No telling, it's always fun to dig...may be a hold over from when we're kids digging in the dirt and making mud pies. It has really become a popular past time ,some really find somethings valuable. Old coins, dining silver, good stuff...never know down south during that terrible war many buried their treasures and weren't ever coming back to dig it up again.😢 Never know, possibilities.😊 It snowed on us last night and it's cold up here!!!🥶❄️❄️❄️ I'm staying in no digging for me, the ground is frozen. Love from KY 💕💕
Robert I bet there are so many hidden treasures on your farm. You're like a kid in a candy store and guess what, we certainly enjoy digging with you! What an exciting adventure! Love it Robert...You Rock!
I live in California near the beach. The only metal detecting I have done involved a metal wire scoop. Get a signal and scoop up the sand. The sand falls through the grid and leaves only the dime (usually pull-tab or penny) behind. I can't even begin to imagine digging in that nightmare wisteria vine woven ground. You are a better man than I.
My goodness... really loving your channel. Will be joining up soon. These videos are worth it! Can't believe it's taken so long to stumble across your channel. Your dog is so interested in your digging n looks at you sometimes as if to say "who the heck is he talking to!" So funny. So cute. 💖 From Australia
Some great finds. The brass horse tack is probably older than the Pond's lid. I don't know how you are digging anything through so many layers. Fun dig!! I hope you metal detect again soon. 👍👍❣️❣️
I think you may find some pieces of dishes , horse paraphernalia , an old watch . We are sitting at 5° here in Missouri . And it's snowing again . You need some knee pads so you don't get wet . Under all those wisteria vines you may even find plow pieces .
Robert have you considered getting a tooth bar for your tractor? I hear that the "Piranha Tooth Bar" is a great attachment and it might help you lift some of that wisteria out of the ground. Love both of your channels. Best of wishes!
The horse tack is part of a bit used on a bridle. The o ring actually held a rein and the metal.thats attached would held the bitthst wentbinto the horses mouth.
I suggest you put a single hook soil ripper on your 3-point and rip the soil up in the problem areas to rid the site of wisteria. Otherwise, you'll be fighting it for years!
Still haven't found that southern gold Robert, the wisteria is guarding the gold mind you it's surprising what you can find, that wisteria looks like veins it tough definitely all the 👌 best Andrew south wales uk 👌 👍 👏 😀 🇬🇧
Robert, idea.......The glass fragments could be turned into mosaic stepping stones, making use of what the Old Byrd Farm gives you or collect in a mason jar and place in a sunny window and catch a a rainbow of color
Fun hunting for hidden treasures from the past with you Robert. Watch out, that wisteria is trying to get you. Blue is such a good dog, right by your side. 👍
Great video Robert👊👊 The Wisteria flower is beautiful in bloom, but yes the root system is a pain digging around 😄😄😄 Any roots are hard for digging, a section at a time and a piece of history at a time!! Keep digging my friend🤗🤗🤗🤗
I shouldn't have chuckled when you fell, but I often think when you're walking around that I wouldn't be able to take more than 6 steps without tripping.
That blimin wisteria, would be so frustrating digging through that. I've got the same detector, it's always fun seeing what you can find except when the ground's like concrete! Love the brass ring, very cool.
Watching you from the Netherlands. You're a joy to watch. I also watch your other channel, sidestep. I learn more every day about your country. on your journey. Keep it up.
After watching your latest battle with the wisteria, I turned over to another vlog channel I watch and hew was planting wisteria in front of the walls of his convent! why? i lived in a house with wisteria planted along the back fence and were constantly pulling shoots out of the front grass! who knows what else those nasty roots got into when it grew under the house! I hate it even thougth it is pretty to look at. Is it worth all the trouble for a few weeks in spring?
We have found a lot of cool stuff on our property that dates back to the 1790s. One of the slave houses stood here until 1986. The main house stood until 2006. We traced much of its history back to the 1700 by visiting and spending hours going through records at the county court house. We believe we have discovered a slave cemetery in the woods directly behind where a slave house stood.
Some of those lids could be zinc in the 1800's the had the stoppers and zinc cap like the smelling salts and other lids, salt shakers. Oh gosh I hate wisteria. And you might get snow
Could that horse tack piece actually be something furniture related as well as that other brass piece you found? That Wisteria would make me want to plant dynamite charges all over out there! And obviously, there would go the artifacts, too!
The Byrds certainly took excellent care of their slaves, oops I mean servants. A roof and heater must have made the servants feel like they died and were in heaven. 👍👍👍

