Love this car Peter, it sounds amazing. When i was driving my bus near Bath the other week a F-Type R coupe whizzed past me(a metallic orangy coloured one) and as he hit the go pedal it actually made me jump out of my skin it was so loud so god only knows how much louder the SVR is!!!!!. I'll keep my eyes out for one as there are a few rich people around the Bath area with some awesome cars so i doubt if it will be long before i spot a SVR. Great video as always thanks.
Another excellent review of F-Type. I prefer the 3.0 V6 S you drove, it's the one I'd take home. It's more than enough power for daily use, I prefer the howling sound of the engine and not forgetting the wonderful red and black leather interior it had.
Love the reviews, Just taken possession of a F-Type V6 380bhp 2015 convertible Stratus Grey with a black rag Top and i absolutely love it . this is a once in a life time journey for me ive taken early retirement to drive throu europe on a 8 week trip from north of france, all the way down to Sicily via east coast then after a short stay and ferry back then drive up the west coast and head into spain for a family get together, then up the west coast of France heading home and hopefully still have the Jag and my Licence in tact. Once again thanks for the Amazing Rewiews. Cheers
Thanks Andy. All possible thanks to you. Just sorry for saying Hargroves (my bike shop !) not Harwoods in the close...a brain fart from me, sorry !!!! I would love to get something from the Aston side of the garage or an R Jag of some description 😎
I'll have another chat with James for you. I've got a used R AWD convertible you could try or how about abut more sensible a all new XF 3.0 v6 d 300ps and 700nm of torque.
I got lucky with your review. The three cars you mentioned are the exact 3 cars I am choosing between, Porsche 911 Turbo S and the Audi R8 V10. Thanks so much for your review.

It was just too powerful to resist and couple of seconds on the throttle away from losing one's licence! I can only imagine how crazy fast this car is to drive!
Hi Henry. It is crazy fast but the four wheel drive system makes it very usable and that amazing noise can be accessed at normal speeds. You can makes some amazing pops and bangs just driving through towns ! That said...you need to be careful or you will be saying goodbye to that licence :-)

I went as far as going on the Jaguar configurator and pricing one up. Looks better without the spoiler but I could get used to it. Anyway, I've watched about 20 SVR review vids and this was the best one by far, so keep the excellent review vids coming please!
Fantastic review . I share the same opinion re: 911. Porsche PDK is second to none , highly efficient and does what it is engineered for (go fast ) . But it has no soul. F type is just naughty and looks are second only to new Vantage. Got an F Type coupe and every drive is an occasion (literally - folks taking pictures on the highway etc )

Another fantastic review but having owned a 3.0ltr R (a brilliant car for the money) I found that after a while you can get fed up with the exhaust note (a bit to American Drag Car sounding) a little bit "Fake" hence now in an Aston Vantage V12 which sounds amazing (a bit deeper but more realistic). Keep up the excellent reviews great to watch a Genuine guy who talks a lot of sense not some idiot 20yr old just in it for the money!
Hi There again ! I'm glad you are doing the rounds of my channel. Very interesting what you say about the exhaust. The challenge with only ever having cars for a day is that things like that don't start to get on your nerves. Living with a V12 Vantage must be tough...but someone has to take one for the team ;-)

