Nice haul. I'm one month into my return to scale modelling after a 40+ years hiatus. Making lots of mistakes and having loads of fun. Started off with some sets from Wingsy Kits. Best of luck.
I love it when I get models in the mail ... (only way to get them in Fairbanks , Alaska) ... like a birthday and Christmas combined , even if I know what's in the box !
Thanks for watching, and hello to Fairbanks Alaska. I must admit opening them and adding them to my ever expanding stash is rather a pleasant feeling. I think my intention is to construct a "play fort" out of the boxes LOL.
Welcome back to the hobby mate. Its truly the best hobby out there! The tamiya kits you hauled will fall together nicely. Looking forward to seeing your builds.
Thanks so far I've really enjoyed spending a load of cash on a collection that was intended to motivate me, currently It's doing the opposite and is starting to intimidate me PMSL. I'm going to start my builds with my stash of 33 1/72 Spitfires, I need to learn a few techniques, especially with painting before i start tackling the 1/35's.
hello there @michaelgriffith381 and thanks for watching. Now the mossie is one of my favourites and how i still havent built that is a bit of a personal mystery.
Hello again @kitswithkaren5003, thanks was one of my first BIG hauls, i am going to hazard a guess that none of them of been built yet but plenty of time LOL.
Nice stash welljell ,mix of old Tamiya and new ,got some of those kits myself. Trip to Bovington to scope out the real items👍👍. Regarding midlife crisis eat ,drink 🍸 and make merry because tomorrow we die 😂😂.
Hi Andy. Well what can I say. Your hitting this hobby hard. Thats a huge haul and a large sum of money. You must have a big house or a lot of ambition.Anyway, the cheap Panther ausf D is the old kit from the early seventies. If you look in the lower hull tub you will holes for a motor. These kits were originally motorised. Its a bit of a dinosaur but if you use it as a testbed for practicing some techniques then it is ideal. You will need something to practice your zimmerit on. I did that on this very kit. Painting. A tip That I can give you is to use rattle cans for your base colour painting. Halfords do some really good primer colours in large cans. They cost less than a tenner and are a lot cheaper than the Tamiya paints. You might want to take a break from spending and start some building. The Panzer 2 is a good little kit with plenty of build location options. The Tamiya aircraft kits are of very good quality and you can't go wrong with them, even though they are expensive. Hey listen buddy, enjoy the hobby. There's so much to it,but do remember the amout of time it takes to make these kits. Also as you get better you will notice they will take longer to build, you become more involved in them. Good luck pal, I will keep watching your progress.
Hello again Brian, thanks for watching, This channel has "midlife crisis" in the title for a reason LOL. This haul is slightly embarrassingly only a part of my stash, which i call my "inspiration for improvement collection" LOL the rationale behind this is that i will always have an interesting option to build whatever the weather, if it takes 20 years to get through then so be it the investment in models has already been made, if at some point i decide i have had enough, i can Ebay the collection and i have an almost instant supply of funds for a new hobby. Also how many "whats in the box" videos can i produce from this lot? The Pz 5's and 4's (3 of each) i thought would make an interesting comparison series of the "whys" are these models so vastly different in price £12 to £40 roughly. I have a range of rattle cans and airbrush primer colours that i intend to use on the 12 speed build spitfires (the dirty dozen) that i have completed and will be painting over the next week or so. There is a method to my madness regarding my interpretation of novice modelling and Youtubing, which is still very much a work in progress jumble of ideas, that i hope you and others will continue to find interesting if perhaps rather bizarre over the coming months. Oh PMSL the spending has pretty much ceased for now, this weeks net spend is £10 on a viewer recommendation for a Dewoitine D520. Thanks for your support be seeing you Andy
@NoviceModelling Ha you like me then, back to the hobby after, many years 36 years for me,yes and it's quite easy to get a good stash ,I also have done that, look forward to see your builds.
Ive watched a few of his voids and yes the Panzer II was one, strangely I modelled for about a month 20 years ago when i was made redundant, buiolt the Pz II, still have it, thought it will make for an interesting comparison when i make it again, probs in a month or so.
Oh couple of pound saving tips - look out for isopropyl alcohol (99% proof) which will make a great substitute for the tamiya acrylic thinner. Hardware stores or office supplies should have it in stock And looking at your stash, you'll need lots of glue. Consider using tamiya airbrush cleaner as opposed to their thin cement. Its near enough the same product that costs less and you get more of it!
Thanks for watching and for the advice, I'm pretty well stocked up on glue and other supplies now but i'll certainly bear this in mind when stocks run low.
@@kevinkerlin5603 Hello there and thanks for watching, have since seen a couple of YT vids showing a variety of different things you can use instead of the branded products, well i know for next time LOL.
Thanks for watching, one of the symptoms of a mid life crisis is "irrational and unnecessary spending practices". I think that's cobblers, these are life essentials LOL
Anything with tracks that require assembly looks pretty daunting to me at the moment, I have plenty of easier stuff to practice on though. thanks for watching.
I am going to start this weekend with a load of cheap and cheerful 1/72 Spitfires, as i want to try and get to grips with painting techniques, before i start on the 1/35's.
Hello there @mm3vko and thanks for watching, seems that this is a pretty standard thing that most manufacturers do i have a few Tamiya - Italeri and vice versa re-boxes.
thanks @mm3vko so i am kinda your therapy LOL? will be starting my "BIG PROJECT", at the end of the month, hopefully it is a "sensible?" way via thematic builds and viewer engagement that will allow me to rationalise my rather excessive kit mountain LOL. BTW my therapist quit on me last week. said "my plan to build a small hut out of kit boxes that i could sit in, was beyond her capabilities to assit." PMSL
Hello again Dennis, It was a high value purchase, I think i did pretty good for the invoice total though. Most of it has gone in to my "Inspiration for Improvement" stash, for future builds when i am happier with my skill set.
Nice haul. I'm one month into my return to scale modelling after a 40+ years hiatus. Making lots of mistakes and having loads of fun. Started off with some sets from Wingsy Kits. Best of luck.
Thanks ' I'm going to start with some easy stuff, i have 30 odd 1/72 Spitfires to brush up on my painting skills with. Good luck with your builds.