You found a rein guide. They passed the reins thru there to control the horses that pulled the wagons. It s a great find!
Whatever you find, it's part of your past. Enjoy your treasures. Thanks for sharing. Blessings from Michigan.

Just love metal detecting with you Robert! I’d like to come down there and rip those unbelievably nasty wisteria vines out of there!
Me too! I also wish I was 20ty yrs younger to do it. ♥️😊👍
I know! I talk a good game but I’m 71 with a bad back!
HI Robert! Can't wait for you to find a Magnificent Piece. Best wishing you find a rare piece.❤😊
Love your videos and enjoy watching them. May the lord bless and protect you Robert

Digging through the raging wisteria. So interesting! ❤thanks for all you share with us.
Love that copper sewer pull it’s well worth trying to save💯❤️💯🤲👍

If you can locate old outhouses, try digging them. People used them to dispose of bottles, dishes etc. it was a hole already dug.
There should be an outhouse close to the servants' quarters.
I tell you what, that 1880s furniture catalog you found in the house was the best! How amazing to find such a thing.
I suggest you put a single hook soil ripper on your 3-point and rip the soil up in the problem areas to rid the site of wisteria. Otherwise, you'll be fighting it for years!
That Open Road is a fitting hat for you and your historic content.
Great detecting video.
Uncle Jay
good find...I love metal detecting. Trade you day, we have 4 inches of snow and its 15F.
Always love the metal detecting the farm for treasure! Nice find!
Still haven't found that southern gold Robert, the wisteria is guarding the gold mind you it's surprising what you can find, that wisteria looks like veins it tough definitely all the 👌 best Andrew south wales uk 👌 👍 👏 😀 🇬🇧
That evil wisteria is out to get you, Robert. Be very careful. I can't wait to see what other treasure might be out there.
Yippee more treasures awaiting 🤗🤗🤗
I love metal detecting never really know what you may find thank you for sharing with us and take care 🙂
Treasures also in old outhouses ❤
Treasure awaits just under that weave of wisteria.
Omg!! Look at that nasty network of wisteria roots.
Interesting video Robert, thank-you,!
Robert, idea.......The glass fragments could be turned into mosaic stepping stones, making use of what the Old Byrd Farm gives you or collect in a mason jar and place in a sunny window and catch a a rainbow of color
I liked the horse tack.
It's a treat to have time to watch more of your videos during the polar invasion. Deeply thankful to have power to do so as I know some do not.
Do you have some old pictures of the farmhouse and the farm?
Fun hunting for hidden treasures from the past with you Robert. Watch out, that wisteria is trying to get you. Blue is such a good dog, right by your side. 👍
Get some rest and relax. For a while u need it, and I'm praying for you to get to
Where your needed to go. Good luck 😂Jacob I love you and Jen
Treasures inside and outside!
The pottery shards would be valuable to an artist who does mosaics.
Great video Robert👊👊 The Wisteria flower is beautiful in bloom, but yes the root system is a pain digging around 😄😄😄 Any roots are hard for digging, a section at a time and a piece of history at a time!! Keep digging my friend🤗🤗🤗🤗
Save all the glass pieces and have someone make a mosaic table topper. Could even add metal pieces as an outer edge like a frame.
Thank you Robert
Love metal detecting! More!!!!

