Using the chaser against the Head Of The Train’s heart is very useful. That’s because the heart shoots fire at you, and with the chaser, you never need to worry about aiming the weapon.
FYI! For the third phase, you can stand at the far end of the screen where the boss starts shooting: E.G the boss shoots lightning at left, stand at the far side of the left running towards the left. This way you can totally ignore his attack. This is the easiest phase for me cos no stupid fucking pumpkins . This means you literally dont need to touch the parry at all if you're using the chaser.
Pro Tip: For the skeleton, you can cheese it. Get the platform all the way over to the right, stand as far left as you can without falling off, use the chaser, and just shoot. Any pumpkins that drop Pez candies onto your left wheel will be killed before they can, and any on the right won’t move you. His hands don’t hit far enough to hit you, therefore you can literally just stand there with your finger on the trigger until he dies.

For me, during the 3rd phase I recommend staying at the corner and dealing as much damage to the head as possible as being all the way in the corner makes it impossible to get hit by the yellow laser, also you shouldn't shoot the ghost early because the pink skull can hit the car and get you hit.

You can cheese phase 3 by hitting both bosses at the same time with your super. You can also sit on the far edge of the cart directly under the boss when they use lihtning - so you never have to move (unless you're in the center!)

I’m going to give this a try next time. This boss is so frustrating. I almost broke my controller and rage quit. It’s one of those bosses where it feels like everything works against you and one mistake (a jack o lantern dropping shit on your cart) can ruin your game. I swear there are times where parrying only works when it feels like it.
He’s the easiest boss in the 3rd route hardest bosses ranked in route 3 (not including devil or king dice) 1: Dr Kahls Robot 2: Cala Maria 3: Rumor honeybottoms 4:BlackBeard 4:Phantom Express 5: Sally Stageplay 6: Rat and cat
This is what I call a fun boss. Cool level design IMO, it’s not difficult (i’m looking at you King Dice and Dr. Kahl’s Robot...), it’s fair and def one of my favourite (King Dice being the first even though he’s INSANELY hard to beat.).
honestly, this is easy for me, the only things you'll need is extra hit point (i don't recommend you use twin hearts since it will highly affect your damage attack.), chaser and super art (1). of course, I only recommend this if you want to just pass the boss and you don't wanna get a perfect score.
Personally, I like to stand backwards and use roundabout for the ghost. For T-bone, I put the cart in the middle and just go on the edge depending on where his head is. For the twins, I use my Super Art 1 perfectly so it hits both of them. If one is left, use roundabout directly on them. For the train head, I just use chaser or spread. So roundabout for 1st and 3rd phase, spread or chaser for 2nd and 4th. So hope this helps! This is for phantom express btw

If move to to the edge of the left screen at the start of the boss fight, look away, and use the Roundabout Shots, you can get through the ghost part of the boss fight alot faster, but the only downside is you will have to watch for a stray eyeball that didn't get hit and parry the valve so the cart doesn't get moved by the bars of soap the pumpkins drop.
I personally use the twist up and the crack shot. Now I know what you are thinking, "why use the twist up?" It is the best in the first three phases of you know how to lock to aim. For the blind specter I would stand at the very edge of the cart and forward shoot the twist up while ducking. It's not perfect sometimes. Because sometimes all the bullets doesn't kill the eye balls or you would try to parry the bars the pumpkins drop. Smoke bomb to the back and use the crack shot of that happens and try to go back the the very edge. I keep the cart on the left side of the screen while doing this. The ex's dose help with them. The conductor is a complete joke. Because if you don't know. The hand's hit box is not on the entire cart if I stand at the edge (not very edge) and aim my twist up at the conductor's head. It also takes out the pumpkins easily. The ex's can be useful unless of he's on the left or right. And also I have the cart in the center. The lollipop ghouls is also a joke if you know the correct place to be. The very edge of the screen (not the cart) I use twist up to take care of the first lollipop ghoul and the use the crack shot on the other one. If the ghost get too close to me I use the crack shot to get rid of them. I only use the crack shot for the train it's self. If you disagree with me then that's you and I will not argue with you.
I didn't think of this! What worked for me was the regular pea-shooter + chaser and the invisibility dash. - For the ghost I'd shoot up diagonally to hit eyeballs and pumpkins, jump-shooting when I had to. - For the Skeleton Conductor, I'd play it from wherever the cart happened to be and just go BETWEEN the hands if they happened to surround me (usually where the cars connect) and use the pea shooter or chaser. I BARELY move for this part. - For the melty heads, I stay in the middle - I don't know why I didn't think to go to the sides! - and use the "smoke bomb" to dash through the lightning. Again, diagonal pea shooter. - And then for the engine, I pretty much did what you did. These are great tips. I'm going to try to beat it again using some of your strategy.
For the old man head. all you have to do is go to the VERY edge of the screen and dont move when one of the old man heads spits out lightning it wont hit you. if a ghost comes close enough then kill it.

At the beginning,if you stand to the left of the pink wheel you can still shoot the ghost and jump to hit the pink block dropping(literally just hold shoot and jump over and over it’s super easy). A lot easier then having to go left every time
Thanks to all the advice here, roundabout in the first level worked the best for me. P charm equipped, super 1 used in the last phase, just keep standing completely on the left during the lightning attack bosses while using chaser. Felt almost like cheating this way :-/

STAND SO THAT YOU ARE JUST IN THE RANGE OF ATTACK FOR FIRST PART, BUT NOT SO THAT WHEN YOU JUMP IT MOVES THE PLATFORM. WHEN THE PUMPKINS COME, JUMP UP TO AUTOMATICALLY PERRY THE BARS. DO THE SAME FOR SECOND SECTION. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TAKE DAMGE IF YOU STAY STILL FOR THE FIRST TWO PARTS. THEN, BEAT THE NEXT TWO STAGES LIKE NORMAL.
In the first phase just use roundabout and stay to the left side of the wheel when the pumpkin drops the pink just parry the left wheel before it touches the wheel and it will not be parriable

I feel like it’s possible that Charge May be helpful during the final phase, and Roundabout could be helpful during the first phase of you aim the opposite way
Use the roundabout and the parry charm for it. In the first phase just go to the left, turn your back on him, jump and shoot. You must not even look lol. Its also usefull for the other phases. Last phase with chaser is best choice.
on the secound phase all you need to do is stand in a place in between the arms and stay there ith chaser the whole time so you dont have to deal with pumpkins
When I was on the first phase what I did to stop the pumpkins was to parry the other wheel on the minecart right as it dropped the ingot, so the wheels would not be able to be parried for a few moments so the ingot does nothing

You can stand at the ledge of the cart in phase 3, when the Boss attacks with the left side you can stand then at the rim there easily and shoot him while he does his attack. Same goes for right. while the start animation of this phase you can do small jumps and if the boss which you attack won't move this one will be dead.
I used peashooter and homing shot on this one with automatic parry. Peashooter for the first two stages and homing for the last two. The ghosts in the third stage are laughable when you've the homing shot. Took Super II for the last stage, but I didn't even get to use it because the boss died right before I activated it!

I recommend using roundabout and Auto-Parry for this boss. As well as chaser. I also recommend Giant Ghost.

For the weapon choice just suggest round about and chaser or roundabout and spread. The chaser roundabout combo worked for me the best.

gekkow roundabout doesnt do anything if the projectile goes out of the screen tho

I love using the boomerang weapon, but I face in the opposite direction so the boomerangs fly all the way to the other side of the stage.
Head of the Train (Phantom Express final phase) should be called "CRAP THOMAS".
