  • I'm doing something different for a change, as I am doing a video about an issue that wasn't even highlighted to me via the UA-cam comments or private messages! Today, I am looking into an issue where breakable props (like explosive barrels and item crates) break when they touch the ground after they are punted then subsequently picked up by the gravity gun before they hit the ground. I am unaware of any issues that occur as a result of my fix for this issue, please let me know if any unintended stuff happens!     Hey everyone, it was brought to my attention by a commenter (Tr0tim) that explosive barrels and item crates can still break if they are grabbed by the player's use key instead of being grabbed by the Gravity Gun. Thankfully, the resolution to this issue is to move the code I outline down a little bit into a check to see if the prop is being grabbed by the Gravity Gun or the player (seen at around 4:30). Hopefully this helps!

    Does this still work if you pick up the launched prop via E (Use)...?

      Good point, the answer is no (at least with the method I outlined in the video). Thankfully, the resolution to this is to simply move the code I use down a little bit into a check to see if the object was grabbed by the Gravity Gun or the player (seen at around 4:30).
