For 48hrs I believed and accepted I lost ALL my passwords that were stored on my phone. One of them was for my Linux machine. I came across your video and your teaching is simple and clear and I was very fortunate to have found you. Dude if you have any future tips to improve our linux machines i.e. speed them up or whatever helps please make more videos. NEW SUB!😃
Hadn’t used my spare Mint drive in a while, this video is exactly what I needed.
For anyone using a Lenovo machine, if holding shift on reboot isn’t getting you into GRUB, hit Ctrl+alt+del on the mint logo during startup, and that should take you to GRUB. Took me a bit to figure it out.
is it left Ctrl+Alt or right?
I've found it's the same on a Mac machine
As a non native speaker I gotta tell you . It's amazing, save my time.

@SysDrive Hey. It worked so far and I'm at the "root@(none):/#" stage but this is where all my keyboards stop working. I can not type anything. I tried different keyboards and it gives me USB driver output when I connect and disconnect a keyboard and there are no errors but I can not type anything. Do you know why that is?
u saved my project god bless u
It worked, Thanks 👍
Great to hear!
Thank you so much Sir. It works

saved me man thanks !

I've tried using both shift keys and nothing happens. I can access a ASRock UEFI menu using F2 F11 and DEL, which has options for booting the system but it doesn't seem to be the same as the GRUB menu. Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm a noob at this stuff
i used single shift
Thank you it worked
Work thanks
Thnks u so much bro
Thank you bro
I have a question mine when i type the passwd command it tells me [options] a, all d,delete e,expire
Thank you so much
Thanks... It worked..
Very useful
Works perfectly 😊😊
I can't get into the GRUB Menu, because I have only an USB connected keyboard. Is there any other way to get into GRUB?
I get locked in when Linux is booting and after that I can use the keyboard, because I guess the USB driver is loaded.
I can't update the system or download new software, because I forgot my password.
And the keyboard, how I said, works only when linx mint is already running.
My thing has quiet apparmor=1 instead of quiet splash, what do I do?
Thank you!!
Thank you Bro😘
Thanks 😊
Thanks a lot 🙏
You're welcome!
Thanks!
Thankyou so much
I recovered my password
Now can this method set a pin number for the password or not?
Love you bro
Very helpful except I couldn’t access grub menu with shift for me it was ctrl + alt + del when the mint logo appears
Thank you sir
i'm running debian 11 and it asks me to add an 'option' (something like this --> -[letter]) but i don't know what one do i choose ;-;
Thanks man
I tried everything still can't get to the menu showed in the video
Thanks❤️❤️❤️
anyone know why keyboard work work after bin/bash ?
Thank You
Its workings Tnq
Thankyou
When I press shift as it is booting up, it just loads normally into the login section.
using Linux mint 19.3 and does not work just keeps booting back into Linux?
One thing to note when changing your password (at least for me) is type your username all in lowercases.
I knew my username started with a capital letter, but it kept telling me that my user account didn't exist for some reason.
I fixed it by putting in all lowercase and then it finally prompted me to enter a new password.
Hello from New York City! Does this work to recover toot user password? Thank you.
Merge perfect.mulțumesc !
Wish this worked for me cause I can't enter the grub menu shift does not work. For me I'm on linux mint 19 cinnamon I just get the linux logo then straight to the desktop so I can do this but everything I try asks for a admin or account password and I don't know them :(
I didn't have (none) there and also I have to restart my pc completely after I change the password with F8 and then had to select ubuntu on the menu and then I only ended up on this reboot screen again, where I pressed enter. Then I hit the new password and my pc just turns blackscreen for a few seconds and then I have to retype the password again...
oh dear, when I press shift while booting up I get a blank screen forever, releasing shift boot up continues to the password screen so still cannot get in 😕
❤شكرا لقد تم بنجاح تغير الباسورد
doesnt work on my sys :( I have no line that says / boot
Omfg THANK YOU.
Thank you...You Da Man!...I tried several of these and this one worked. I did have to remove "$vt_handoff" from the prompt where the "rw init...was to be placed. Thanks again.
😀
Thnks for this video
It work but when I type passwd username he open options and I dont no what to type
I somehow can’t access GRUB… I can’t remember the super user password nor the root password :(
wow thank you
