🌟 A Heartfelt Journey to Tahiti! 🌊
We are thrilled to share an incredible adventure featuring our talented BMX riders, Matuanui and Matatini, who have earned their place as New Zealand's NZ1 team members! Matua and Mata who are NZ1 national champions of Newzealand, had this wonderful opportunity to return to their other home.
They were recently invited to travel to the stunning paradise of Tahiti to train and compete with the Tahiti BMX Federation. This trip has provided them with invaluable experience on the track and opened their eyes to the vibrant French and Māori cultures that share similar roots to our beloved Māori heritage here in New Zealand.
After spending a long time away from Tahiti, this journey allowed both boys to reconnect with their Tahitian family, embracing the beautiful blend of Māori and French cultures. Reuniting with the Drollet Lecaill family was especially meaningful, as they forged deeper connections that resonate with their identity as half Tahitian and half New Zealander. This reconnection was a powerful reminder of their rich heritage, reinforcing the importance of family ties even when living far from home.
The beauty of Tahiti, with its breathtaking landscapes and welcoming spirit, has truly captivated the boys' hearts. As they immersed themselves in the local customs and traditions, they discovered profound connections that remind us of the rich tapestry of our own cultural history.