Nice reins guide!
Robert, it’d be so fun to do a collaboration with The Quarter Hoarder! They are a fun group with great knowledge.
Glad you're feeling much better
Thanks for tour !
I would like to see your finds cleaned up and photographs at the end, that would be awesome.
Robert are you familiar with a pear burner? Perhaps that tool would help burn the vines off that are laying on the ground.
Have you tried to clean out anymore of the trash in the house or tried to see what you might find on the floor of the house on the Old Byrd Farm
Watching you from the Netherlands. You're a joy to watch. I also watch your other channel, sidestep. I learn more every day about your country. on your journey. Keep it up.
10:16 A ring for a leather strop used for dressing the edge on a straight razor .🤔
Hiya Robert! ❤😊
That sounds cool 😊
It is a drawer pull. THere were some old ones like that but can't tell from here. lol
do a vinegar soak and then brasso the copper and brass. Would look great!
I would love to do this!!
Thanks for the metal detecting video!
I love metal detecting!

You need a good Lesche digger. It would make digging a bit more bearable. 😊

If only we could get rid of all that nasty wisteria vines you probably be amazed at all you could find.
You did good today.
♥️♥️😊👍👍🌟🐶🐶
That was a pretty graceful fall. I would have gone ass over applecart 🤣
This was pretty good, you probably will find some great things ❤
Looks amazing Robert?
I was just thinking that! How do you not trip? Then you did. Now, I'm thinking how did he find that can of old coins? LOL
Hobart Tasmania Australia 🦘 watching ❤
Hope you find find some really great things good luck
Find at 10:32 goes on the wagon for rope lead or whatever they are
Use a battery operated reciprocating (sawsall) saw with at 15" diablo pruning blade to cut those wisteria roots.
Brass ring could be from hitching post or door knocker?
Some of those lids could be zinc in the 1800's the had the stoppers and zinc cap like the smelling salts and other lids, salt shakers. Oh gosh I hate wisteria. And you might get snow
Cool tack
Hoping you are ok after your trip over the wisteria.
Could that horse tack piece actually be something furniture related as well as that other brass piece you found? That Wisteria would make me want to plant dynamite charges all over out there! And obviously, there would go the artifacts, too!
That whole farm is just a museum waiting to happen who knows you might find something worth millions
Could be copper hand for a tea tray 🫖
I believe the wisteria is the true ghost haunting the Old Byrd Farm. Guarding the treasure by tripping you.
Aloha 🌺🥰
I hope to see you get rid of those Wisteria vines embedded so deeply!😖
looks like it is from an old horse tying post
See if that white piece of glass glows under the black light. That was a thick piece of glass. Some white pieces glow.
Hi❤❤❤
Top Robert best fried🌤🧣🧤☕️🌡🔥🧹👍
Listen closely at 13:27. I'm going to scare the bejeebers out of you yet.
Watch out for that wisteria it's evil and vindictive, and it is mad at you.😂
need a chicken update...
You need a land scape rake for your tractor.
Maybe that ring thing was from a shackle used to keep slaves in place and was broken when a slave tried to escape.
You do realize the OBF wasn’t even built until near two decades after emancipation right 😂
No, I wasn't aware of that. I wonder what that thing is then? It is intriguing. @@THEOLDBYRDFARMVLOG
@@wileycoyotesr8623 horse tack of some sort. I’ve found iron ones before. Never brass. Apparently it came off of a bridle according to the comments.
Are you ok?
I don't know if my comment made it. You need a land scape rake for your tractor
Your treasure seems to me like a door knocker.. At least it looks like one, I could be wrong..
Wisteria is evil😂
The servants were either from Africa or from America. Which would mean they were either Africans out they were Americans.
The Byrds certainly took excellent care of their slaves, oops I mean servants. A roof and heater must have made the servants feel like they died and were in heaven. 👍👍👍
Fantastisch Good work Robert you the best te Top men 🧢🧣☕🧤✔️👍
