Why not, indeed. I subscribed after I watched the first video I found and I'm so happy I did! I love everything about you Louise. Best UA-cam watercolor channel!
Nice Doo. And very beautiful painting as usual. Enjoyed the tutorial and as you talked through it. Someone comment it is comforting and may I add soothing to hear your voice. I look forward to your paintings takes me away from the craziness of the world. For that I do Thank You.
Louise, I have been watching your videos for a while now. I thank you for posting them.. they have lifted my spirit's and made me lift my brush again. Such helpful hints and tips... I can't wait to see the weekly ones... Thankyou for your time and sharing your experiences.!
Louise you are a bright spot in my day when I see you have put out a new video! Your voice alone is so comforting. Your lessons are so easy to follow. Thank you my sweet sister ;)
You are truly a Gem my Louise ! I so look forward to your tutorials every week . Such a delight & i get to learn & have a smile in the end . Thank you very much for everything you do Doll .
All your videos are so helpful and your work is beautiful. Would love a video about highlights, lifting techniques, and all the "eradicator" brushes you use. And possibly any highlight technique that didn't work for you. Thank you.
I recently found a 9x12 extra-heavy weight watercolour board. It's 100% Rag that's lightly textured. I forgot I had it. Will have to give it a try. And exactly if you have subscribed to Louise's channel why haven't you?
Every time I look at your paintings, I admire your patience. You really have a very peaceful state of mind. When I paint, I always hope to get inspiration in a fast and easy way. I am happy but also easy to fail. Thank you Your share! 👍!
Louise, I always look forward to your tutorials. Love that you let us know the the good and the bad about products you're working with. Of course, I look forward to the outtakes, as well....you give me a giggle. By, the way, your hair looks wonderful...you've added some length and a little curl. Perfect for your face shape. Stay well....Love the sweet budgie.
Absolutely love your hair! Love the budgie. This bird is so versatile to paint as it comes in so many colors here in the USA. What fun it would be to paint a entire color collection of them. Thank you for another lovely painting. You make it look easy even when it’s challenging for you.
That looks EXACTLY like the Bungie I had growing up, he was called Pickles. I can't wait for your full tutorial. I would love to give it a go as a gift for my mom. Thank you so much! 💗🐦
I found a couple of pictures awhile back of this very bird. One of the many things I hope to paint some day. I'll try yours first, of course, then tackle the ones I've been saving using your method. Learning soooo much from you. And, I agree. If you haven't subscribes yet, why haven't you?
Thanks Louise, that was brilliant. I love that you talk through the bits of your paintings that give you an issue. I sometimes get stuck on an area and fuss with it, to my eternal detriment 😆 I so look forward to your new videos each week. Oh and your hair style is absolutely adorable.
Once I watch one of your videos my fingers just itch to start something. But I need to create an area where I can leave my work out without having to clear after each painting session. Indeed, if you watch Louise and you haven't subscribed, why not? She's just so very good to watch and learn from. Just wish I could do the patreon sessions.
Just to be clear, I was laughing at your out-take at the end. 🙈 so funny. Great budgie! The tip of creating the softer line on the head then, later, going over it carefully again, will help me.
So beautifully described...... amazing 👌🙌.The most important thing I learn from you is your peacefulness n patience. Now I am precticeing regularly. Thanks a lot.
I love to watch your vídeos every week, they are well strutured. But at the end part i always have a smille... Thanks for sharing your cknoledge! Hugs🇵🇹
This is fantastic, thank you! I’ve been wanting to paint my budgie. In the meantime, my cockatiel enjoyed this video, but kept tapping on the next video, then the next, then the next. I think he was jealous of the budgie.
Louise, I am surprised that you cannot get Arches WC Board. I am in the UK and we have it here. Both 640gsm (300lb) and 850gsm (400lb), I have both and love them.
Great video, Louise, and you look especially pretty today! I look forward to trying the budgie, and since purple is my favorite color, and I've seen lavender budgies, I might try to find a good photo of one to work from! re: the comment about 100% rag paper, is that a synonym for 100% cotton?, or are there going to be other (less desirable) components?...love the bloopers as always!...
I always love your backgrounds. What made you do the swipe of yellow and green in this painting in the way you did? I wouldn't have thought of it but it works. Plus your new hairstyle looks really good. .
Beautiful painting!!! I love the colors and decor of your studio, so soft and relaxing. Can this board be framed in a normal frame or is it too thick? Thank you.
I noticed that you use a lot of Da Vinci Maestro brushes. I purchased a few small ones to try them out and like the quality. I am ready to invest in a few large ones. Can you suggest shapes and sizes that you feel essential to watercolor painting. Another beautiful painting, I love your style.
Nubie here. You have to stretch watercolor paper? I just tear off a sheet and paint on it. I am fascinated with how you did the head feathers. That I think was to coolest thing ever. Thank you for sharing ♥♥♥
Love your vids Louise, especially the bloopers :-) I recently tried a bamboo watercolour paper I found in my local artshop for my paintings. It suits my painting style which is more detail oriented and less wet on wet, and it gave them a pretty antique storybook quality because it's not pure white, but I do know there are pure white versions out there. Have you used bamboo paper before, if so what are your thoughts?
Love your tutorials Louise! I’m a patreon member and am painting better than I ever dreamed possible! Question - I understand 300lb paper doesn’t need to be stretched, so why the need for a board paper? Just trying to figure out all the types of paper available. Thank you.
Thank you Sherie! I have found that if I work really wet on the 300lb paper it will get a bow in it like a piece of timber bows. I'm thinking I might have to start buying it again though. It will probably be ok if I tape it down really well and if I want to work quite wet I'll stretch it first.
Why not, indeed. I subscribed after I watched the first video I found and I'm so happy I did! I love everything about you Louise. Best UA-cam watercolor channel!
Sooooooooo beautiful! Thank you for another amazing video!

