Congrats to you both on a successful move. My wife and I made a similar decision, we needed more space and california was just getting too expensive. So God opened the door for us to move to northern GA and we love it!
It took me 20 years to move out of Miami but I have never looked back. I love the food there but once you move you finally feel like you are actually living in the USA. 😊. Definitely much better jobs, salaries, traffic, home pricing etc…
Ive been living in different areas of Miami Beach for the past 10 years and I want to move ASAP!!!!! I can’t wait. I’m looking forward to going more north and out of this traffic and all the people. I can’t stand it anymore 😮💨 I’m working 30 blocks from my house and yesterday my husband went to pick me up and it took us 2 hours to get home. TWO HOURS. It’s a hard no for me
@ oh I know that. I’ve been here for 10+ years 😂😂 thanks for the advice. I’m moving soon up north because I foresee that there will be a lot of new construction around my area (Normandy Isles) and it will get worse with more cars and people living here.
@ it gets very crowded when there’s special events like Art Basel or Boat shows. It’s not always like that but yes traffic has gotten worse and worse with time.
Marbella, Spain, is the place to be. Amazing weather all year, beaches, mountains, luxury, old world charm, food, cheap (compared to most places), but you still get the high-end places (Nobu, Cipriani, Coya, etc), and you're also near hundreds of worthwhile locations to visit, not to mention having ferry access to Morocco etc. Rent a penthouse with amazing sea views, and you're golden. I'm a real-estate agent in Marbella, so I can provide recommendations, if needed.
Congratulations and looking forward to following your journey! I am 48 and getting ready to leave my corporate job next year after 23 years working in finance. I am lucky to work remote now and will spend this winter in West Palm Beach, FL, which I am happy to hear you are thinking of. It's great there! I also own a home in Cape Cod, MA which is beautiful in the summer and fall. I personally love the snowbird lifestyle. If you are able to eventually live somewhere on the east coast like the Hamptons or Cape Cod you can experience the magical summers and falls here and Florida is great in the winter. Good weather allows you to be physically active outside all the time and the sun does wonders for mental health. When you are young, you do have to be geographically where the top industries are like Boston, NYC or DC, but hopefully you can become more entreprenurial eventually and be location independent. Best of luck and very happy for you both!!
Lived in Miami Beach for over 24 years, before the boom of brickell and the other “trendy” and the rest of the wannabe places. Traffic sucks, there are a few decent restaurants, the kitchens alllll look the same in all the Apartments unless you go extremely high end or boutique. Brickell is mainly for instagram or for ppl just to say “ Yeah I live in brickell, “ kinda like tacky new money you know? So that’s awesome you guys got out ❤ best of luck up north !
Left back in 2001, and I never regretted it. I had to go last year for a family wedding and I felt like I couldn't breathe. Overcrowded, horrible traffic and mean people.
I agree that the Plaza Apartments have an exceptional view. Paramount as well I saw on Sonja Arline page too. Best of luck to you both. Thanks for sharing.
We wish you all the best for your move. It’s definitely the right decision. We were recently in Miami and checked out Brickell because we saw it through you. Best regards from Germany, Kristina & Heiko
Miami is too expensive, overrated and doesn't have the best job market. Thats mostly all Florida though. Im really gearing up to leave myself. Good luck on your new adventure!
@@itsnicewithyou I have no idea yet but I think eventually I will head to the North East. I will start a family soon so I also want my kids to have the best education and Florida colleges are ok but don't rank above any of the Northeast or California schools.
Love it - "Winter" in Northern Va, really isn't winter.........!!! you have become pasteurized in Miami!!! In Miami, they wear winter coats in 60-degree weather!!!! Good luck in your new surroundings
Hi from Orlando, FL I am new to your channel. I miss South Florida (Hollywood) the food, the people, beach, my friends. I’ve been in Orlando since 2009 and cannot wait to leave I HATE it. Also the pay here is ridiculous for healthcare workers. Fingers crossed 🤞🤞 I’ll be able to move next year.
