    Hey man, I’ve been doing music at college, I’ve been doing more production stuff this past year, and during the lockdown I thought I’d learn how to do stuff properly, and your videos have helped me learn massively. Thank you

    Very nice tutorial Adam, thanks for all the effort and great work as always. I’m a psytrance producer using Logic, not too many of my friends using Logic so I am always happy with good tutorials coming from your hand. Whatever style of music you like, knowing your DAW is the most important.
    I’m a follower of your work since a long time. Please keep up the good stuff!

      Appreciate you enjoying the videos and for sticking around for a long time. Knowing your daw is the best thing you can do as a producer

    1:50 not a logic user but I'm 100% sure that the white bars in the piano grid means that it is part of the scale chosen in the program, in this case Cmaj, you can see it on the top. The gray ones means notes not included in the scale

  • @eternalglow6483
    @eternalglow6483 4 роки тому +6

    Using the transposer midi plugin is way faster and easier. When you pick a scale the plugin makes it impossible to play a wrong note so even if you have little piano experience you can play piano solos that make you sound like Beethoven

    • @imamusicmogul
      @imamusicmogul  4 роки тому +1

      This is very true. Only problem is it does not record the proper notes. So with transposed off then it won’t play what you intended. But there is a workaround for that. Will post a video on that. Good looking out

    • @eternalglow6483
      @eternalglow6483 4 роки тому

      imamusicmogul There’s a free plugin called “midi fx freeze” that will take the wrong notes you played and make them correct. Or you can also just copy and paste the transposer plugin to all the other channels to make them in the correct scale

    Great video like always. A tutorial on drum patterns in general maybe for different genres would be dope.

      Scale quantize and use the brush tool bro it’s quicker

    • @imamusicmogul
      @imamusicmogul  4 роки тому

      I wish the same thing. Logic should expand the scale quantize feature to not only quantize notes but also quantize the piano roll and only show the notes within the keys

    Why do you need the muted notes that you hide off the midi region?

    • @imamusicmogul
      @imamusicmogul  4 роки тому

      I just mute it so it’s out of the way and it ever the region gets dragged out they won’t play. But technically speaking since it’s out of the midi range they will not play

  • @Chris-do6zj
    @Chris-do6zj 4 роки тому +13

    Just pick a scale then use the brush tool, you’re over complicating it 🤓🤣🤣🤣

    • @imamusicmogul
      @imamusicmogul  4 роки тому +2

      You could do that but you can’t paint in same lane up and down so you would need to move them up and down. But yes painting them in is faster. That’s why I made the scale pack to quick drag in the midi

    You should do a tutorial on how to get rid of that whistle sound. I hate that frequency that you got from those. I spend hours trying to get rid of that frequency. Yuck! I hate it. Good vid. Cool tho

      Which whistle sound you taking about?

    • @NIPSZ
      @NIPSZ 4 роки тому

      @@imamusicmogul It is inside the sound. It appears after you throw the two plugins on... I find that whistle frequency in about 25% of sounds. It is hard to eliminate. It is in the middle of the spectrum, I have noticed. Do you hear it? Anybody else?
