    See the entire roster of those that have successfully completed the LRSU 1000, 1200, 1500 and 1 Mile Milk Jug Challenge on our website at
    www.longrangeshootersofutah.co...
    Official MJC Rules:
    There are two ways to achieve the Official LRSu Milk Jug Challenge.
    - Attend a live event
    - Submit your own video for review and approval by LRSU.
    Rules for each are outlined below.
    General Rules:
    1 - Distance must be verified by laser range finder, GPS or google earth and found to be clearly farther than the distance for the challenge that is being attempted.
    2 - Each shooter has a maximum of 10 shots within 10 minutes. ABSOLUTELY NO SIGHTERS are allowed. 10 shots in 10 minutes is very generous in most cases.
    3 - Shooters may attempt the challenge up to 3 times in a 24 hours period but must rest a minimum of 30 minutes between each attempt.
    **Live Event Rules
    1.Attempts must be officiated by an LRSU official designated by Long Range Shooters of Utah, LLC.
    2. Live attempts must be witnessed by 3 individuals (LRSU official included.)
    3. Shooter has a maximum of 10 minutes to take their 10 shots. Time begins when the shooters name is called.
    4. Upon confirmation by the official a successful shooter is presented with their LRSU Milk Jug Challenge Decal and is interviewed about their rifle, ammo, optics and experience shooting the challenge. Video of each successful shooter's attempt is posted to the LRSU UA-cam Channel and the Milk Jug Challenge Roster (web address below.)
    Milk Jug Challenge Rosters can be found here:
    www.longrangeshootersofutah.co...
    5. Separate challenges exist for 1000 yards, 1200 yards, 1500 yards and 1 Mile.
    **Submitted Videos
    Shooters that are unable to attend an official event in person have the option of submitting a properly filmed and formatted video to LRSU for review and potential approval.
    (Updated Rules as of February 2016)
    1. Video must follow the same format as LRSU videos.
    This includes:
    - Visual confirmation of the distance from the shooter to the target. ie zooming in and out, driving to the target on camera.
    - Visual confirmation that all rules of the challenge were followed. ie no sighter shots, a clean target, etc.
    - Shooter's interview discussing the make, model and components of his rifle, optics, ammo, how many shots it took, weather conditions and their experience shooting the challenge. (Please do not share specific load data)
    - A camera showing the shooter and one showing the target is highly preferred and will greatly increase your likelihood of being approved. (This doesn't have to be a target cam per se as we'd like to see the distance as the camera zooms in and out.)
    2. Completed video should be send as a link or compressed file to info@longrangeshootersofutah.com or longrangeshootersofutah.com
    3. Please include in writing the name, address and phone number of the shooter. Location of the range via google map link or coordinance. Rifles, optics and ammo specs. How many shots it took to complete the challenge.

    • @rdsii64
      @rdsii64 7 років тому +15

      Underrated yes, but its been around far to long to be misunderstood. The 308 has killed everything from the talaban to grizzly bears. While there are bullets with higher BC's, ole reliable can still get it done.

    • @carl-ok9gn
      @carl-ok9gn 7 років тому +4

      it is not underrated or misunderstood. it's just not used to it's potential because of the modern cartridges. and btw. the 308 as a whole is lousy for long range but the new bullets such as the warne change that a little.

    • @G19Jeeper
      @G19Jeeper 6 років тому +1

      i can take just about any caliber and with the right bullet, load, rifle, optic and shooter, make a hit that far. It wasnt the round itself that made it happen. with his dope, that bullet dropped about 95 meters from line of bore. Hardly what i would call underrated.

      I just recently bought one too, and yes they are that nice. I use to be a die hard Remington 700 fan, but you can buy the HMR for about the same price or less than you can the Remington 700 in a Magpul Hunter stock. It has more features a smoother action and a better trigger. The HMR for the money is pretty hard to beat.

    • @G19Jeeper
      @G19Jeeper 6 років тому +1

      .308 is definitely no slouch, but there are far better and ballistically superior options now. Number cant lie. Id love to know how many mils he had dialed into his scope.

    • @G19Jeeper
      @G19Jeeper 6 років тому +3

      Nevermind, he stated in the video, 29 mils plus 60 moa base(appx 20 mil base) so call it 59 mils elevation for math sake. 1609 meters in a mile. 1 mil at 1000 meters is 100 centimeters so 160 cm at 1 mile. Now multiply 160 centimeters times 59 mils and you get 9440 centimeters or 94.4 meters. That bullet dropped 94.4 meters from line of bore. I dare you to compare that to the 6.5 Creedmoor, .260 Remington, 6x47 Lapua or another 6.5 or 7mm short action caliber and see how the numbers compare. yeah, that .30 cal got there but it dropped like a stone in between.

    • @user-cl2ls7kz7o
      @user-cl2ls7kz7o 4 роки тому +1

      ontarioknivesNS7.
      Yup like a sore pecker. Hard to beat!
      Why would you want to do it even with a creedmoor. I’d choose a 243 win than that.
      Everyone knows the drop difference. The deal is the bullet still got there as accurately as a creedmoor and honestly probably with more momentum.
      Ooh! and tumbling like a 223 so that it creates a bigger wound cavity. Doesn’t matter if it was with a 45-70. If it’s accurate it’s accurate. This just shows how butt hurt 308 haters get when people prove that 308 is just as accurate as the next round.

    Agerage flight time at 5 seconds? Don't .308 travel at 2400 ft./sec.? That seems strange that the bullet would slow exponentially over that distance. Obviously it begins to slow right out of the barrel but it just seems alot. Id like to try to calculate that rate of speed drop and repost. Nice going btw. Hell of a shot

    • @LongRangeShootersofUtah
      @LongRangeShootersofUtah  7 років тому +2

      Stabilization isn't so much a factor of being either Stablized or Not but rather degress of stabilization. It certainly has lost some stabilization at that distance being that I'd been transonic or subsonic for at least a couple hundred yards but the design of that bullet is so forgiving that it loses that stability less dramatically than more aggressive bullets. At least that's my hypothesis based on conversations i've had with extreme long range shooters that spend the majority of their time beyond transonic.

    Curious to how many MIL’s or minutes of adjustment were needed for this hit?

      I’m not sure what he had dialed but I just ran the numbers with factory 168 gr match and it’s roughly 100 moa.

      + 60 moa rail. This just proves it doesn’t matter how much “drop” around has if it’s accurate it’s accurate. If a shooter is good. And If it were a 45 acp round shooting 1/4 moa and enough elevation it’s going to hit.

    I’m not trying to discredit this, but I’m pretty sure he’s shooting a 6.5 creed not .308. The 308 comes in 20” I have one that barrel looks like a 22” that the 6.5 come in. If it is the 308 then hell yeah. I just got the 308. Either way great shooting and cheers from Utah

      It is a 22 inch and it is a 308. You are correct that there are only a very few Bergara 308 models that come in barrels greater than 20 inch(to my consternation). The B14 Hunter, in 308(Model B14S101) is one of them. BTW, I own the B14 Hunter in 308. Just bought it last week and went to the range yesterday to shoot it. Awesome gun.

    great shot. Would you mind doing a video on proper positioning while seated? The only range I can shoot 100+ yards requires me to sit at a stool and I'm not too sure if my position is proper

      I'll see what I can do. Do you follow us on Instagram or Facebook? It would be quicker and easier to post something there than here on UA-cam.
