I'm 85kg, 62 y.o., long time surfer, 1st surf today in 2 ft, got 6'0" Hyfi, 40.8L, 1st wave I knew it was good, fast, loose, great paddler, perfect choice for me, believe the review, he is bang on....soooo goood!!!!!
Just bought one of these was on sale at a surf shop a deal I couldn’t pass up. Took it out on a day that most people wouldn’t surf and I had a blast. For San Diego this board surfed awesome in the slow mushy surf.
I’m 105kg+, bought a 6’6 hyfi and threw the MF 2*1’s in it (H4style). This thing is so exciting - any bit of push in the wave and it will whip around so fast and drivey forehand - super fast vertical backhand reos. This board excites me so much - does everything from knee high to overhead. So stoked - thanks JS 🙏👍🏼
Can't wait to check this out. I'm riding a raging bull 6.2 at 35.6litres and love it in decent waves. I'm 86kg. What size Sub Xero would u recommend for 0 to 3 foot rubbish surf?
I can actually answer my own question now....as arsey chances would have it I was at my local surf shop only minutes after a fresh box of xeros and subs arrived. I picked up a 5.9 at 35.3 litres...and have had 3 surfs on it now. It paddles great and is a super fast board. The squirt this has is incredible. I am running the Fcs 2 firewire carbon tri quad fins. They seem like a good versatile option. I've only used it as a thruster so far and I think the firewire fin shape like this is good. Big side fins and a slightly reduced tail fin. This board is a great and different compliment to the raging bull. Very happy with this 2 board set up.

How does this compare to the Black baron as the shape looks very similar , but this looks to have a bit more volume ?
