Thank you so much for this information. My Avata just arrived yesterday! It's always nice to learn something new. I heard about the 65w chargers for faster charging and ordered one from Amazon. I had no idea that power charging these types will actually shorten the life of the battery.... Thanks again, that's good to know!
Just what I wanted to know! Thanks for making. Now if you could only find an Avata fast charger that could be powered from a car (12-14v) or a lithium RC airplane battery for when we are in the field! :o)
I found a car charger at 65watts. amzn.to/3e8am0X but I can't find one that uses a lithium RC battery. I may see if that's something I can create in my spare time.
@@fpvtrendz That's the same one I came up with. It can be lipo powered by getting a female cigarette lighter socket and putting an XT60 plug on it. Then 11-14 volt lipos can be used to power it. But they need to be mongo as each Avata battery sucks up over 2400 milliamps, so I'm not sure this is very practical.
Plenty of power banks can deliver at least 20w of power over USB C, with many being able to deliver over 65w. They're usually meant for charging laptops, but work with the Avata charger just as well.
If you read the manual it says you need to use a 30 watt PD charger which is a fast charger takes about 90 minutes and it doesn't say anything about shortening the life of the battery, it charges it just like any other Dji drone
Cool will definitely check out this charger. I actually tried using a 60 watt charger that belongs to my phone and I guess those 5 watts makes the difference between it quick charging or not. Lights on my batteries are blinking slow on this 65 wat charger. By the way would you know if it's possible to make the dji 4 battery charging hub charge all batteries simultaneously?
I have charged it with that and it works well. I was just giving a basic warning that using fast charging on batteries can cause them to have a shorter life span. Now that being said, DJI may have something in place that keeps that from happening because they don't give a warning like that. I'm just trying to cover my basis so people don't come back saying you told me this but did not warn me LOL.
I just got the dji 65w portable charger as an impulse buy .I just got both the avata and dji fpv drone (and goggles v2, goggles 2, dji fpv remote controller 2 and motion controller).. out of these items what can I charge with this 65w charger and what should I not charge with it? Just the avata and dji fpv drone batteries but not the other things? Thanks for any help as I'm new to these products..I take it fast charging can reduce the life of the batteries so only do when in a hurry and otherwise use the standard charger?
DJI says that you can use the 65W part for the Avata batteries and the goggles batteries. But the controllers should be charged at 25W or less. Also, fast charging any battery can shorten the life, but DJI has said that you can use 65W all the time, so that's what I've been doing. I've charged my batteries about 60 times now (maybe more) and they still seem good)
@FPV Trendz thanks for the feedback..I appreciate it. Do you think that means I can charge my dji fpv drone batteries as well with the 65w charger too? Thanks once more
Usually I'm all for getting cheap stuff, but chargers are NOT one of them, especially stuff meant to go over a few dozen watts. If these cheap chargers fail, they can take down your expensive equipment with them. I don't mean to sound like a condescending dick, but if you can afford an Avata, you can afford to spend a few extra bucks on a decent name brand charger like something from Anker.
Thank you for stopping by and commenting. Some people will want less expensive chargers and others will want $300 chargers. The chargers I show are just fine for people to use, but I understand if someone wants to pay more.
Some people say it can and others say it will not hurt it. You have to remember that DJI has built in a circuit that makes it a smart battery so I'm guessing it will not hurt them but it could. That being said, I fast charge mine every time.
@@fpvtrendz oh I see, how long have you had your battery and did you see any significant changes in the battery's life ever since you used the 65w charger?
@@itschuckee6778 I've had mine since they first went on sale, which I think I got it delivered on September 2nd. I have not noticed any changes in the battery and each of my batteries have had over 70 charges now according to the DJI app.
I am glad you made this video. This clears up my confusion about what charger for each battery. PD and straight charging.
Awesome, and thanks for watching. I really appreciate it.

You're welcome. You can do it sometimes without harm but doing it fast with every charge will shorten its life span.

That's an awesome idea. I'll start looking for such chargers or maybe create one lol. I'll let you know what I find.

That was more of a disclaimer (just in case) than anything lol. But you are correct and thank you for your comment.
If you have a modern macbook charging brick, that is also a good one to use. I get a charge in about 40 min with one of those.

Did you get that 3 battery port from DJI?? I have a 65w charger but nothing to connect the battery to
Yes, it came with one of their packages.
I don't think it damages the battery. did you take the test?

Doesn’t faster charging hurt the battery? For someone like me tht has no idea wht plugs are wht wattage??? Can u help?
No really as these batteries have internal electronics that help prevent that, however, you should charge it slower if you have to time to wait.
