I love your reviews!! Thank you for talking about the genetics of Queen Charlotte's children. I'm biracial and my husband is white. We have two children. One is white, blonde hair, blue eyes. And one is light brown, black hair, brown eyes. Genetics!!
Audience might not sense Princess Augusta motherly love to George in earlier episodes, but no one can’t say they’re not moved by the end of the series especially her conversation with Lady Danbury (wow that’s a powerful scene), same with the relationship between QC and her children l, the underline of this series to me is about motherhood, in each of their own circumstances. Both India and Corey delivered on their craft brilliantly.
16:30 I didn't think the s3x scenes with the Danburys was supposed to be a joke. I thought it was highlighting how few rights women/wives had back then. They weren't given a choice and they were expected to perform their duties. It highlights that Lady Danbury never enjoyed s3x while she was married. Showing her marriage to Lord Danbury explains why Lady Danbury never remarried and wanted to remain independent, like we see in the regular Bridgerton series. But they also give us hope that she wasn't necessarily lonely or unloved.
Lol I honestly feel like when shonda writes these romance couples stories she absolutely knows what she’s doing…making us feel “alone” and she doesn’t care I feel like she’s literally saying “sorrows sorrows prayers” lol while we’re just crying over them😂
I totally love India and Cory. Both are brilliant on their own right. But together they take it to another level. Best Bridgerton couple BY FAR. They depict the innocence and discovery of 1st love so perfectly. And I agree with your points about Lord Danbury. I feel like the story would have been better if they hadn't make him into a caricature. He could be a total asshole/misogynist/etc and still look like a distinguished older black man instead of making him into a bufoon. It would have made their relationship less of a joke and more believable. And YES. I did notice that Agatha was the only black lady in waiting, which I thought was odd. But I get that they wanted us to feel like both Lady Danbury and Queen Charlotte were isolated. And that brought them together.
If i was Lady Danbury, Queen Charlotte woulda seen me daily "hey girl, the stylist said she cant fit me in today...could you make that happen? Thanks sis!"
@@MiattaLebile I think the point they tried to make is that Last D. didn't "abuse" her relationship with the queen to get her way. But in with you, idda been like 🙋🏾♀️ "you can make this happen, right?!" 😁
19:51 Everything about her is beautiful. Her skin is flawless; she is mesmerizing. I think I had to rewind a couple times because I was just entranced and I missed the dialogue.
Girl you are funny as hell!! I LOVE YOUR RECAPS! " He looks like he died 5 years ago!!" When you said that about Lord Danbury, I nearly fell off my bed!! Can't wait for you to recap the rest of this amazing series!
I don't know why they did this. I know he was going to die, but he didn't have to look like it already happened. It's kind of like there was no blood coursing beneath the skin.
Maybe it wasnt executed well because they made QC seem like a terrible mother but the hunt for an heir was true to life. They litterally had 12 grown children with no legitimate children. And then the only granddaughter died, leaving no heirs. It was a crisis. They were afraid of losing the monarchy if succession was not secured.
In a recent interview Shonda basically confirmed they will do a spin off season covering Violet's story. So maybe the storylines of the other characters will be woven into hers.
I am obsessed with the cast interviews for this series.... never cared for bridgerton cast interviews And yes i agree with you as it relates to George mother.. she performed well in the roll
It's about 8 miles from Buckingham House (now Palace) to Kew Palace. Travel by carriage was typically 8 miles per hour and sometimes 11 miles an hour, depending on terrain, according to Google. Kew Palace is now the Royal Botanic Gardens.
MIATTA, giiiiiiiiiiiirl you are brilliant!!! Amazing review as always - funny, intelligent, outspoken. I can also say that I love this couple so much, the chemistry is literally fire and every time they are in a scene together they give us a spectacle of fireworks. I hope Shonda don’t let us down and give us more of them. Honestly the best Bridgerton related season so far!!! P.S. Miatta’s husband your woman is a gem!!! ❤
When your reviews come out, I know it’s time to binge the series. Thank you Lady Danberry for pulling out the Segg’s visuals! Also thank you Queen Charlotte for speaking up and saying, no I don’t want my head banging that hard headboard. We also need a line of Queen Charlotte’s robes, they were to cute.
Best Couple in Bridgerton period! HAhaha girl, I had so much fun with this reaction! "Fuck you, Corey!" SENT ME sgjsdgf because like same! Sir, who gave you the right to bite your lip like that and be that fine xD But also omgg SMALLVILLE shoutout?!! Smallville Clark and Lois raised me!!
Love everything about the show too, and yes, I have watched every single cast interview, soundbite, tik tok, reel, and yes , I stan and ship them. Phenomenal phenomenal talents ❤. Lady Danbury is one of my favorite characters, and yes, Arsema is stunning! ( as are you, I might add) ;but her storyline is true to that era which makes her arc even more subversive and powerful. Her floundering is human ;success is a series of wins and fails, and she totally won at the end so a plus from me. India is a revelation. I feel so protective of her and really hope her career is shepherded carefully.
I definitely caught when he called himself a troll and he knows she said early on that she said she did not want to marry a beast or troll. So it was important lines that linked back to their first acquaintance
There was a scene where Brimsley and Reynolds passed by each other as servants (older) without speaking, and I'm just as glad it was cut. It was only in the script. I would like a Brimsley and Reynolds spinoff limited series like this to tell their story.
