I really wish the Media would listen to the lawyers who keep bringing up "willful blindness". They keep trying to correct the talking heads when they assert the Committee MUST prove Trump knew he lost but did it anyway...NO they don't. Courts know you can't "read" a person's mind but you can say..."This person should have known better because everyone around them was telling them the truth and they ignored it." Willful blindness goes hand in hand with gross negligence. So all they have to prove is that enough well-informed people told him the truth; whether or not he himself believed it. Enough that a reasonable person should have been able to correct themselves and avoid illegality. Because our laws are written for reasonable people. If you aren't reasonable we have a defense for that as well it is called pleading insanity. Thus you are no longer held to the standard of a "reasonable" person. So if he wants to avoid most if not all legal liability Trump always has the option to plead insanity. On that count, I doubt many would disagree.

Maybe that's why I wasn't impressed with the first hearing. Although the testimony was riveting, I've been following all of the evidence for a long time, so nothing surprises me any more. I doubt if the "people in the background" (if you are referring to Trump supporters) will ever change their minds. I'm surprised that Fox is showing this, but I hope they also will show the first 90 minutes when the Capitol Police officer talked about "slipping in blood" and watching fellow officers on the ground throwing up after being sprayed with bear spray.

They did, Michigan has a centralized vote counting system so votes from various precincts were being transported from where they were cast to the central counting center to be counted. Simple logistics. DOJ investigated and sent their report to Barr.

I know defending our country is very important, but no one wants to miss the birth of his child to testify in a hearing. It's too bad that he wasn't there in person, however. In any case, any Americans who still believe that the election was stolen is so delusional that nothing they hear or see will matter to them.
I was impressed by how gracious the committee was toward him. He was to be the so-called star witness, so it does seem coincidental that he might not have wanted to testify and then his wife goes into labour. But even the stress of the hearing could have triggered labour, so it was good that the committee was 100% polite. Taking the high ground is the right thing, eh?
