Chojubai Japanese Flowering Quince 5 young trees repot into bonsai pots

These 5 little Chojubai are so slow growing that I decided I will pot them into bonsai pots and just enjoy them as they are. Some have already started to flower with their tiny red flowers.

I’ve been wanting a chojubai for some time. Every time I find one it’s crazy expensive. Ones like you have go for around $300-$500

i wish i could get that money for mine!!! they are extremely slow growing and hence i believe the hefty price tag.

I’ve been trying to acquire a few different colors in the US but they’re hard to find and super expensive if you do. Also they’re usually local landscape cultivars that grow faster but have big leaves

Yes there is a larger version which I also have and it goes by a slightly different name. Japonica something.

These came from a nursery about 2-3 years ago and he told me he took cuttings.