11:08 actually this is loosely based on history so the no grand baby thing is actually the most accurate part of the show. Bc they really did have 15 kids and the only heir that came from it was queen victoria. Not crazy complex or super interesting but entirely accurate and I love Goulda’s interactions regarding that, she’s so funny. Ps I hope I spelled her name right
There is something endlessly charming and entertaining about you. When I found this show was coming out, I couldn't wait to hear your commentary. I have to ask, have you read the novel Julia and Shonda wrote to accompany the series? I would love to hear your possible thoughts on it.
Your reviews are amazing! You embody the level of fangirl unhinged enthusiasm for female driven media that I have but don’t share lol. This was awesome and hilarious!
Miatta!!! Gurl I have SUBSCRIBED to you but I didn't get no damn notification. I am so frikking mad. I Loved your Bridgerton Reviews and was waiting for QC. I WAS WAITING FOR YOUR QC REVIEWS. BUT NO. NO DAMN NOTIFICATIONS. WTF! Anyhoo Now I get to binge. But Check and see if others are seeing your notifications. This Youtoob algorithm be messing up all of us.
I definitely hated the storyline of queen Charlotte wanting grandkids. But I think there were less scenes with George to kind of show her devotion to him…? Like despite not being able to actually be with him she will always be devoted to him. I feel like nothing about young Charlotte suggests she would be a bad mother but i could see her kids falling to the wayside the worst George got.
Very few royal mothers would be considered good mothers by today's standards. Marriages were arranged for political alliance, your job was to have children, and if you were lucky you grew to love your husband. Plenty of miserable royal marriages.
Lady Danbury's little boy hardly knew her (or her husband, but that was probably lucky) because the kids spent most of their time with the nanny, for that matter.
10:50 yes 100%. My aunt is white and her first two kids’ dad is fully black but her third baby had a mixed dad so Zendaya looks almost unrelated to her brothers. That’s the only reason I didn’t side eye… though I don’t see how the one son is blond with blue eyes, that’s where I think people were getting upset
Lol @iMaps I've got an android too. I'm "Brit- ish" (born & raised in London UK) and all our modern map apps can't tell us the average travel time by horse and carriage, there's probably a way to work it out but I cba 😂
I know what you mean about the heir.... but it should be more important bc the blood line will cease and that is what his own mother was fighting for. I do understand what you mean though. ❤
Brilliant catch on the back drop of Charlotte & George first sexual encounter. Crackling fire, no music, breathing. Sounds like director ideas; have you delved into that at all?? I must pay closer attention pn re-watch. Harping on grandchildren so much doesn't seem necessary. The heir, George 4th, had two or three brothers. If he died the next brother would become king, which is what eventually happened. Charlotte was not "present" as a mother as her husband was her focus and required all of her energy. And then there were royal duties as their son wasn't appointed regent until his father's later years.
I dont considere the marital sex for Lady D to be rape. She wouldnt have considered it rape. Its still gross because he's gross and it was an unfortunate reality for many women of the time.
That's how I see it too. By our current standards, it is marital rape (especially if she expresses disinterest & he insists). But by any standards from 1950s and beyond (and judging by her reaction post act), it is her being a dutyful wife. 🤮
Fully agree with your comment. Lady Danbury Plotline was gross. She was raped by her husband and then groomed and dumped by Ledger. I absolutely hate what they did to Agatha
The storyline of QC wanting grandchildren, for me, ties into Charlotte's love for George. She doesn't want George to be forgotten in history or to be known only for his illness. She wants his legacy to live on in a grandchild. Her love for him is so great that she wants him to live on in their grandchildren. Charlotte wants to be able to tell him while he's alive that he has a grandchild. Perhaps the way they wrote it wasn't very interesting. I wasn't invested in the C's children much at all, but I did like how it all got tied together later.
My nieces and nephew are biracial. My older niece passes for white and looks like her mom. Her twin brother is in-between. He looks either Italian in the winter or slightly darker in the summer. Then their younger sister is much darker like her dad. I hate the micro-aggressions and racism she's already experiencing.
Android! I’m appalled 😂. The thing that kills me about the show is the black women are “strong black” wives but terrible mothers and violet over there playing with grand babies on the floor. 🤨 WHY!
I prefer straight white close teeth in a smile. But when they are too "perfect", it looks fake as hell, so it's not as attractive than a natural smile with slight imperfections. Corey's teeth are just fine. Hollywood needs to calm down.

I had to google the distance between Buckingham House (Palace) and Kew is about 7 and a half miles. Between an hour and an hour a half by coach.
16:30 I didn't think the s3x scenes with the Danburys was supposed to be a joke. I thought it was highlighting how few rights women/wives had back then. Why did look up how long it takes to get to Kew from Buckingham House. Its a distance of 6 miles but by carriage thats 2.5 to 3 hours away. 😂
I'm so impressed with India as well! I cannot wait to see what she does next.
I totally love India and Cory. Both are brilliant on their own right. But together they take it to another level. Best Bridgerton couple BY FAR. They probably could have done better at conveying that. Cause the whole granddaughter dying at the beginning was treated like a joke.
In a recent interview Shonda basically confirmed they will do a spin off season covering Violet's story. So maybe the storylines of the other characters will be woven into hers.

Exactly like come on here genetics is a crazy thing.

The last time I cared about a cast was teen wolf so I totally relate
Lady Danbury’s husband looks like a vampire.
TF are you talking about??!?? You are STUNNING!!!!
She's delulu. Hollyweird, and its casting process probably did a number on her.
My cousins look white and mama white daddy black