I'm so glad. Thanks so much Lynn. I have painted a few orchids. They are an elegant and beautiful flower.

Thank you so much Beverley! 😘
All your videos are so helpful and your work is beautiful. Would love a video about highlights, lifting techniques, and all the "eradicator" brushes you use. And possibly any highlight technique that didn't work for you. Thank you.

Glad it was helpful! Thank you Kimberley. The hair was an .......'I can't be bothered drying it this week'......style 😝😘.

Bright as usual dear Louise.... . Easy to learn & nicer your voice..... I follow you from Costa Rica 🇨🇷 in Central América 🌎.
Wonderful! Thank you Maria.
Oh that's lovely, thank you. Nice to know about the board. I really wish they still made the Arches watercolor board. Wonder why they stopped... 🤔
So beautifully described...... amazing 👌🙌.The most important thing I learn from you is your peacefulness n patience. Now I am precticeing regularly. Thanks a lot.

Thanks so much Miren. 💜 😊

Another great video I’m going to attempt this one Louise 👍🏻 btw I love the out takes at the end of your videos 😂
Wow

Thank you Omar.
Louise, I am surprised that you cannot get Arches WC Board. I am in the UK and we have it here. Both 640gsm (300lb) and 850gsm (400lb), I have both and love them.
Maybe UK has the last of it? Good to know. Maybe Jackson’s has it online and will send to USA? I would love to try it.
Thanks Sarah - I think we spoke on Facebook. The watercolour board is over 1200gsm. I think I'll start buying the 640 and 850. 💚
Thank you Lydia. Yes......100% rag is the same as 100% cotton. 💕
Thank you.
Thank you!! Yes, absolutely Renee. I've just picked up some from the framer this week. I used Arches watercolour board for them.
Looking forward to this tutorial. I have 5 budgies and want to paint them. Hard to get them to pose for me. They are hyper little birds!
They sure are. They're rarely still. Thanks Patti.
I have learned so much from you. Thank you. Can you tell me where I can get gator board to stretch the watercolor paper. I live in Idaho, USA
Have you done an orchid? I bet it will be fabulous! I grow them and have many beautiful pictures you would love.
I noticed that you use a lot of Da Vinci Maestro brushes. I purchased a few small ones to try them out and like the quality. I am ready to invest in a few large ones. Can you suggest shapes and sizes that you feel essential to watercolor painting. Another beautiful painting, I love your style.
Thank you Karen. I started out with a #2, #5 and #8. Now I think I have all of the sizes up to an #8. They get really expensive as they get larger.
Nubie here. You have to stretch watercolor paper? I just tear off a sheet and paint on it. I am fascinated with how you did the head feathers. That I think was to coolest thing ever. Thank you for sharing ♥♥♥
Thank you! I have a paper stretching video here on UA-cam. ua-cam.com/video/eGi9HkEijtU/v-deo.html
Louise De Masi oh thank you very much. I’m attempting a giraffe. Still working on perfecting the lines for the giraffe.

Have you done a lovebird before? Or just Australian birds?
Love your tutorials Louise! I’m a patreon member and am painting better than I ever dreamed possible! Question - I understand 300lb paper doesn’t need to be stretched, so why the need for a board paper? Just trying to figure out all the types of paper available. Thank you.