Nice review Ped and a lovely car too. I'm just amazed you got a clear run up Harting hill without getting stuck behind someone doing 30 or a bunch of cyclists! Need to ask Jag if you can take it for a burn around the track.
Great video but I would like to have had your opinion on the comparison between the 4 x 4 and the rear wheel drive as you mentioned at the beginning of the video. Ie cornering.
I can give you that now. The RWD F Type is much light on the nose and has a more nimble feeling on turn in. Arguably a better handling car and the lighter sportier feel. However the AWD F Type gives to the ability to get the power down so is much better on corner exit. A RWD V6 is OK but the RWD V8 is a proper handful and for me really needs the AWD to make it a useable car every day 👍
Well done fantastic video, how was Goodwood today ? At brands with the hscc next week and just applied for media accreditation for that event (although just had to pay a load of money out for public liability insurance ) .
This is a great car and has similar number's if not equal to the Audi RS6 not the performance model with torque at 700Nm and 567Bhp and the 0 - 62 in 3.5 and RS6 is 3.9 but put them head to head and the RS6 would leave this for dust in a straight line fight due to Quattro AWD system as not sure how good AWD is on the Jag. Great Review Pedro as always. Kind Regards Alan B
I have another question for you what car can beat a Audi RS6 or the Performance model in a straight line as RS models are starting to make some supercars not look so super anymore I'm sure you agree they are just German power houses. @@PetrolPed I know it's difficult to describe but what are the differences in their sounds? Does the svr pop and crackle more often/louder? Or it's just got a louder rasp? Buying the F type purely for the sound. Don't care for the extra power in the svr but want to know if it's worth the upgrade just for the sound.
A very good review! Just a couple of questions. Any comments on how to launch my F-type V8S Convertible. Being 2 wheel drive I get a lot of wheel spin at launch and then again in 2nd gear. It has the P zero OEM tires. This wheel spin must be hurting my acceleration times but I haven't hooked up my Vbox yet to quantify it.. I also haven't been able to determine if Dynamic, or normal, or S or manually shifting would help. Also I haven't really figured out how DSC off or TracDSC off might effect it. Lol , lots of variables there! Thanks
Hi There. I've not driven the 2WD F Type V8. I can imagine getting that power onto the tarmac is quite difficult. In the F Type SVR it was mega easy. AWD let's you simply plant your right foot into the carpet and hold on !!! My guess would be having DSC off you might have more control and the wheel spin you get will be down to you right foot feel. I'm guessing the systems would kick in to help you out when turned on. The V6 I drove didn't suffer to much at it had just the right amount of power. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
@petrol red...love your review...i have a question from NYC...i have had 3 xkr convertibles for the last 10 years...been a great ride, (no pun intended)..but alas, they no longer make it...i have test driven the f type r, sickly fast but not so much in love with the look coming from the elegant but beastly xkr...i have also test driven the 911 4s...i saw the svr yesterday and will be test driving this week...may i have your professional opinion of what you think id appreciate more, which car drew more attention and which is more fun to drive...ive never had a 911...cheers...
Hi Alex HELLO New York !! Firstly I am no professional. Petrol Ped is just a hobby for me :-) The F Type SVR was amazing. Very powerful, the most amazing noise and for me amazing looks. Not sure for most drivers it's worth paying the premium over an F Type R with AWD. The four wheel drive made it very useable. I think the rear wheel drive might be a bit of a handful, especially in the wet. I have fallen in love with 911s this year. I've been lucky enough to drive a 991 S, 4S Cab, Turbo S and GT3 RS ! They are all very special and a really useable daily. The PDK gearbox is the best I've driven and in a different league to the ZF 8 speed in the Jag. As I said in this review. The F Type wins the 'making you feel special' and 'noise and theatre' race. The 911 is just so good and a super driving experience. I think I would need to put an after market exhaust on the 911. No need for that with the Jag ! Not sure you can go far wrong with either of them. A true first world problem. For what it is worth I'd have the Jag...unless I could afford a GT3 or GT3 RS :-)
