to it. It is that much different.
I know why they don't run FWD. I feller in a FWD found out why I was not going faster. I could feel the lack of traction.
I was inside a LSC.
He did not feel it. Ended up parked on top of 6 feet of snow.
After he passed me. Steering traction is kinda important.
Your just right at the fore front arnt ya! Rear steer, yaw, skew. Lol. Neat new shit.
I agree with your take on the Daytona 500. The 500 just doesn't feel the same since they changed the Clash and shortened speed weeks. I thought the road course was fun last year and the clash this year was fun but the Daytona 500 is loosing some prestige at the expense of "growth" imo.
The only racing we’re you race Friday night Saturday and Sunday and your done is NHRA drag racing
How do they skew the cars in the first place? Do they adjust something on the suspension?
Haven't watched this video yet but in the days of templates they skewed the body and twisted it while.still fitting the templates. Now I imagine that this is coming from the adjustment in the rear suspension.
Yep. Look up Bozi Tatarevic on Twitter. He’s got a breakdown.
Looks like they changed the angle the wheels hit with the rear suspension, so it yawed out when it hit the track.
I think it’s a shim that they put between the body and chassis to get it to flare out to one side
Rear toe adjustment, nothing to do with body mounts, but it does effect the body, there still will be skewed cars just won’t be as excessive
I'm glad somebody asked because the video doesn't explain it. I'm confused about them banning this kind of asymmetry in a series that relies on an asymmetric car setup to be able to go around the turns of an oval.
This Crab walking, dog tracking is nothing new. We used to be able to mount the older steel bodies already in Yaw on the chassis. The opposite for downforce. Remember the banana shaped cars. This is just a new era and they want the cars looking stock. Nascar also does not want one manufacturer walking away with the show. Thank you for your time and dedication creating content for the sport! Good luck to you!
Making the qualifications sound way more complicated than it actually is...fastest 2 cars on speed locked n, first car to finish n each 125...if locked n and first across line falls back to qualifications speed not 125 finish to determine who gets n
it's not the 125s it's the dual 150s
I'm so glad they banned Harvick rule lol skewing gone
So much complex qualifying for a race where you can sit at the back until near the end of the race
They used 2 look like the old 80s Nova at 1 time helps in the corner with more throttle time
What's the company supplying the Nascar parts? Delarus?
Where at in indy do you call home?
I wish they would do a Daytona Road Course again. Clash or an actual points race. I really enjoyed watching the Cup and Xfinity races the past couple of seasons at the road course. The LA Clash was still a great event by Nascar however would like to see the clash back at Daytona.
the Daytona road course is kind of like a backup track
We enjoyed the Clash on the Daytona Road course last year. Bring it back. This year’s was just a gimmick that did not work well on tv.
I thought that was already banned for the Next Gen car.
tbh if it's within the rules and again people can read the fine print that's great for them. I hate to see the skew as well but here we go again, let's change the rules as we go.
I know its a new car and all but this car was suppose to run last year.

Merge the Rolex 24 and Speedweek together and have the Daytona 500 on the off-week of the Superbowl. The 18 week NFL schedule has adversely affected Speedweek and NASCAR needs to adapt.
NASCAR wants to condense the on-track activity of speed week instead of qualifying on Sunday and no on track activity for several days
All the talk about ford being fast
Hendrick chevys were 1 2 3 and 5 in qualifying
After NASCAR made ‘adjustments’
The 500 being fully sold out doesn’t seem like there’s no hype around it. If anything the Clash made me more excited to see the next gen cars in another race.
This is one of those things that bothered me for years
NASCAR can’t seem to get out of their own way most of the time. I’ve never understood why they skew the cars like that. So what if it helps down force in the turns. If everyone does it, then it’s not an advantage! It’s just a bunch of goofy, crooked race cars. Moving the clash to LA felt like a weak attempt to gain favor from celebrities that couldn’t give two shits about racing! Especially NASCAR racing! The race in LA was a joke! As far as the new car goes, I like the fact that they have modernize the car a bit, but they are too slow on super speedways. They’re so slow that they can damn near go around mile and a half ovals flat out! They have virtually removed handling from the equation! I remember when the cars would reach 200 mph + entering corners and have to slow to 160 or so through corners at charlotte! That definitely separates the fast cars from the slow ones. And there my friends is where the problem with viewership lies. This type of race will eventually spread the field and eliminate pack racing and thus make the casual fan board. For the actual racing fan this is just fine because we understand racing and we’re not board. That’s why the more NASCAR tries to keep the attention of these bandwagon fans, they loose the attention of actual racing fans (aka “the fan base”). NASCAR needs to stop trying to impress these non-fans and celebrities and stick to what made them popular. Racing!
engineers do it for a reason it especially with the older cars made speed as getting the one side of the car out of the wind. engineers have a reason behind everything
@@johnhaas2523 I know why they do it, but as I said if they all do it then it doesn’t matter. They all should just leave the cars as they were.
I agree, with You, that NASCAR's meddling with the Daytona 500 and Speedweeks scheduling definitely is taking away from it's Attraction and Tradition as well.
They have not only done this with the 500, they took the July race at Daytona and moved it!! For generations 4th of July weekends had the 400, just as the 500, Tradition takes a backseat.
Indy Car would never change the format and Tradition of their Super Bowl,
Daytona 500, is supposed to be their biggest, most watched race, NASCAR's Super Bowl, and by "shortening" the speed weeks process, I believe, they take away the opportunity to put up their best product. The racing itself can only suffer from less practice, less time honing set up for the cars, and ultimately that could result in less exciting racing resulting in less interest.
Just sayin
I think NASCAR is shortening everything because of the parts shortages imo, less time for cars to get torn up and less mileage on the cars. The 500 is sold out so, I do not know if momentum has been lost but, I just that the weather does not act dumb and decide to ruin everything
shortening speed weeks into speed week about on track activity every day from Tuesday Sunday as had been for several years before last that nothing happened Monday or Tuesday and than eventually practice for the clash was gone.
just so you know.... in aerodynamic terms that's called "yaw" or "yawing" and sometimes called crabbing... (i.e. "crabbing to right or left" BUT Not Skew....
7:30 This comment aged like fine wine. You nailed it.
NASCAR is clamping down on a lot of sneaky tricks that NASCAR teams pulled in the past.
I'm 65 years old and have been a nascar fan for years and years, but not so much anymore, don't get me wrong, I'm all about safety. But it seems like it's loosing fans and I think that the new car's may have a lot to do with it, I don't like the new tire and wheel combination, I think that is not safe at all. I also don't like the air dam under the car, that and the wheel and tire combination is un safe, we all seen the way te wheel would come a part if a tire went down and if you lost a tire the car would have to be pushed back onto the track because it was setting on the frame. And the aero program is bad! You see that the hood flaps were blowing open every time a car was getting to someone's bumper, not touching it, but getting close. This is negative airflow. We have it on jets all the time but it rarely causes a problem. However I can see we it could cause a car to lose all of it's down force on the front and cause the car to get loose quickly. We even saw a hood flap brake on a car, because it opened so violently. I can't remember the driver. I'm just getting tired of nascar I guess, but at least I said my two cents worth!
I noticed guys blocking the window nets with their hands.
Nascar shoulda known that reared skew would be the first infraction teams would try