Hi, welcome back to our hobby. You will be pleased to know that that German tanker figures come with decals as medals.Mike of Bristol

Nice amount of kits there Andy. Only just seen this video. Especially the armoured German Tank sets, vehicles and the rank, file military personnel.
Hello again Dean, Thanks, i think its obvious what my aim is.......... I want to build a small hut out of model boxes!!
Good haul,I have some of them,1/35 scale is the most popular scale.
Thanks, my study looks like a model shop. I need to stop buying and start building. Tomorrow will be my first construction day in 20 years.
@NoviceModelling Ha you like me then, back to the hobby after, many years 36 years for me,yes and it's quite easy to get a good stash ,I also have done that, look forward to see your builds.
Champion Scale Modelling had a great beginners' series in which he built e.g. the old Tamiya Panzer II you bought as well.

6:36 The Demag D7, gun and figures are actually former 1970s ESCI kits, which Italeri took over. The half-track is a pain to build.
Anything with tracks that require assembly looks pretty daunting to me at the moment, I have plenty of easier stuff to practice on though. thanks for watching.
@@TheNoviceModeller Then I would recommend the older Tamiya kits with rubber tracks. Easy assembly, not very detailed.

For best paints use enamels! 😊😉
Build for yourself, it's rule #1! 😊🍻
When you buy a tamiya warbird kit it is usually made by someone else I.e italeri

I’ve broke the bank many a times placing orders. Ammo, Spruebrothers and Super-Model from Germany were on the receiving end

The "saw" is a MG42", still in use today😂!
Thanks @BigAndTall666 I just couldn't retrieve it from the old memory bank.