Petrol Ped thank you for your response.. Not sure that noise is for me.. Not that's it's a bad thing.. True luxury problems.. Wish I had a new xkr to select . Peace ✌
Let me know what you decide to go for. My next car change is about a year off and my short list is an F Type R Convertible, Porsche 718 Boxster S or an older Audi R8 Spider.
I know I am tragically late to this video (just going through some of your older videos). Does the Jaguar SVR sound different go the R? Obviously they both have to same engine so the sound should be the same? Is that right. I know you mention the sound difference in the video, is it really different or is it subtle.
You need to concentrate because of the speed but the AWD means it's very usable. Way more noise which is excellent ! For me it's more of an occasion and loads of fun. However the V6 is such a good car and arguably more usable. Still massively fast but you feel like you are getting more out of the car. The SVR has so much that you will never tap in to on the public road.
I’ve driven both and you do have a first world problem ! The SVR sound amazing but you could say some of the sound is man made. The V12 Vantage is just stunning and you can’t beat an NA V12 ! The SVR is much better value though and with it being AWD it is much more useable 👍
In New Zealand the driving in the country is out of this world. I drove the new Vantage but bought the SVR. Better value for money. Ultimate sports car looks. All wheel drive...
For everyday and a lighter more nimble front end I’d go with the V6. It sings as the revs build. However the V8 is epic in every way and a V8R AWD would be high on the list of cars I lust after 👍
A lot of people say this car is brilliant and it is very desirable! But I saw a video where the owner said the in car electronics and interface are old and work poorly ...is that true? Not that I will ever be able to afford one
As a potential buyer I’m Very impressed with both your V6 F-Type video and this one, but the question I must ask....in your opinion could it be improved with a manual box? Does it being an auto take away any of the driving experience at all?
I'm trying to decide between a 2014 F type V6s or a F type V8s for only 7K more. Plus I would imagine the gas, insurance and tires will cost more on the V8s. You have driven both, so do you think the V8s is worth the extra money?
So many of these type of cars have to me, dull interiors with just a hint of colour in the stitching. why not go bold like a Rolls or Bentley with dynamic colour choices??
My name is Peter but my family and friends call me Ped (short for Pedro !). When I thought about starting UA-cam I needed a name. I am a Petrol Head so thought it was a play on words Petrol Ped. Shmee has done well out of it ;-)
Till today nothing looks like f type and its the only car in the planet that the v6 sounds better than v8 even with less hp.. Rare.. And new turbo s is over 250.00 euros
Exhaust sounds like that DO NOT QUALIFY AS NOISE, it's called a symphony of sounds, however. The best sounding v8 to come out of the "the old country" is by FAR the aston martin rally car on youtube
This car sounds better than most super cars. I will own it one day
For me they make one of the best car sounds out there !
id say it is a supercar...
Love this car Peter, it sounds amazing. I bought the R. Very, very happy with my choice but I love the look of the SVR. Still. I'm a lucky chap.
Very nice car. Did you go for the AWD or RWD ?
She's a RWD. I removed the stock Pirelli tyres and fitted Michelin pilot sport 4. Made a big difference.
Another excellent review of F-Type. I prefer the 3.0 V6 S you drove, it's the one I'd take home. It's more than enough power for daily use, I prefer the howling sound of the engine and not forgetting the wonderful red and black leather interior it had.
A lot of people talk about the Special Vehicle Operation's logo, saying there's no "O" on it! But the "SV" is inside a circle, so...
Fantastic video! Love the F-Type SVR, it's my dream car.