NEW SUB: Will be interesting to see in a few months how you "reflect" back on Miami lifestyle, cost and living... Would make a great video down the road... I know Northern Virginia well... A bit "Lefty," or too "George Looney" for my tastes but that didn't prove to pose too much of a problem now did it 😊... Wish you guys the best !
I love visiting Brickell. My godparents live in Dumfries, VA. I love visiting the Northern VA/DC area too. Have y'all thought about San Diego or Phoenix?
Hey, old man advice basically simple you work for your retirement that's what a lot of young people don't understand you need to save as much money as you can and for your retirement pension that's why being up in the New England area retirement pensions with companies are a lot better than they are in Florida and good luck to you smart move getting out of Florida it's dying here and that's from Floridian
I was just about to say that looks like where I live in the Loudoun Ashburn area. Funny you guys move here and Im trying to move where you left bit yeah I was seeing how expensive it was in Miami and Northern VA you can have a lot more space
Congrats and best of luck to you both! I lived in Miami for one year and this was back in 2011 and honestly although I love it there, I can’t live there; the traffic itself is a big NO for me but as you mentioned the job market, I’m in a complete different field than you are, I’m in education, if I were to move there I would have to be willing to take a 35K+ pay cut which I am not willing to do so I’ll continue to live in expensive NJ and visit Miami whenever I can! 😊
All of the companies are around DC, because they need to be close to lobbying politicians. haha Followed you guys for the Miami content, but y'all seem like such genuine folk. Congrats so much on the move!
I lived in Orlando for 3 years then had to move to Miami for work and I kind of hate it here. The traffic is so bad that I never want to go anywhere, no one knows how to drive here, and whoever designed the road system had to have been on crack because none of it makes sense. I can’t wait to get out of here. I love FL but the traffic and over population has ruined so much of it.
I love DC much better than Miami! Visited DC twice. Lived also in Virginia Beach for a few months and loved it too. I’ve been to Miami Edgewater/Brickell/Miami Springs and Miami Beach (South/North/Sunny Isles) for about a month now and thinking to leave already. It’s gotten worse than 5 yrs ago, since I visited same areas last time. I also stayed in Dallas on my way here and liked it actually better: Much nicer people, better food and service, better economy and cost of everything. DC & Dallas shits on Miami. It’s way overhyped. The city is beautiful and has good weather but very fake and rude people. Economy really has no substance besides the hospitality and New Yorkers driving up prices.
The huge pro with Miami and South Florida in general is the amazing weather and lifestyle in the winter. I've lived on the east coast most of my life and the weather in DC, Boston and NYC from January through April is absolutely miserable as in you literally want to die. It gets dark at 4pm, it's zero degrees beyond freezing outside and rains/snows most days. No leaves on the trees. It's dark, dismal, freezing and miserable. You literally feel like you're living in a horror movie for 4 months.
@Pat7629 I feel you. I lived in Russia for the first half of my life and it’s even worse: colder and from October till the end of April-May. But I visited DC once in November and the second time mid January. It was nicer than Russia lol. NYC on the other hand, that I visited right after that DC’s first trip in mid November , was really miserable though. Very cold bone chilling. I have to agree on Miami’s lifestyle in the winter it is nice.
20sec in.. seeing the building under construction… yeah, I know why yall moving 🤣 that exact building just got a 21M$ home owner assessment. Thank God you rented that place.
Miami is for the rich, no doubt. Brickell is not where real Miami residence live, it's quite newly constructed and only people who don't really know Miami live there. Most people live in the center of Miami where its is full of greenery and two story houses not apartments.
@@lunallena5594 Do your research it's readily available on the internet, type houses in Miami. Miami was never a high rise apartment type of place, until recently in some areas, other areas high rise is prohibited.
DC proper but not a majority of the surrounding suburbs. Median home prices can be high not everyday cost of living like groceries, going out to eat, etc.
Why are you two thinking about job opportunities, if you have this channel grow it up and have your own business.. Working for large companies is no fun, the young like you two slave away only to realize that they wasted their life with these companies that don't give a sh*t about you..
Probably what happened is that they found out that they where going to be paying alot more on the new lease and they couldn't afford it anymore. Looked around and couldn't find anything and decided to leave. Or he lost his job.
