Putting humanism first certainly helps; regardless of the job. If there's one thing I'd like to see taught in law schools, is the difference between Legal Law, Moral Law and the Universal Law of cause and effect. For what my tuppence, or ten cents, is worth, legal and moral law, which vary from place to place, as well as in the context of time and cuture, are like sieves - you can get away with stuff, especially if you have a skilled lawyer; but only to a point. Legal and moral law are man-made. Universal Law, is inescapable, bedrock like, neither judge nor jury get away with one iota. Every though, word, and deed is beholden to this reality. The 'trick', for want of a better word, is to live true to this and create maximum value; in your own unique way and unique circumstances. As Gandhi susinctly put it, 'You become what you think you will become'. A cynic/realist, would say, "A 'good' lawyer, barrister, politician, salesperson etc., will try and convince you that, black is white and white is black". Indeed. See truth form falsehood in people and the written word.