Well that's the F Type policy reviewed and I definetly need one in my life

Cheers! Academic really, that thing is way above my pay grade!
V6 S with rear wheel drive - kitty wants to play all night long!
A good and clear review of a beautiful car. Great to see a British company getting things right. Almost a shame that I'd still plump for the 911.
Id take an F-Type over a standard 911 Carrera/Turbo S, because it has more personality and is more fun, but id take a GT3/GTS over the Jag.

Hi Alex
HELLO New York !!
I've been waiting for this masterpiece and now it's finally here! 😆😃😆😂😈😯😂😱😨😌😧😲😤😑😵😤😪😋😵😣😕😲😦
You liked it then ?!
+Petrol Ped Oh yes did I like it! Brilliant car Brilliant video. Very professional. I have a real soft spot for all Jaguars. Especially the F-Type. 👍😂
I know I am tragically late to this video (just going through some of your older videos). Does the Jaguar SVR sound different go the R? Obviously they both have to same engine so the sound should be the same? Is that right. I know you mention the sound difference in the video, is it really different or is it subtle.
The V8 R and this both sound amazing but the SVR with its titanium exhaust is just that little bit more raucous 👍
Petrol Ped Thanks mate
I own the R and have had my hands on the SVR. To me, the R has an animal roar type sound whereas the SVR has a sound like Thunder.
I like the V8's on the V6 the exhaust gets in the way of the tow-bar for my caravan :) the handbrake switch looks scary, does it work on the move?
No ;-)
a good job ta
Awesome!!!
It sure is :-)
what would be your finale choice to buy out of the other cars you mentioned ? thank you
3 year old used SVR 👍
@@PetrolPed Thank you , I have been looking now for some time for a coupe svr , but enjoying the hunt , all the best
It looks like more concentration and more noise, compered to v6 s version...less fun?
You need to concentrate because of the speed but the AWD means it's very usable. Way more noise which is excellent !
For me it's more of an occasion and loads of fun. However the V6 is such a good car and arguably more usable. Still massively fast but you feel like you are getting more out of the car. The SVR has so much that you will never tap in to on the public road.
Hi, I’m in the very fortunate position of considering this car vs a vantage v12. Sound is massively important to me... what would you recommend?
I’ve driven both and you do have a first world problem ! The SVR sound amazing but you could say some of the sound is man made. The V12 Vantage is just stunning and you can’t beat an NA V12 ! The SVR is much better value though and with it being AWD it is much more useable 👍
In New Zealand the driving in the country is out of this world. I drove the new Vantage but bought the SVR. Better value for money. Ultimate sports car looks. All wheel drive...
Given you’ve driven both the V8 and V6S which would you recommend? Consider the convertible AWD option in both choices. Thx
The MMI isn't the best out there but I don't think it's that bad. It certainly wouldn't stop me buying one :-)
Want one, just on watching this video. The SVR is the dogs bollocks
Still one of my favourite cars I've driven !
and please let me know I'm looking forward to getting the svr
Do you live in the UK ?
As a potential buyer I’m Very impressed with both your V6 F-Type video and this one, but the question I must ask....in your opinion could it be improved with a manual box? Does it being an auto take away any of the driving experience at all?
Never driven a manual F Type. The auto ZF I really very good, but for driver engagement you can’t beat a manual change 😬
Petrol Ped I was hoping you would say with the paddle shift it was as good as a manual...... I think I need some test drives. Thanks for the reply.
Great review lovely car. 911 all day long for me
+Wilfred Birch This makes a better sound but a 911 would be easy to live with 👍
I'm trying to decide between a 2014 F type V6s or a F type V8s for only 7K more. Plus I would imagine the gas, insurance and tires will cost more on the V8s. You have driven both, so do you think the V8s is worth the extra money?
V8 all the way
Wow... 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
So many of these type of cars have to me, dull interiors with just a hint of colour in the stitching. why not go bold like a Rolls or Bentley with dynamic colour choices??
Nice photo work on the vid but why petrol Ped? Almost as bad an shmee 150. Lol
My name is Peter but my family and friends call me Ped (short for Pedro !). When I thought about starting UA-cam I needed a name. I am a Petrol Head so thought it was a play on words Petrol Ped.
Shmee has done well out of it ;-)
I'm going to check if I could go to the jaguar dealer
What a beast
Oh yes 👍
how much does a lease of the svr cost
Hi Javier. I am afraid I don't know how much it would be to lease one of these. I'll try to find out for you :-)
It is excessive. The depreciation of F-Types is staggering which is built into the lease price. Drove me to buying one second hand outright.
Till today nothing looks like f type and its the only car in the planet that the v6 sounds better than v8 even with less hp.. Rare.. And new turbo s is over 250.00 euros
Why mess about with a 718 boxster that sounds like a lawn mower when you can have one of these?
I think you forgot to mention how the car sounds...
Oh did I...sorry !
Here's hoping my lottery numbers come up 😁
Me too 😂
So how does it sound then...???? :) :) :) :)
Did I not mention that ?!!
Looks like Hugh Jackman and David Beckham together
My wife will be delighted !!
haha. Great review Ped. This car is beautiful in white
Squirrel alert 13:03 !!!!!!!!!!!!
Exhaust sounds like that DO NOT QUALIFY AS NOISE, it's called a symphony of sounds, however. The best sounding v8 to come out of the "the old country" is by FAR the aston martin rally car on youtube
2:56 why it looked like he had was talking about a girl?
18:22 that was close
I didn't know Hugh Jackman had a UA-cam channel
LOL...my wife wishes you were correct !!!!
doesnt list start at £110k?
I was told this car listed at £105k. I think there average SVR buyer would be spending quite a bit more than that !
+Petrol Ped you were told wrong. a simple google of f type svr price will tell you that.
+DK Does Cars it says 108k? Not sure you'd be worrying about the £3k when each option alone with be about that
